Jackie AdamsonJacqueline (Jackie) Adamson has dedicated a career span of more than 39 years in

international transportation, to include: customs brokerage, freight forwarding, transportation related insurances and Customs Bonds. As Regional Vice President of Roanoke Trade’s southeast regional office in Charleston, SC, her responsibilities include providing international and domestic insurance solutions to firms engaged in international trade and shipping. She is a licensed insurance agent, a licensed customs broker and holds the professional designation of Certified Customs Specialist (CCS).

Jackie was the first woman elected to the board of directors of the National Customs Broker and Forwarder Association of America (NCBFAA). While on NCBFAA’s board of directors, she served as Chairman of the Automated Export System Committee and represented the association on the AES Trade Resource Group; a group which consisted of importers, exporters, US Customs, US Department of Commerce, US Department of Agriculture, US Food and Drug Administration and the trade. She was appointed co-chair of this group. Her leadership assisted in bringing industry together with government for the preliminary design of the Automated Export System… AES, as we know it today. She was recognized by former Commissioner of Customs, George Weise, for her contributions and leadership to the successful development and implementation of Phase One of the system. Jackie also served on the NCBFAA’s Education and Legislative committees and as chair of their Political Action Committee. She has lobbied in Washington on issues of impact to international trade and transportation

Jackie’s career span includes various leadership roles in related organizations as well as professional awards in the industry. She has taught numerous seminars and lectured on various topics related to international trade and logistics, transportation liabilities and risk management.

Her twenty-two years experience as a licensed customs broker, freight forwarder and NVOCC, plus 17 years in the cargo insurance brings to her clients a greater awareness and understanding of their needs.

Jose AguirreJose I. Aguirre is the Chief Operating Officer of Miami International Freight Solutions

(MIFS). MIFS is a locally owned and managed international logistics company. Prior to joining MIFS, Jose was an owner/manager with Miami International Forwarders (MIF) and had held several financial positions at Pepsico, Inc., and Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Co.

Mr. Aguirre is a certified public accountant, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from New York University. Jose has been an active member of various industry associations and has served on the board of the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association in many positions since he joined the industry. He served as president of FCBF from 1996 to 1998.

Mr. Aguirre was born in La Habana, Cuba and moved to the United States in 1961 via the Pedro Pan program.

Cynthia Allen is the Executive Director, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) ACE Business Office. She brings more than 20 years of trade experience to the position. Ms. Allen was an Educational Institute Director with NCBFAA, a past president of the Detroit Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association, and co-chair of the Trade Support Network (TSN) Entry Committee. As a freight forwarder, Ms. Allen was involved in Transportation Security Administration (TSA) efforts to continue to regulate the secure transport of freight in the air environment.

Fred Annunziata Fred Annunziata was born in 1956 in the Bronx, NY. Mr. Annunziata earned his BS in

business administration from the University of Dayton, Dayton Ohio in 1978. He started his logistics career with Farrell Lines in Chicago, 1978. Mr. Annunziata moved to Miami in 1980, and in 1985 joined Jose Aguirre and Lenny Roberts to head up the sales efforts at MIF. Mr. Annunziata helped MIF to grow to be the largest independent 3PL in the Southeast until MIF was sold to EGL in 2003. Mr. Annunziata became one of the founding members of MIFS, which started April 1, 2008 and has enjoyed steady success the last four years.

Mr. Annunziata is married to his wife of 32 years and has two children; Daniel, 26 and Michael, 23.

Vincent Annunziato Vincent Annunziato is the Director for Cargo Control and Release, which is a division of

the ACE Business Office in CBP's Office of International Trade. He began his Customs and Border Protection (CBP) career in 1996 as an Officer at the port of Los Angeles, California.

In 2004, Mr. Annunziato took a promotion to work on the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) project and assist in modernizing Customs systems. He has an extensive background in leading Information Technology programs in the ACE and legacy Automated Cargo Systems (ACS) environments including: Free and Secure Trade (FAST), ACE Truck (R4), ACE Ocean and Rail (M1), and Legacy Cargo Release systems. With the focus of building an electronic solution for CBP and all government agencies (Single Window Concept), Mr. Annunziato has been instrumental in developing the ITDS Concept of Operations and has lead the data engineering for the Participating Government Agency (PGA) data set. He is currently developing the business requirements for the modernization of Automated Cargo System (ACS) for Cargo Release.

