show to you again this year. we hope you enjoy the latest in design, features, and green

building products and techniques. This year when you plan your tour you will be

able to take advantage of the restaurant coupons that are printed on the back of your

tickets and make a day of the event and what it offers.

There are tremendous efforts that go into making this event by home buillders, BAEC staff and

volunteers and sponsors, that without them and your participation it would not happen. We also want

to thank the home owners for their participation and willingness to be a part of this great event. I know

many people that look forward to this show every year.

As in programs past, they have all brought a diversearray of homes to this show. The scattered site event features 12 new homes and two remodelingprojects situated throughout the area communities. In each home you’ll discover great ideas, currenteco-products, and design and color trends. The members are ready to share with you their homes’outstanding quality and craftsmanship.As chairpersons we’ve had the benefit of a great committee to collaborate with all the planning,

show transitions and decisions. The Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standardsprovide, for the first time ever, new homebuyers andremodeling customers a way to measure their builderand the project against an industry approved set ofstandards.

These Standards have been developed as a service tonew home consumers and remodeling customers. TheseStandards create a series of performance standards that

builders and customers can use to communicate and understand each other’sexpectations regarding building/remodeling projects.

The Standards address the most prevalent issues that arise between thebuilder and the customer before the project, during the project, and mostimportantly, after the project is completed. All too often it is the unrealizedor undiscovered expectations that create the majority of the problemsencountered in the building/remodeling process. The Standards will helpeliminate these problems before the project even begins.

The Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards provide you with theconfidence that professionals in the industry are handling your project. Makesure your builder of remodeler is a member of the Builders Association ofElkhart County and a Standards Builder and/or Standards Remodeler, and besure that you receive your Standards manual at contract signing or at closing.
