High Grade Student VideoThis Performance Music Video use a wide range of

effective construction techniques.

EDITING – As shown in this screen shot this group has the

filters. This can be done in software such as Final Cut. It

shot more interesting, appealing and brings positive

attitude from the use of bright colours.

CAMERA – During the music video there is a wide variety

extreme close ups, low and high angles and mid shots.

Some of these shots are used to clearly show looks and

use of make up, attracting their target audience, as the

artists are USP due to the performance. Framing has been

thought through and planned as the artist is mostly

centralized in the frame. A tripod has been used to keep

each shot still with no shake.

MISE EN SCENE – The costume of the artists is very similar

to any mainstream artist as the song is mainstream, also

the costume will attract the target audience as they

audience may want be dress like the artists. A variety of

settings are used throughout the video for example, they

have used a studio and back streets. The use of these

settings makes the video more exciting for their target

audience.

SOUND- The the lip syncing in this music video has been timed perfectly,

this makes the video look realistic and believable for the audience.

Low Grade Student VideoThis Music Video use a wide range of effective construction

techniques.

EDITING – From watching this music video I could tell that

the editing has not be challenged. The use of a monochrome

effect does not work because it makes the narrative hard to

follow. The cuts are never really in time with the music, cuts

happening randomly which make the narrative hard to

follow. The only one tool they used a fade transition.

CAMERA- It is easy to tell that during the making of this

video they did not plan and research what shots were going

to be used as there isn't a range of shots compared to the

higher grade video. Secondly in some shots the framing has

been rushed as sometimes the artists head has been cut off.

MISE EN SCENE – Only one setting has been used, a church

yard. All the characters where the same costume making the

video boring to watch as there in so change in setting and

costume. No props are used. Sound – Overall the lip miming is generally on time good timing. However

could be improved at some moments.
