UV Bonding

With the use of an elegant notch cut, a dwarf wall or a sloping angular cut you can truly fit your shower enclosure to any awkward space.

Merlyn offer an expert service in UV Bonding – a technique which is applied where glass meets glass. Two pieces of glass are bonded together using a specialist UV technology and the result is a clear bond that is stronger than the glass itself - resulting in optically clear, perfect joints every time.

Often consumers will consider CE marking on a product as an indication of conformance to laid down minimum standards and therefore, a minimum level of safety which other products may lack. CE marking is for many consumers a “Symbol of Safety.”

Merlyn invests heavily in its product development and as such guarantees that its glass fully complies with regulations and is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 14428. The rigorous testing of the glass ensures that the endurance, stability and water retention criteria meet high industry standards.

All electrical products comply fully with relevant regulations.

At Merlyn research and development is an integral part of the business. All products go through rigorous testing processes so much so that we can confidently stand behind our products and therefore we offer a Lifetime Guarantee covering all manufacturing defects ensuring ultimate peace of mind. Glass shattering and parts subject to wear are not covered by the lifetime guarantee. Electrical products have a 2 year guarantee and are not covered by the lifetime guarantee.Please note that the Mershield is not covered under the guarantee as it is solely dependent on the owner’s water supplier and the level of care and maintenance it receives.

The CE marking on a product indicates to government officials that the product may be legally placed on the market in their country. This ensures the free movement of the product within EFTA and European Union single market and permits the withdrawal of the non conforming products by customs and enforcement authorities.

N.B Please note that when a tray is fitted it is essential that the tray is level before any doors or enclosures are fitted.

N.B Take the measurements after the tray is installed and the walls are tiled.

Although shower door and enclosure sizes are related to tray sizes it is important to note that most shower trays are tiled down to the rim, often over an “up-stand”. The finished installation space may be less than the nominal tray size. Arysto by Merlyn shower enclosures are made to suit this remaining space.

The illustrated guide (diagrams on right of page) may be helpful in taking measurements to determine the shower door or enclosure size required. Dimensions given in this publication are in millimetres, are approximate and may vary with adjustment. They are subject to change without notice.

Ensure strong and secure joints between shower tray and walls, even in the event of floor settlement.

For bespoke sizes please provide overall measurements i.e. tile-to-tile or tile-to-outside edge of tray, all surfaces including trays, walls and floors, all angles and cut-outs etc.

Merlyn accept no responsibility for any incorrect measurements and details provided by customers or retailers. Any order placed to correct the mistake is treated as a new order and will be charged as such. Merlyn do not accept any returns on any bespoke products.

This is the min and max adjustment of the actual enclosure. Always ensure the outer most part of the enclosure frame is stepped in far enough from the edge of the tray so that the enclosure frame is sitting on a flat surface and can be sealed correctly. Some trays have larger rounded edges and may need a bigger step in. Ensure that the step in leaves adequate space for the product adjustment.

When the product reaches the end of its serviceable life it needs to be disposed of safely and brought to or collected by an approved authorised treatment facility.

Used batteries need to be disposed of responsibly and not with your normal household waste. Please contact your local authority for information on recycling and safe disposal.

Please supply floor plans, photos, site condition details and note anything that might obstruct the product. Special sizes cannot be cancelled once the order has been processed.

ɰ It is important to clean your Merlyn shower door after every use.

ɰ Wipe down all the glass and metal parts with a soft cloth.

ɰ Do not allow lime scale to build up in hard water areas.

ɰ Ensure that any residual water on the glass is removed after every use.

ɰ Clean the glass regularly using soapy water.

ɰ Do not use abrasive products on any surfaces.

ɰ Install the enclosure in a well ventilated area.

Always read the instructions on the packaging. Chrome is vulnerable to acid attack and some strong household cleaners including strong disinfectants, denture cleaners, hair dyes, wine making chemicals and photographic chemicals may contain acid. These materials may have a varying effect on the surface from black spots/streaks (which cannot be removed) to pitting the surface. Contact with these materials should be avoided.