J. Scott Ballman, Jr.J. Scott Ballman, Jr. is a Deputy Assistant Director with ICE’s Homeland Security

Investigations and is assigned to the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center (IPR Center) located in Arlington, Virginia. The IPR Center stands as a focal point in the U.S. Government’s fight against commercial fraud, counterfeiting and piracy. Mr. Ballman has been a sworn law enforcement officer since 1977. He started his customs career in 1984, as a Special Agent in Miami, Florida. In Miami and Puerto Rico, Mr. Ballman investigated or supervised Commercial Fraud, IPR, Money Laundering, Export crimes, and Drug Smuggling. In 1999, Mr. Ballman was transferred to Customs Office of Internal Affairs, Special Investigations Unit (SIU), in Washington, DC. The SIU investigated allegations of wrong doing made against upper management and Internal Affairs personnel. In 2003, Mr. Ballman was transferred to Customs Commercial Fraud & IPR Unit where he has worked as a National Program Manager, Section Chief and Unit Chief. In 2008, Mr. Ballman became the Deputy Director of the IPR Center and in 2010 became a Deputy Assistant Director. He has chaired the Commercial Fraud Working Group at the World Customs Organization since 2007.

Ken Bargteil Professionally, Ken Bargteil is serving in his tenth year as Chairman of the NCBFAA

Customs Committee. He termed out after four consecutive two-year terms as a Board Member representing the Baltimore, Boston, and Philadelphia Region. Ken is a Charter Member of the NEI Policy and CCS Content Committee. This is his ninth year on the Annual Conference Committee. He is also a Charter Member of the Large Broker and Forwarder Committee. Mr. Bargteil leads the NCBFAA delegation at Customs' Trade Support Network, serving on the Revenue, Legal & Policy, Supply Chain Security Steering and Trade Leadership Committees, and he currently Chairs the Liquidation Subcommittee of the Legal Policy Committee. He has been a Vice President for Kuehne + Nagel Inc. for 30 of his 32 years with the company.

Douglas BarryDoug Barry is a Senior Trade Specialist, U.S. Commercial Service, the Global Business

Solutions Unit of the Department of Commerce. Based in Washington, D.C., he counsels U.S. companies on starting and increasing sales to global markets. Since joining the Service in 1998, he has served as an international trade specialist in the Russia/New Independent States office, director of corporate partnerships, director of marketing and communications, acting executive director of trade promotion programs and commercial officer at U.S. embassies in Thailand, Singapore and China. His most recent edited book, A Basic Guide to Exporting, was published this year by the U.S. Department of Commerce.

From 1976-97, Mr. Barry was on the faculty of the University of Alaska Anchorage. He taught in several different disciplines and served as executive director of the Alaska Center for International Business, which included the World Trade Center Alaska and the American Russian Center, which established small business development centers in the Russian Far East. During this period, he was a consultant on Asian markets for the Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Barry was a producer for ABC News, based in New York and London. He has won numerous national awards for his television documentary work.

Mr. Barry holds a bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University, a master’s from New York University, and a doctorate from Columbia University. He lives in Takoma Park, Maryland, with his wife Liz and daughters Alana and Danielle.

Bob Berczik Bob Berczik is a Program Analyst with the International Policy Division in the Office of

Policy and Program Development (OPPD). In this position, he develops policy for import issues relating to food safety and food defense, including advising Division Directors and FSIS Assistant Administrators concerning FSIS issues on import food safety matters and on-going involvement with foreign trading partners, international and domestic organizations.

Other duties include serving as the Agency's System Administrator of the Import Alert Tracking System (IATS) as well as working with the development and deployment team of the import module with the Public Health Information System (PHIS).

A native of the state of Maryland, Mr. Berczik began his career with the Food Safety and Inspection Service in 1991, having previously held positions of Food Inspector and Compliance Officer with the Maryland Department of Agriculture. Prior to civil service at the State and Federal levels, Mr. Berczik spent several years working in the meat/food industry as a butcher and meat-cutter employed by a medium-sized processing facility, as well as freelancing with regional supermarket chain stores.

