The event featured extensive regional and international participation from companies in the aerospace industry. Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, Presi- dent of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, delivered opening remarks at the event, which was attended by the representative of His High- ness the Amir, Deputy Minister of the Amiri Di- wan Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah. KOC DCEO Commercial & Corpo- rate Services Abdul Wahab Al-Mithin, Manager Security Group Adel Al-Azmi, Acting Manager Public Relations & Information Group Bodoor Sayed Omar, and Acting Manager Industrial Services Group Hezam Al-Ajmi represented the Company at the opening ceremony. KOC established a booth at the Kuwait Aviation Show in order to display its recently established helicopter services, which utilize two modern Augusta Westland AW169 helicopters. One of the helicopters is used for emergency medical evacuations and the other is used for critical transportation purposes, with the possibility of using a third helicopter when needed. Minister of State for Service Affairs and Min- ister of State for National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees and a number of official representatives from ministries, institutions, and government agencies attended the open- ing ceremony, in addition to members of the diplomatic corps and military attachés, inter- national organizations, international companies from the aviation industry, and a large host of guests and invitees. During the aviation show, Kuwait Airways, the Qatar Air Sports Commission Team, the Saudi Falcons Team, the U.S. Air Force, and the Italian Air Force conducted several air shows where aircraft and paratroopers participated. KOC Participates in Kuwait Aviation Show 2020

Under the auspices of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, KOC recently participated in the second edition of the Kuwait Aviation Show, which was held at Kuwait International Airport over the course of four days. The event featured extensive regional and international participation from companies in the aerospace industry.

Show in order to display its recently established helicopter services, which utilize two modern Augusta Westland AW169 helicopters. The Mobile Clinic will provide medical checkups to employees throughout KOCKOC Launches Ahmadi Hospital’s Mobile Clinic

KOC recently launched Ahmadi Hospital’s Mobile Clinic, which will provide periodic medical checkups for employees. The launch of the new service was held during an event that was attended by KOC CEO Emad Mahmoud Sultan and a number of DCEOs.

The Mobile Clinic’s first medical checkups were conducted at the Company’s Main Office in Ahmadi, where members of the medical and nursing staff administered blood pressure, diabetes, and hearing tests. The results of the tests were discussed with the patients imme-diately afterwards, which demonstrates the Mobile Clinic’s usefulness in providing patients with fast and efficient care.

The procedures conducted by the Mobile Clinic took place under the supervision of Medical Group Manager Dr. Emad Al-Awadh. Team

Leader Preventive Medical Services Dr. Entesar Al-Hendal and Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Saud Al-Ajmi were responsible for overseeing the operation of the Mobile Clinic.

The launch of the Mobile Clinic falls under the framework of the Com-pany’s effort to care for and protect the health of its employees, and the services provided by the Mobile Clinic will cover employees wor-king throughout all of the areas of the Company’s operations.

A key highlight of the Mobile Clinic is its ability to go to patients whe-rever they are and provide fast and accurate medical results in a short period of time. In the coming period, the Mobile Clinic and its opera-tors will continue to offer medical checkups to KOC employees and Company contractors throughout KOC.

More than 20 KOC initiatives and projects were presentedKOC Holds 1st Environmental Practices Expo

The 1st KOC Environmental Practices Expo was held recently at the KOC Tent in Ahmadi. The event, which was held under the patronage of CEO Emad Mahmoud Sultan and DCEO Administration Qusai Al-Amer, was or-ganized by the HSE Team and Health & Environment Team. The Environ-mental Practices Expo took place over the course of one day and was at-tended by Group Managers and Team Leaders.

Al-Amer inaugurated the exhibition, which aimed to raise awareness on environ-mental issues. In addition, the KOC Environmental Practices Expo served as a forum where experienced professionals could communicate and exchange in-formation related to environmental protection. The event featured various booths

from different Company Teams who participated, as well as booths from other prominent companies and organizations concerned with environmental issues.

More than 20 KOC initiatives and projects were included, and presentations were delivered by KOC employees during the event. Meanwhile, Schlumberg-er presented a Youth Workshop at the Unity Center which coincided with the exhibition.

The event also included a number of games and contests with prizes and awards for the winners. Certificates were then distributed to the participants at the conclusion of the event.

