GENERAL ZONE PRINCIPLES

RUN GAME SCHEME WHICH CREATES VERTICAL LANES BY HORIZONTALLY STRETCHING THE DEFENSE. UTILIZES ZONE COMBINATIONS (MATE BLOCKING) IN A COVERED / UNCOVERED ZONE BLOCKING PRINCIPLE.

WE WILL SEPARATE THE DEFENSE BETWEEN THE PLAY SIDE AND THE BACKSIDE . WE DO THIS WITH A TRUE ZONE CONCEPT, AN EXCHANGE CONCEPT, AND WE ALSO HAVE THE CAPABILITY OF MAN POSSIBILITIES ON THE BACKSIDE. THIS CREATES THE VERTICAL RUNNING LANES.

THE BACK HAS A PROGRESSION OF READS WHICH TELL HIM WHERE THE VERTICAL CUT WILL OCCUR. HE IS RESPONSIBLE TO MOVE THE SECOND LEVEL OF THE DEFENSE BY EXECUTING PROPER RUN GAME FOOTWORK AND BODY DEMEANOR.

THESE RUNS ARE A COMBINATION OF TWO OF OUR CORE RUN GAME CONCEPTS. WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO EITHER MAN THE PLAY SIDE AND ZONE THE BACK SIDE OR ZONE THE PLAY SIDE AND MAN THE BACK SIDE.

THIS ALLOWS US TO GAIN AN ADVANTAGE VERSUS THE DEFENSE BY UTILIZING EITHER A DOWN BLOCK / PULL TECHNIQUE (TRUCK CONCEPT) ORA TRUE VERTICAL DOUBLE TEAM CONCEPT WITH WITHIN ZONE BLOCKING RULES.

WE CAN LEVERAGE AND SEPARATE THE DEFENSE BY USING THE DOWN BLOCK / PULL TECHNIQUE (TRUCK CONCEPT).
