Telkom Internet has introduced a “Telkom Internet Service Management Tool (TI SMT)” tool to replace what was formerly known as “Mailbox Activator”, whereby you as the customer

can activate or deactivate your @telkomsa.net electronic mailboxes, Dynamic DNS and Static IP addresses linked to your account. The Telkom Internet Service Management Tool can be accessed through the following URL: https://online.telkomsa.net/smt/.

Figure 1: Telkom Internet Service Management Tool Login Page

Please use either your Telkom Internet access username and password or your @telkomsa.net email username and password to log into SMT.

As a customer you cannot enable or disable a Dynamic DNS service not linked to your account.

4. MAILBOX ACTIVATOR

The Telkom Internet Service Management Tool has a component called “Mailbox Activator”

tool whereby you can activate or deactivate the Telkom Internet electronic mailboxes linked to your account. This means that in cases where you have more than one electronic mailbox but only requires the use of one, for example, you can deactivate the other electronic mailboxes. This will ensure that you use the correct electronic mailbox and/or alias on the account and prevent mails been delivered to the incorrect email address. This puts you as the customer in full control of how you want to use the electronic mailbox (es).

Should you have more than one electronic mailbox and want to activate more than one then the same scenarios apply; this tool gives you, the customer, the ability to determine how many mailboxes you actually need and use. The following important points must be noted:

You cannot enable or disable mailboxes not linked to your account. In the event that additional mailboxes are required, you can order it via the sales channel provided.

All new customer accounts will be in a “disabled” or “inactive” status when a customer joins Telkom Internet and the customer will only be able to receive and send emails once he/she activates the mailbox (es) needed.