Leman G. "Chip" Bown, Jr. As Managing Director of Regulatory Compliance for FedEx Trade Networks Transport &

Brokerage, Inc., a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation based in Buffalo, NY, Leman (Chip) Bown Jr. is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the regulatory compliance division of the company. FedEx Trade Networks is one of North America's largest-volume customs entry filers and a leading provider of global cargo distribution, trade advisory services, and value-added logistics solutions.

Mr. Bown has worked in the customs brokerage field for 40 years and has been with FedEx Trade Networks since 1972. He is active in the international trade community both on the national level and in the Buffalo area. Most notably he is the past President of the Northern Border Customs Brokers Association, past Chair of the Customs Committee, and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Mr. Bown also serves as the Chair of the Large Broker and Forwarder Committee for the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of America, Inc.

Doug BrittinDoug Brittin joined the TSA Air Cargo Office in June 2007. He has held senior sales and

marketing positions within the transportation and logistics industry at companies such as Bax Global, Panalpina, and Menlo Worldwide (Emery). In his capacity, as Manager of Air Cargo Programs, Mr. Brittin manages a staff of 50 headquarter security experts, program managers and contractors. In addition to leadership and managing responsibilities, he is responsible for developing, staffing, training and equipping the Certified Cargo Screening Program. Mr. Brittin is a graduate of the University of Denver.

Michael Brown Michael Brown is the Executive Vice President of, and a partner in, Avalon Risk

Management, Inc., a national insurance brokerage specializing in International and Domestic Transportation Liability Insurance, Customs & Transportation Bonds, Cargo and other lines of insurance. Mr. Brown has primary responsibility for Avalon's sales and marketing efforts. This includes oversight of Avalon's National Accounts, Marketing and Trade Relations departments as well as coordination of sales activities at Avalon's 11 offices throughout the United States and Canada.

As one of Avalon's founding managers, Mr. Brown opened the company's Boston office in 1998. He served as Regional Vice President in Boston for seven years and then as Senior Vice President – Sales from 2005 until July 1, 2008, when he was promoted to his current position. Prior to his involvement with Avalon Risk Management, Inc., Mr. Brown worked for another transportation focused insurance broker (1991-1998) as a Regional Vice President. He holds degrees from Purdue University. Mr. Brown is active in various regional and national trade and transportation associations.

Carol CaveCarol Cave is the Director of the Office of Import Surveillance and Inspection for the U.S.

Consumer Product Safety Commission. She is actively involved in developing the agency's Risk Assessment Methodology for Imported Products and serves as the agency representative on the Border Interagency Executive Committee. Mrs. Cave has an extensive career with the CPSC. Prior to becoming the Director, she had the vital role as the Director for the Field Investigations Division.

She worked in the Office of Compliance on the Special Investigations Unit identifying hazards not previously reported to the CPSC and solving technically complex product investigations. She works with other Federal government agencies to identify unique approaches and solutions to flush out potentially defective consumer products. Mrs. Cave has spoken before many trade groups to explain new import enforcement authorities as required under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) and has received numerous awards and honors. Mrs. Cave received the World Customs Organization Award for the Importer Self Assessment Product Safety Pilot Program.

Michael V. Cerny Michael V. Cerny is the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of Global Customs &

Trade Specialists, Inc. Global is a licensed Customs Broker specializing in duty drawback services and duty refund programs.

Mr. Cerny is also a customs attorney, admitted to the United States Court of International Trade, and a principal in Cerny Associates, P.C. He is a member of the Customs & International Trade Bar Association, the American Bar Association Section of International Law & Practice, the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He is the Chair of the Drawback Committee for the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America, Inc., and is a member of the Nominating, Drawback and Customs Committees of the American Association of Exporters & Importers.

In addition, Mr. Cerny is a member of the U.S. Customs & Border Protection Trade Support Network (TSN) and was selected by CBP to serve as a TSN Trade Ambassador. He is on the TSN's Legal Policy Committee, Entry Committee and Subcommittee on Drawback.

Mr. Cerny received a B.A. degree from the University at Albany, and his J.D. degree from Albany Law School. Mr. Cerny has written for industry publications and speaks frequently on drawback and customs compliance issues.