DCEO Ali Al-Kandari discussed general plans & workplace challengesNK Directorate Holds Annual Forum for New Employees

The Annual Forum for North Kuwait Directorate employees below Grade 16 was organized recently under the sponsorship of DCEO (NK) Ali Al-Kandari. A large group of new employees attended the event.

The forum was also attended by Team Leader Planning (NK) Osama Al-Thu-waini and Team Leader Human Resources (NK) Manna’a Al-Ajmi. During the event, Al-Kandari discussed some of the general plans and challenges faced by the Directorate. He also touched on a number of work-related matters that new employees will face when performing their daily tasks, and he of-fered advice on how to adequately address various work-related challenges.

As part of celebrations commemorating KOC’s 85th anniversaryKOC Organizes Exhibition Featuring Historic Company Items

In the context of celebrations commemorating KOC’s 85th anniversary, the Public Relations Team recently organized an exhibition featuring a number of significant items from KOC’s history.

Public Relations & Information Group Manager Mohammad Al-Basry and Acting Public Relations Team Leader Khaled Al-Failakawi, in ad-dition to a number of other Company employees, attended the exhibi-tion’s opening.

The exhibition included old photographs of H.H. the late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah during his visit to the Company when he was Governor of Ahmadi in 1948. In addition, the exhibition also featured

samples of various equipment used by Company employees during the 1940s and 1950s.

A document from 1934 signed between H.H. the late Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and the British was also on display, in addition to a number of historic KOC documents, including the first issue of Al-Kuwaiti first published in 1948, and publications of The Kuwait Digest from the 1970s.

The exhibition was met with widespread approval from visitors, who were provided with the opportunity to look back on KOC’s rich history through rare pieces of the Company’s past, with many items being displayed publically for the first time.

Meanwhile, a number of employees delivered presentations on the roles and responsibilities of the departments in which they work. Al-Kandari then encouraged the employees to share their comments and suggestions about a number of issues related to their work at KOC. This led to a conversation in which the DCEO was able to direct the new employees towards methods and official procedures which must be followed in order to attain and secure the best possible work environment.

At the conclusion of the event, Al-Kandari thanked the employees for their attendance and the positive interaction they displayed.

“Transforming Oil & Gas Towards Digital IntelligenceKOC Takes Part in Applied Technology Workshop

Hamad Al-Zaabi, Innovation & Technology Group Manager and Chairperson of the Committee for Digital Transformation, recently presided over a meeting of the Applied Technology Workshop. The two-day event was organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers at the Hilton Hotel & Resort in Mangaf and was held under the theme of “Transforming Oil & Gas Towards Digital Intelligence.”

The meeting was attended by the Committee’s Co-Chairs, Maria A. Capel-lo, Consultant I (NK), and Accenture’s James Wimbury, Resources Country

Lead, Kuwait. Members of the Committee representing international service companies also attended the meeting, whose participants discussed topics related to digital intelligence.

The steering committee is composed of representatives from KOC, KNPC, KUFPEC, KIPIC, KPC, GOFSCO, Kuwait University, the Australian College of Kuwait, as well as several international companies from a variety of sectors, including Schlumberger, Emerson, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, Halliburton, Microsoft, and Huawei.

Within the framework of the “Kuwait Cultivates” campaign organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Program - Habitat for the Arab Gulf Region, KOC recently hosted a visit to the Abdaliyah Reserve.

A delegation from the program and a number of diplomats in Kuwait partici-pated in the visit, including Samer Haddadin, Director of the Kuwait Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Ambassador of the Cooperative Repub-lic of Guyana Shamir Ali, and Yemeni Consul Ammar Mikhlafi also participated.

Hamad Al-Muzain from the Department of International Organizations Affairs at the Kuwait Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of environmental non-governmental organizations also participated in the visit.

KOC Operations Group Manager (EK) Omar Sadiq, Public Relations & Information Group Manager Mohammad Al-Basry, and a number of employees from the Public Relations Team accompanied the del-egation.

The visit included a tour of the Abdaliyah Reserve, an awareness session on the importance of sustainability, and an opportunity for participants to plant trees at the reserve.

The “Kuwait Cultivates” campaign was launched in October of 2019, and KOC is a key partner in its various work and activities. One of the main goals of the campaign is to create a greener Kuwait.

