identical dates will be chosen by lot. Winners are preferred in all winners races. Trainers which enter two horses in the same race must prefer the horse that has the best chance of drawing into the race. Preference dates will not supersede the conditions of the race (derby eligibles preferred, high weights preferred, etc.). Any horse which is scratched shall lose its date and must re-en-ter to establish a new date an exception may be made when, in the opinion of the Stewards, a horse would be unduly penalized. All horses placed on the Stewards, Veterinarians, Starters, Pad-dockorIdentifierslistwillbepostedontheofficialbulletinboardand may lose their date. The Racing Secretary or Board of Stewards reserves the right to withdraw or scratch any horse, which in their opinion will not qualify for the race in which it has been entered.Foalcertificatesremovedfromtheofficebythetrainerforanyreason will automatically cause the horse to lose its date. Foal certificatessentforcorrection,changesofownership,breedersstamp,etc.,bytheRacingOfficewillnotconstituteremovalfromtheofficeandthedatewillnotbelost.AnyColoradoBredracewhichfailstodrawatleastsixentriesby9:45willbeopenedwithColorado Breds preferred. At least one Colorado Bred race will be used per day if six separate betting interests are entered.Inallthoroughbredraces,filliesandmares,threeyearsoldandolderwillbeallowedfive(5)poundsinopenraces.Fillies,twoyears of age, will be allowed three (3) pounds. In no way does the claiming, change of ownership, or change of trainer affect the preference date of the horse involved. A starter’s fee of three dollars will be charged for each start that an owner has at the 2017 meet. Starters fee will be donated tothefollowingorganizations:GrayHawkRanch,Cantor&Colo-rado Horse Council. Prior to entry, the owner of a horse is required to have ondepositwiththeHorsemen’sBookkeepersufficientfundstocover the expense of starting that horse. Failure to meet this requirement will result in horse being scratched. SCRATCHES The declaration of a horse out of an engagement is irrevocable. No horse entered in an overnight event, will be excused from rac-ingunlessupontheVeterinarian’scertificateofunfitness,orforother cause acceptable to the Stewards. Horses in stakes or

handicaps(includingtrials)mustscratchnolaterthanforty-five(45)minutespriortoposttimeoftherace.Allscratchedhorsesthatresultinafieldsizeoflessthansix

will be on the vets list for a minimum of six days. All trainers entering a horse in any given race shall, at the time of making such an entry, name the jockey for said horse. In the event riders are not named for all carded horses within one hour after the draw, the Stewards shall name riders for all horses with riders unnamed.Ajockeyengagedtorideanyhorseisboundtofulfillhisengagement unless excused by the Stewards. Should a rider become injured or ill on the way to post or at the gate, and the Stewardsdesignateasubstituterider,suchariderwillfulfilltheorder of the Stewards and complete the engagement of the horse.

WORKOUT & QUALIFYING RULESNON-STARTERS A non-starter must have within sixty (60) days of entry at least two(2)*workoutsrecordedbyanofficialclockerandpostedwiththe Racing Secretary prior to entry and be gate approved. It’s recommended that non-starters have at least three (3) workouts prior to entry. A non-starter is a horse which has not started a race at a recognized track. * - For Quarter horses - one (1) of these works must be from the starting gate at a distance of at least 220 yards in a time of :14.00orbetter.ForThoroughbreds-one(1)oftheseworkoutsmustbefromthestartinggate,andallofficialworksmustbeatleast3/8mile.Itisrecommendedthatatleastone(1)Thorough-bredworkoutbeatadistanceof1/2mileorfurther.Allnon-start-ers must be Gate Approved before entry.

STARTERS Any horse which has started, but not within sixty (60) days, must have at least one (1) workout within sixty (60) days prior to entry. Horses that have not started within six (6) months of scheduled race date must have at least two (2) approved work-outs within the sixty (60) days prior to entry.

870 & 1,000 YARD RACES Quarter Horses and Thoroughbreds entering in 870 or 1,000 yard races that have never run in a race around the turn, must haveone(1)officialworkoutof660yardsorbetterbeforeentry.It shall be the responsibility of the trainer to establish to the satis-factionoftheStewardsthattheseprovisionshavebeensatisfied.