Roger Clarke Roger Clarke was born in Long Beach, CA and grew up in the South Bay area of Los

Angeles County. He attended Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Production Management. After pursuing a career in Industrial Engineering in the Chicago, Illinois area, Mr. Clarke returned to the Los Angeles and joined Williams Clarke Company, Inc., an 87-year-old full service family owned customs brokerage business. He has been a licensed Customs Broker since 1967, is a licensed Ocean Transportation Intermediary, an NCBFAA Certified Customs Specialist and Certified Export Specialist. As President of Williams Clarke Company, Inc. he has the opportunity to offer his many years of experience in international trade to the importing and exporting community.

Mr. Clarke is presently serving as Board Chairman of The Los Angeles Customs Broker and Freight Forwarders Association, Inc. He is a past Director of the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America, Inc., and also serves as Chair of the Regulatory Agencies Committee. He is a member of the National Fisheries Institute, California Fisheries & Seafood Institute, and the Foreign Trade Association of Southern California.

Mr. Clarke has worked many years with the Los Angeles District Food and Drug Administration offices to foster better understanding and communications between the agency and the many industries it regulates.

Brian M. ConradBrian M. Conrad is currently based in Oakland, California as Executive Administrator of

both the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) and the Westbound Transpacific Stabilization

Agreement (WTSA), research and discussion groups of container shipping lines operating in the trade between Asia and the U.S.

He is also President of Transpacific Carrier Services, Inc., a non-profit provider of administrative services to TSA and WTSA, and serves as Executive Administrator of two affiliated transpacific agreements in the Canada-Asia trade, the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CTSA) and Canada Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (CWTSA).

Mr. Conrad has been with TSA and WTSA since 1997, when he joined those groups as Administrator/Secretary. He became Deputy Executive Director in 1999 and served in that capacity until 2007, when both groups underwent organizational restructuring to increase direct member carrier management participation.

Prior to 1997, Mr. Conrad was based in Hong Kong and served as Managing Director for the Asia North America Eastbound Rate Agreement (ANERA), a carrier group that set rates and negotiated annual Asia-U.S. service contracts on behalf of members. He served in various positions within ANERA since the group’s inception in 1985, including four years as General Manager from 1989-93, and as Managing Director from 1993-97.

Concurrent with his ANERA duties, Mr. Conrad had been chairman or secretary to other Hong Kong and intra-Asia shipping agreements, and Secretary for the Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association.

Mr. Conrad is a native of Hong Kong and a graduate of the University of Surrey in Guilford, England.

Jeffrey CoppersmithJeff Coppersmith is President of Coppersmith Inc. and President of the NCBFAA. Mr.

Coppersmith has been active in NCBFAA as an area director, Freight Forwarding Chair, Annual Conference Chairman, Treasurer and Vice President. Mr. Coppersmith also served on the Board of the Los Angeles Brokers Association, Chairman of the Los Angeles World Trade Week, and also served as Chairman of the Pacific Coast Council. Coppersmith Inc. is celebrating 60 years in business.

Started by his grandmother Adrienne, Jeff and his brother Bud are the third generation in the family business. Coppersmith Inc. has acquired several companies in the last few years and now offers complete Global Logistics. Coppersmith Inc. has 11 offices throughout the United States and prides itself on the ability to give personal service with big time technology. Mr. Coppersmith, who received his brokers license in 1985 and has been President of Coppersmith since 2002, is married to Roberta and they have two grown sons.

Joe A. CortezJoe A. Cortez is the Chief for the Regulations, Outreach, and Education Branch with the

United States Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division. Since joining the Foreign Trade Division, he has been working on regulatory matters pertaining to the Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), the collection of the Electronic Export Information data, Voluntary Self Disclosures, and the FTR Mitigation Guidelines.

In addition, Mr. Cortez was instrumental in the development of the Foreign Trade Division’s Automated Export System (AES) compliance program. Because of his work on the FTR, he was a recipient of the Silver Medal Award, a prestigious honor bestowed on an individual by the Department of Commerce and recently received the Census Bureau’s Director’s Award for Innovation.

Mr. Cortez received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&I University-Kingsville, Texas and conducted his graduate studies at North Texas State University, George Washington

University and has a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University.

Richard DiNucciRichard DiNucci began his career with the U.S. Customs Service 21 years ago in the Port

of Baltimore in the Commercial Operations Division. He transferred to the Office of International Affairs at Customs Headquarters operations where he worked in the International Organizations and Agreements Branch. His primary responsibilities included work with the World Customs Organization on the Kyoto Convention to standardize customs entry and clearance processes globally, on cooperative efforts in law enforcement operations, and work on customs to customs mutual assistance agreements.

