    t The 506 graduates o the Cass o 2011

    accepted empoment in 47 countries;

within the U.S., in 22 states and

    Washington, DC.

t Sixt percent o the cass hed U.S.

    citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident

status. The remaining 40% were citizens

    o 65 countries.

t The U.S. edera goernment remains

the top empoer ohks graduates, with

    47 U.S. citizens joining 23 departments/

agencies. The Word Bank Group was

    our top empoer in internationa

    deeopment, engaging 12 graduates.

Strateg consuting continues as a strong

interest with McKinse & Compan and

Boston Consuting Group, as two o our

top e empoers, together hiring 25

    graduates in six countries.

t Fourteen graduates were seected asnaists in the U.S. Presidentia

    Management Feows Program, o whom

seen reported accepting a pmf position.

One 2011 mpa graduate and ourhks

aumni rom earier casses were awarded

    White House Feowships.

t A our percentage point drop in pubic

sector empoment or the Cass as a whoe

rom 2010 (oowing a signicant drop

rom 2009s six-ear high) brought us to a

10-ear ow. Athough the mc/mpa and

mpa2 programs each saw an increase in

    pubic sector empoment, the signicant

drop in mpp (10 percentage points) and

mpa/id (12 percentage points) resuted in

    this current ow.

    t Nonprot/ngo empoment dropped two

percentage points in 2011 rom its highest

ee o ten ears in 2010. A programs

saw a sight decrease in ngo empoment

with the exception o the mpp program,

    which remained fat.

t Priate sector empoment was up two

    percentage points oera to represent

one-third o empoment choices or the

Cass compared to just under one-third

ast ear. Priate sector choice decreased

ten percentage points in the mpa2

program whie increasing in the mpp

program (e percentage points) and the

    mpa/id program (13 percentage points).

t The aboe trends in pubic and priate

choices or the entire Cass are aso

refected in the empoment reports o

    graduates with U.S. citizenship and

    U.S. Permanent Resident status. ngo

empoment or this group decreased in a

programs except the mpa2, which increased

    three percentage points oer 2010.

t A simiar decine in pubic empoment

(down e percentage points) is seen with

    internationa graduates; the greatest

decine, again, in the mpp (eight

    percentage points) and the mpa/id

    (11 percentage points) programs. ngo

    empoment remained ee or the

internationa Cass as a whoe, whie

    priate sector empoment increased

    three percentage points.

t The cass o 2011 represents the rst to

compete the new Harard joint mpp/mba

    and mpa-id/mba programs. Introduction

o these new Harard joint programs

has aso reduced the number o joint

    degree graduates in ourmpa2 program.

    Anecdota eidence has shown that

    joint degree students genera choose

    priate sector positions immediate

    post-graduation, moing subsequent

    between sectors throughout their careers.

    t The percentage o students (both U.S.

and non-U.S.) choosing to aunch new

entures has increased this ear (up

our percentage points). Most o these

    positions were reported with sector

    unspecied.
