Kaval-Ants taverns are authentic Estonian taverns tak-ing the name from an old Estonian folktale about the farmhand Kaval-Ants (Tricky Ants), who was so clever that he managed to outwit even Vanapagan (Old Nick).
The Kaval-Ants taverns are featuring limestone walls dec-orated with old farm tools, wooden beams, waiters in tra-ditional Estonian costumes, folk music, traditional Estonian countryside cuisine based on natural and ecologically bal-anced produce and a large selections of beer and ale.
One such tavern is located in the middle of Tallinn in the ren-ovated horse stables of the 1876 city estate of Baron Theoph-il von Stackleberg at von Stackelberg Hotel Tallinn.
