2010 Mitavite National Prince Philip Mounted Games Championships
It is the Pony Club Association of Queensland Inc’s greatest pleasure to host the 2010 Mitavite National Prince Philip Mounted Games Championships. The Championships are being held at the Sunshine Coast Showgrounds, Nambour on Saturday 24th July 2010.
We cordially invite each State to send both a Junior and Senior team of five (5) riders, Team Coach and Chaperone.
Prior to the actual Championships, we have some social activity for everyone to enjoy.
Following is a large amount of information about the Championships. I hope all your questions are answered by the information supplied. If not, please contact organising Secretary via email ~ [email protected] ~ for assistance.

COMPETITION OUTLINE DATE: Saturday 24th July 2010
VENUE: Sunshine Coast Showgrounds, Nambour
TIME: 8.00am (Juniors followed by the Seniors Competition)
ENTRY FEE: $50 per team
AGE: Juniors: All riders must be aged 15 years and under as at 1st January 2010.
Seniors: All riders must be aged 16 years and under 26 years as at 1st January 2010.
GAMES: Set 1: Ball and Bucket 5 Mug Race Postman’s Chase
Set 5: Stick Pegging Mitavite Race (Spillers) Pyramid Race
Set 2: Five Flag Stepping Stone 3 Mug Race
Set 6: Rope Race Potato Picking Scramble Two Flag
Set 3: Bottle Race Hi Lo Race Pony Express
Set 7: Balloon Bursting Canadian Race Tyre Race
Set 4: Fish Race Housewives’ Scurry Hurdle Race
Tie Breaker: Race to be decided by Team Managers.

RULES: Games will be conducted in accordance with the current International Mounted Games Exchange Rule Book, January 2008 edition.
PROGRAMS: Event Programs will be available on the day of the competition. Every Competitor and Office will be supplied with a complimentary copy of the program, price of which is included in the entry fee.

Arrival to the Sunshine Coast
A charter bus has been organised to transport team members, coaches and managers from the Sunshine Coast Airport to accommodation at the Maroochy River Coach House.
Please check airfares direct to the Sunshine Coast... www.sunshinecoastairport.com.au …it is your responsibility to make your way from the Brisbane Airport to the Sunshine Coast.
Teams will be accommodated in comfortable, air-conditioned, twin or double rooms each with
ensuite and tea & coffee making facilities. Rooms are serviced daily.
All food is prepared daily in our kitchen using fresh in-season fruit and vegetables, local meats, poultry & seafood. Meals include a two course dinner, and a fully cooked breakfast (plus cereals & juice).
Further information regarding accommodation and meals will be provided upon arrival.

Buses will be available to transport team members, coaches and chaperones between the accommodation and Australia Zoo from 9.00am returning to accommodation after 4.00pm.
A team of passionate conservationists work round-the-clock to deliver an animal experience like no other. Cuddle a koala, hand-feed our Asian Elephants, walk with a Sumatran Tiger and watch a crocodile launch from the waters edge. Australia Zoo is the ultimate wildlife adventure delivering conservation through exciting education.

A canteen is available on the grounds for purchases, eg morning and afternoon tea and lunch. This is at participant’s own cost. As is any Zoo purchases, ie photos and souvenirs.
It is recommended that accompanying family member’s make their own arrangements for transportation to Australia Zoo to avoid disappointment. A range of options are detailed on the Australia Zoo Website.

Morning Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast
Organised transportation will ferry participants between the accommodation and the Mooloolaba Wharf from 8.30am to enjoy a free morning to do as little or as much as you like.
For simplicity, enjoy a picturesque walk and experience the aesthetic appeal of Mooloolaba. Stroll to the marina and take in the nautical atmosphere.
Head southwards along Mooloolaba Beach and investigate the lighthouse at Point Cartwright. Roller blade, jog or power walk along the Esplanade and enjoy the sweeping views of the northern beaches,
Mudjimba Island and glorious Mt Coolum rising into the skyline.
For an experience unique to Mooloolaba, visit the ‘loo with a view’ a viewing platform that has become world famous.
Take advantage of this coastal destination and book in for a fishing tour, cruise on the canals, snorkel in the sea or joy ride on a jet ski. At a depth of 27 metres, scuba enthusiasts will be amazed at the ex-HMAS Brisbane and enjoy the possibility of actually diving into the engine and boiler rooms.