Mr. DiNucci returned to the field to work in the reorganized Customs Management Centers (CMCs now Director Field Operations offices) on trade enforcement issues and returned to Headquarters, Office of Field Operations after 5 years at the CMC. His responsibilities included the Low-Risk Importer Program, which, after 9/11, served as one of the foundational elements of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism initiative. He moved from the C-TPAT program to a position as the Special Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner of Customs and later was assigned to the Border and Transportation Security Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security. Upon completion of his assignment at the department, he oversaw the Commissioner’s Situation Room at Customs Headquarters while serving as the Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Anti-Terrorism. Prior to taking on his current responsibilities, Mr. DiNucci was the Director, Border Targeting and Analysis with oversight of CBP’s targeting systems.

Mr. DiNucci is from New York City and received a B.A. in History (Magna cum Laude) from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Cara FascioneCara Fascione is the Vice President of Sales at Omtool, Ltd., a leading provider of

document and information handling solutions known for its acclaimed AccuRoute platform that streamlines the capture, processing, distribution and archiving of paper and electronic documents for organizations of all sizes.

Ms. Fascione is responsible for the company’s sales teams focusing on the trade and logistics and healthcare vertical markets. She has a proven track record as an industry expert and has succeeded in creating brand recognition and significant presence within targeted business sectors. Ms. Fascione is currently assisting Logistics Service Providers in streamlining their operations by automating their shipment document processes to eliminate unnecessary paper whenever possible and improve the effectiveness of employees when it comes to handling the masses of documentation required to process shipments, all while improving visibility and tightening up compliance.

Previously, Ms. Fascione was the Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Kewill (formerly TradePoint Systems and ASA International) where she specialized in remaining current with highly evolving market trends within the International Trade industry and concentrated on using a consultative approach to provide competitive and unique software solutions to her customers. Her initial professional expertise was in system consulting, software implementations and EDI services where she focused on elevating the quality of the company’s software and service solutions, while continuously increasing her industry knowledge and skill set.

Lenny Feldman Lenny Feldman is the Managing Member of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A.'s Miami

office, working to resolve complex issues pertaining to a myriad of issues in trade logistics, and

assisting clients with regulatory issues involving import compliance and enforcement with nearly a dozen government agencies.

Mr. Feldman is a leader in educating business officials and key Florida elected officials on the local, state and federal levels concerning international trade and business reform. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Feldman was a senior attorney with the U.S. Customs Service (now CBP) in Washington, D.C. from 1991-2000. He handled domestic and international issues, issued hundreds of national guidelines, directives, and administrative rulings, and has been recognized by the Vice President of the United States, the World Customs Organization, and numerous countries for his efforts.

An active business member in Miami, he was named the Best of Miami in International Business 2009 by Miami Today, and was the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders "2008 Person of the Year" and continues to serve with various associations and committees as well as speaking engagements.

Mr. Feldman holds a J.D. from the University of Florida and a B.A. in Economics, Anthropology, and Spanish from Emory University. He is a member of the bar in Florida and New York.

Rebecca FennemanRebecca A. Fenneman was named General Counsel of the Federal Maritime Commission

on May 23, 2010. Prior to that appointment, she served the Commission as Deputy General Counsel, Deputy Director, Bureau of Trade Analysis and as principal attorney-advisor for International Affairs in the Office of the General Counsel. Ms. Fenneman joined the Commission’s Office of the General Counsel in 1998, after serving for two years as a Research Fellow for the American Bar Association’s Central and East European Law Initiative.

Ms. Fenneman is a graduate of the University of Virginia (History), in Charlottesville, Virginia, and of the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a member of the Maryland Bar and President of the Maritime Administrative Bar Association.

Janet B. Fields Janet B. Fields began her career with John S. James Co. in 1974. She advanced from

export administrator to office manager and now holds the position of corporate director of Human Resources at John S. James Co. as well as managing their Savannah office. Ms. Fields became a licensed Customs Broker in 1988, a Certified Ocean Forwarder in 1997, a Certified Customs Specialist in 2006 and a Certified Export Specialist in 2009. Ms. Fields has served as President of the Savannah Brokers & Forwarders Association and is now the Legislative Chairman.