SHIP INS Under no circumstances should any horse be shipped to ArapahoeParkwithoutfirstsecuringarrangementswiththeStallSuperintendent. Horses shipped in to race will be assigned a stall in the receiving barn, and these horses must report to that stall only - No Exceptions. Any horse entered for racing must be present on the grounds at least 48 hours prior to the post time of the race they are entered in.

WEIGHTS Owners, trainers and duly authorized agents must be careful to claim allowances at the time of entry, and state penalties, and are solely responsible if a horse starts with the incorrect weight and is,therefore,disqualified.Excepttocorrectanerror,noaltera-tions shall be made to any entries after the time of closing. Penalties are mandatory. Horses which are penalized in a race may not receive any allowances in such a race.Horsesnoteligibletoreceivethefirstallowancemaynotreceive the second, and if not the second, then no subsequent allowances. COUPLED ENTRIES A trainer may not enter more than two (2) horses in any over-night race. When a trainer enters two (2) horses for an overnight race, a preference must be expressed. First preference must be given to the horse with the best preference date. In no case may any two (2) horses under the same ownership or trainership be drawn into an overnight race to the exclusion of a single interest.

FEED, TACK, & BEDDING Sole proprietor for all feed, tack, & bedding supplied to the barn area will be BIG D, LLC. Owners and trainers may bring in feed and hay to their respec-tive barns for their own use.

TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIPAllregistrationcertificatesandleasesofhorsesmustbefiledwiththe racing Secretary in a timely manner. The purchase, claim or transfer of any horse on the grounds of Arapahoe Park, whether by private sale, claiming or public auction, does not guarantee the new owner a stall for such horse. Arapahoe Park reserves the right to allocate stalls.Any change in ownership or trainer after a horse is registered in the RacingOfficemustbedonewiththepermissionoftheStewardsbefore such horse is entered to race for its new owner or trainer Claimed horses excepted.

All claimed Horses shall must have a Colorado Brand Inspection before transfer of ownership is complete.

CHANGE OF EQUIPMENTAsthetimeofahorse’sfirstentryforaracingseason,allpersonsauthorized to enter a horse shall be responsible for entering with the correct weight, medication and all published equipment to be used. Any changes in medication or equipment from that time forward shall be the responsibility of all persons authorized to enter a horse andmustbeapprovedbythestewardsorracingofficialdesignee. A horse’s equipment shall be recorded by the paddock judge whenthehorseisbroughttothepaddockforit’sfirstraceatthemeet. A change in equipment from what a horse carried in it’s last previous race may not be made without the consent of the paddock judge prior to the time the horse is due in the paddock. Before a horse can race in blinkers, it must work out with blinkers tothestarter’sspecification.Onceracingwithblinkers,itmustworkout to the starter’s satisfaction without blinkers before it is permitted toracewithoutthem.Thepublicshallbenotifiedofanychangeinthe use of blinkers.

COGGINS TEST/HEALTH CERTIFICATESContact Arapahoe Park before shipping to get the latest information as to what documents are required for entry into the stable area. It is the recommendation of the CRC that all horses entering the stable area be vaccinated for all pertinent diseases. All horses shipping to Arapahoe Park must be accompanied by a HealthCertificateissuedwithin72hoursofarrivalatthetrackwhichshows the vaccination record for each horse. All horses must have been vaccinated with an FDA approved vaccine for EHV-1 not less than 14 days and not more than 60 days prior to admittance to barn area. The veterinarian must provide the date, brand, serial number and the expiration date of vaccine. All horses must have a current negative Coggins test.

COLORADO RACING COMMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Racing License - All participants in racing at Arapahoe Park Racetrack will be required to hold a current and validated Colorado Racing License. All Owners will have to have a completed license application submitted andonfilebeforeyourhorsewillbeallowedtostart.

Please plan ahead and get licensed prior to opening weekend and prior to entering a horse. The Division is available to mail or E-mail out application packets. If you hold a driver’s license from one of the following states: Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nebraska, New Mexico, Utah and Washington, you will be required to present a copy of yourbirthcertificateorUSpassportatthetimeofapplication.Ifyoudonot have one of these items, you will not be allowed to race until you can provide it.

tRaineRs: If you have a groom working with the H2B program, they must have their extensions done prior to arriving at Arapahoe Park. If they do not have current paperwork, they will not work until they receive their updated paperwork!