Organized by the Risk Management TeamKOC Organizes Risk Management Workshops

Lecture was organized in cooperation with the Industrial InstituteCMKG Holds Awareness Lecture on Orthopedic Diseases

The Contract Manpower Kuwaitization Group, represented by the CMK Strategy and Monitoring Team, recently organized an awareness health lecture on orthopedic diseases.

Manager CMKG Group Mohammed Jaafar, Faculty of the Industrial Institute in Shuwaikh, which is part of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, led by the Institute’s Director Dr. Mohammed Bou Hamdi, Consultant Orthopedic Surgery Dr. Hamad Al-Harran, as well as CMK Strategy and Monitoring Team Leader Hanan Ashkanany and a number of the Group’s employees attended the lecture.

During the event, Jaafar delivered a speech in which he commended the relationship between the Company and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, where he upheld his confidence in the educational outcomes of the colleges and institutes of the Authority. Orthopedic consultant Dr. Ali Behbehani delivered the lecture, where he touched upon general bone problems and related issues.

At the end of the lecture, Manager CMKG Group honored Dr. Behbe-hani. The guests then toured the Ahmad Al-Jaber Oil & Gas Exhibition, where they were briefed on the history of Kuwait’s oil and gas industry.

KOC’s Enterprise Risk Management Team recently organized an event which covered the Risk Management Communication Plan for KPC and its subsid-iaries, which aims to support the 2040 Enterprise Risk Management Strategy for the oil sector.

The event included two workshops which were attended by stakeholders from various K-Companies. Dr. Musleh Al-Otaibi, Manager Management Sup-port Group, delivered the event’s opening remarks and emphasized the im-portance of communication between oil companies and the development of vital links for comprehensive risk management. This, he said, will help increase productivity and allow for an advanced stage of development to be reached.

Al-Otaibi also upheld the importance of modern technology for communica-tions and its role in providing the ability to communicate among comprehen-sive risk management experts at any time and place. He noted that the Risk Management Team at KOC established a detailed plan for communication between oil companies, and that the Company also developed a technologi-cal means of communication to manage comprehensive risks through an ex-ternal network.

The event covered several topics which detailed this initiative and its achieve-ments in supporting the 2040 Enterprise Risk Management Strategy for the oil sector.

Ahmadi Hospital Hosts Anesthesia Specialist Dr. Krishna Boddu

Ahmadi Hospital recently hosted Professor Krishna Boddu, Director of Re-gional Anesthesia at Royal Perth Hospital. He is also the Adjunct Professor at Curtin University in Perth, Australia, and Adjunct Professor at the Univer-sity of Texas Health Sciences. During his visit, Dr. Boddu supervised several surgeries and delivered lectures, most notably on Key Performance Indica-tors for Operating Rooms.

Dr. Boddu also met with Team Leader Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Ahmadi Hospital, Dr. Salah Taqi, and reviewed his visit program, which in-

cludes lectures on prosthetics protocols. Dr. Boddu then supervised the workflow in operating rooms and collaborated with staff on local anesthesia, surgical anesthesia, and pain relief.

On the academic side, the visiting doctor delivered four lectures, where he touched upon the policies of cooperation between anesthesia and surgery in joint replacement and shoulder operations and postoperative pain relief policies for patients. In addition, he touched on his administrative experience in organizing surgeries in Australia.

Surveillance & Logging Services Team Organizes Workshop

The Surveillance & Logging Services Team recently organized a two-day workshop titled “Production Enhancement through Perforation Techniques.”

The workshop targeted staff from Field Development, Exploration, Drilling, and Well Inspection, and included technical lectures on several topics to facilitate the decision-making process when determining the type of drilling required.

Surveillance & Logging Services Team Leader Abdul Aziz Al-Faris said the perforation process is the most important process that takes place before the

well is placed in production and results in the optimal flow of oil. He maintained that proper selection reflects the production achieved from each well.

Al-Faris added that the workshop aims to present perforation technologies for all users and provide an opportunity to maximize the benefit from choos-ing the best technologies required for each well depending on its condition, which is reflected in achieving the highest targeted production rates for the Company in order to achieve the goals of the 2040 Strategy.

An exhibition accompanied the workshop which presented models which helped clarify the technical aspects related to well drilling techniques.