Ms. Fields formerly represented the Southeastern United States (Area 4) on the Board of Directors of the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association. She is currently the Area 4 representative on the NCBFAA Freight Forwarding Committee, and the Chairman of the NCBFAA Educational Institute.

Ms. Fields resides in Savannah, Georgia with her husband, Billy. They have two grown sons and one daughter in college. Ms. Fields holds a 1st degree black belt in Karate, which sometimes comes in handy in this industry.

Brandon Fried Brandon Fried has more than 30 years of experience in the airfreight forwarding industry

and is from Washington, D.C.

While a forwarder, Mr. Fried joined the Airforwarders Association and was soon elected Chairperson in 2001. He served two consecutive terms as Chair and remained an active member of the Board of Directors.

In November of 2005, Mr. Fried was appointed to serve as the new executive director of the Airforwarders Association. As executive director, Mr. Fried represents the Association on all security matters and recently was appointed by Department of Homeland Security Secretary to serve on the Aviation Security Advisory Committee (ASAC) working group in counsel to the Transportation Security Administration. He serves on the advisory Board of CNS, an IATA company to represent forwarder interests. He also advocates for the industry in the halls of Congress, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Mr. Fried is a recognized expert on the air cargo industry and regularly comments for major trade publications such as The Journal of Commerce and Air Cargo World. He also continues to educate and advocate for forwarders in national publications, including The Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Los Angeles Times, The Miami Herald and USA Today, and has appeared on National Public Radio, CNN News and C-SPAN's Washington Journal television shows.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Mr. Fried holds a master's degree in business administration and lives in Chevy Chase, Md. with his wife Kim and two children, Evan and Jordan.

Pat FosberryPat Fosberry started his career with John S. James Co. in 1983 in the export department.

As the Corporate Export and Transportation Manager, his responsibilities include oversight of regulatory issues and compliance for all exports; import, export and domestic transportation; hazardous material training and compliance; and agency partnerships. He served on the Board of Directors of Global Logistics Associates, the JSJ worldwide agency partner network and was President of their NVOCC GlobeTrans, Inc. Currently he is the President of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Charleston, S.C., Inc., serves on the Board of Directors of the Charleston Port and Seafarers Society, and in 2012 was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to the South Carolina District Export Council. For 15 years he has taught “The Export Move” and “Letters of Credit” classes at the Intermodal Program at the College of Charleston, and has previously taught industry-related classes at the University of South Carolina, Trident Technical College and The Citadel.

Allen GinaIn March, 2011, Allen Gina was appointed Assistant Commissioner, Office of International

Trade (OT), CBP, DHS. Prior to that starting in November, 2008, he served as Assistant Commissioner, Office of International Affairs (INA) –. From October 2007 to November 2008, Mr. Gina was the Deputy Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Intelligence and Operations Coordination (OIOC). From June 2004 to October 2007, Mr. Gina was the Executive Director overseeing the Container Security Initiative and Secure Freight Initiative offices. From February 2003 to May 2004, Mr. Gina was detailed to the Directorate of Border and Transportation Security to help setup the new DHS. While at DHS he served as Director of Agency Coordination, and is currently a career member of the Senior Executive Service.

Mr. Gina began his career in 1983 as a Customs Inspector for the U.S. Customs Service. Throughout his career, Mr. Gina has held numerous managerial positions including Supervisor and Chief Inspector, Program Manager of the Anti-Smuggling Division, Director of the Industry Partnership Programs, Director of the Outbound Programs and Director of the Office of Border Security.

In 2008 the President of the United States conferred the rank of Meritorious Executive on Mr. Gina for relentless commitment to excellence in public service.

Daniel GluckDaniel Gluck is a Partner in the law firm of Simon Gluck & Kane LLP. He is member of the

New York Bar and has appeared before the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is a former instructor for Pace University's World Trade Institute, (“WTI”) and the City University of New York, Baruch College, and has lectured at several Embassies and government agencies, the Fashion Institute of Technology and at several importing companies. Additionally, he has authored numerous articles on the subject of Customs and International Trade Law appearing in the New York Law Journal; World Wide Shipping Magazine; Global Trade Magazine; the U.S. Customs House Guide; and the North American Free Trade Guide. He has also been a featured guest on Sky Radio discussing the Customs Modernization Act.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Gluck was an Attorney Advisor to the U.S. Customs Service. Mr. Gluck is entering his 23rd year of private practice, concentrating in the area of Customs and International Trade Law.