MEDICATIONPhenylbutazone, Flunixin (Banamine) and Ketoprofen will be the only nonsteroidalanti-inflammatorydrugs(NSAID)approvedforhorserac-ing. They must be injected by a practicing veterinarian, licensed by the Colorado Racing Commission or administered orally by a veterinarian or trainer 24 hours before its scheduled Post Time. Under no circumstances shallahorsebeallowedtohavemorethanonenon-steroidalanti-inflam-matorydrug(NSAID)initsbloodand/orurine,unlessotherwiseapprovedby the Commission veterinarian, in special circumstances only, in which Phenylbutazone must be less than 1 mcg.

C.R.C.R. #7.207 -Atthetimeofahorse’sfirstentryforthecurrentracemeetany person authorized to enter a horse shall be responsible to enter the horse with the correct weight and with all the horse’s medications, pursuant to Colorado Racing Commission Rules concerning authorized medications, and all of the published equipment to be used for the current race meet. Anychangesinmedicationorequipmentfromthehorse’sfirstentryforthecurrent race meet shall be the responsibility of any person authorized to enter a horse and must be approved by the stewards, the Division veterinarian oraracingofficialdesignee.

The Colorado Racing Commission is in the process of adopting new medication rules, and procedural rules to comply with Racing Statute. All adopted rules by Colorado Racing Commission shall be published in the 2017 Division of Racing Events Trainers Packet.

The Trainers Packet, a brochure that includes medication regulations, is provided by the Colo. Division of Racing Events and is available in the Commissionoffice.

ARAPAHOE PARKSTABLE AREA RULES & REGULATIONS

ENTRANCE INTO STABLE AREA1. All persons entering the stable area will be required to show a current Colorado Racing Commission license. This license must be displayed at all times within the stable area. Violators will be subject to disciplinary action.2. An owner, trainer, assistant trainer, jockey, veterinarian or racing official may log in unlicensed persons at the stable gate. These persons will be held responsible for their guests’ conduct and safety while on the grounds.3. Intoxicated persons will not be permitted to enter any restricted area, and anyone found in this condition may be ejected for safety reasons.4. Positively NO DOGS permitted in the stable area of Arapahoe Park.

TRAFFIC REGULATIONS1. Speed limit in all areas is 10 M.P.H.. This and all other traffic signs must be obeyed.2. Driving or parking in or around the barns is prohibited during training hours. Only veterinarians, equine dentists and farriers are permitted to drive or park in or around the barns during training hours.3. There will be no deliveries in the barn area during training hours.4. Parking is permitted in designated areas only.5. All horse trailers must be parked in the designated area only.

BARNS, SHED ROWS & MANURE BINS1. Positively no painting, pasting or other permanent fixtures permitted in the barns.2. Any machinery to be used in or about the barns must first be approved by the Racing Secretary.3. Manure bins are located at the end of each barn. All manure must be placed in these bins. All trash must be placed in proper receptacles.4. Straw and wood shavings are the only materials to be used for bedding horses.5. Trainers shall be responsible for the conduct of their employees and the appearance of their shed rows and adjoining areas.6. No person shall use improper, profane or indecent language to any Association or Commission personnel while in performance of his/her official duties.7. No person shall possess, carry or exhibit a deadly weapon, or otherwise disturb the peace on the premises of Arapahoe Park.8. All licensees in accepting a license thereby consent to any search by persons in authority.9. Horses must be walked to and from the track, and not be galloped on the horse path.

FIRE PREVENTION1. Sleeping in stalls, feed rooms or tack rooms is strictly prohibited.2. Smoking is prohibited in and around stalls, feed rooms and shed rows at all times.3. All shed rows and aisle ways must be kept clear of all obstructions at all times. These areas are considered fire exits.4. Open flames, gas or oil lamps are prohibited in the stable area. Flammable liquids are not to be stored in the stable area.5. Hot plates or other cooking appliances are not permitted in the barn area.6. Oat cookers must be attended to at all times. Oat cookers must be used with metal containers only.