In addition to practice before U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Commerce Department, Mr. Gluck has represented clients in matters involving the Environmental Protection Agency, Food & Drug Administration, U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Trade Representative, Federal Trade Commission, International Trade Commission, Department of Agriculture, Consumer Product Safety Commission, Fish & Wildlife Service, and the Patent & Trademark Office.

Fred Klemashevich Fred Klemashevich, chair of the NCBFAA Automation Subcommittee and is managing

director of applications development at FedEx Trade Networks. He is responsible for all Information Technology (IT) brokerage initiatives for the United States.

Mr. Klemashevich joined FedEx Trade Networks (formerly Tower Group) in 1990, as a program analyst. In 1993 he was promoted to Lead Programmer and then to Manager of Applications Development.

In 2001, he took on the role of Managing Director of Information Systems, and has coordinated the development of the automated clearance systems used across all of FTN's business units.

A native of Buffalo, New York, Mr. Klemashevich earned his degree in Computer Science from SUNY at Buffalo.

Alan Klestadt Alan R. Klestadt is a partner in the law firm of Grunfeld, Desiderio, Lebowitz, Silverman &

Klestadt LLP. The firm, with offices in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Boston and Hong Kong, has more than 40 lawyers on staff, all devoted exclusively to the practice of customs and international trade law.

While attending law school, Mr. Klestadt successfully sat for his customs broker's license and received his license in 1981. Mr. Klestadt graduated from law school in 1983 and was elected to the partnership of his firm in 1989.

Mr. Klestadt currently serves as Customs Counsel to the NCBFAA, Inc.. As counsel to the NCBFAA, Mr. Klestadt provides guidance on regulatory and legislative proposals that impact the customs brokerage industry. He works closely with the executive officers of the Association and counsels brokerage clients on a wide variety of compliance issues.

He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and the Customs and International Trade Bar Association.

Amy Magnus Amy Magnus, Director of Customs Affairs and Compliance for A.N. Deringer, Inc. in

Champlain, NY, is a licensed Customs Broker, Certified Customs Specialist, and Certified Export Specialist. She also serves as the secretary for the NCBFAA and is the former President of the Northern Border Customs Brokers Association in addition to being an ACE Trade Ambassador working with The Trade Support Network.

Prior to becoming a Customs Broker, Ms. Magnus worked for US Customs Service for eighteen years. When she left Customs, she was the Trade Manager in the Champlain NY Area Service Port. During her career, she worked with various Customs HQ Offices in Washington, DC assisting in drafting policies and procedures as they related to NAFTA, Compliance Measurement, The Customs Modernization ACT, Enforcement and other trade sensitive issues. Ms. Magnus is a former Fines, Penalties, and Forfeiture Officer, and in her early years with US Customs served as an inspector and import specialist.

Ms. Magnus has a BA and an advanced teaching degree from the University of Vermont.

Dan Meylor Dan Meylor began his career in 1971 as a messenger at the L.A. International Airport. He

joined Carmichael International Service in 1996 and is now the Customs Administration Manager for Carmichael. Mr. Meylor is active in the Trade Community. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association.

Mr. Meylor is the Vice-Chair of the NCBFAA Customs Committee and a member of several other Committees of the NCBFAA. He is also an active member of several other trade organizations, both local and national.

Mary Jo Muoio Mary Jo Muoio is Sr. Vice President, Trade Services, OHL Global Freight Management

and Logistics. Before assuming leadership of the consulting division, Ms. Muoio was a Senior Vice-President of Barthco International, Inc., a leading customs broker and forwarder. Ms. Muoio has been with OHL for over 25 years. She is a licensed customs broker, having passed the exam with the highest score in the nation.

Ms. Muoio is a past president of the Philadelphia Association and NCBFAA, and is currently Chairman of the Board of the NCBFAA. Before being elected as the first female president of the NCBFAA, she held numerous leadership positions in the NCBFAA, along with other local and national associations and committees. Currently, she is on the Board of Governors with the New York / New Jersey Association, and on the Security Filing subcommittee and represents the International Federation of Customs Brokers Association Private Sector Consultative Group Working Group on 10 + 2.

She currently serves on the TSN Entry, Legal Policy and International Trade Data Systems committees. She recently concluded two terms on the Board of the Maritime Association of the Port

Before joining OHL, she taught at the college level in Japan. Ms. Muoio is a graduate of Saint Joseph's University with a degree in International Relations.

Peter Quinter Peter Quinter is the Partner in Charge of the Customs and International Trade Law Group

at the law firm of GrayRobinson, P.A. based in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, FL. GrayRobinson is one of the largest and fastest growing, full-service law firms in Florida. Mr. Quinter is Board Certified in International Law by the Florida Bar, is listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the area of "FDA Law" by U.S. News and World Report magazine, and was recognized several times as one of Florida's Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine. Mr. Quinter has successfully litigated cases in the U.S. Court of International Trade, and is rated 10 of 10 by Avvo. Mr. Quinter defends individuals and companies against fraud allegations, and other civil and criminal investigations and penalties by CBP, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

Mr. Quinter is active in the leadership of the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). He is a frequent lecturer around the world on the topics of import, export, customs, and international trade compliance and enforcement generally. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Quinter was an attorney working for U.S. Customs in the Office of Chief Counsel.

Kelly Raia Kelly Raia has been involved in freight forwarding and customhouse brokerage for more

than 20 years. Ms. Raia owned and managed Armac Transportation for 10 years. This business specialized in customs clearances of time sensitive shipments such as live animals, aircraft parts, chemicals and various perishable products.

Ms. Raia joined FSI/American River in 1996. During this time she has worked as a senior account manager leading to managing the international department including global export and import operations. In 1997 Ms. Raia assumed various consulting responsibilities and became ARI's in-house specialist for import/export compliance. She has worked on some major accounts assisting their staff in global logistics, compliance management and working on the various international and government web sites for compliance resources.

Ms. Raia has also developed various in-house programs for management training, utilizing technology in importing and exporting and in developing skills for import/export compliance management. She has lectured at the World Trade Institute and supports Tom Cook and Rennie Alston for the many courses and programs they deliver on various international logistics and compliance matters.

Ms. Raia is a licensed customhouse broker, haz-mat certified and TSA Security training approved. Ms. Raia attended Long Island University, C.W. Post campus as well as Nassau Community College where she has taken many courses in business and communication. She is the Import/Export Compliance Officer, Vice President and Associate Partner at American River International and serves on the executive committee.

Leonard C. Roberts Leonard C. Roberts was President of Miami International Forwarders Group (MIF), having

joined his family owned, full service logistics provider in 1974. The company was sold to EGL, Inc. in 2003. Mr. Roberts stayed on as a Vice-President of EGL, Inc., until retiring in 2004. In the

summer of 2008, Mr. Roberts became one of the founding members of Miami International Freight Solutions (MIFS).

Mr. Roberts has been a licensed U.S. Customs Broker since 1978. Mr. Roberts graduated from Florida International University in 1979 with a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree and completed the Owner/President Management Program (OPM) at Harvard University in 1993.

Mr. Roberts is married to Dr. Elaine Klein and has two children, Benjamin, 17, and Matthew, 15.

Darrell Sekin Darrell J. Sekin Jr. is the president of DJS International Services, Inc., an international

freight forwarder, customs broker and NVOCC located in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. Sekin established DJS International in 1985, after spending over 15 years working at a customs brokerage founded by his father. He has over 40 years of experience in the industry.

Mr. Sekin is the Vice President of NCBFAA, Inc., and has been an active member for nearly three decades. He served on the Customs committee for more than 10 years and was chairman of the NCBFAA Educational Institute committee as well as serving on various other association sub-committees.

Mr. Sekin earned a bachelors degree in business management from LeTourneau University. He and his wife, Marty, are lifelong, native Texans and have been members of St. Michaels Catholic Community for more than 30 years. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Brenda Smith Brenda Smith became Executive Director, Trade Policy and Programs, Office of

International Trade, at US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in August 2007. In this position, she leads CBP's strategic efforts to facilitate and administer priority trade issues such as IPR, textiles, import safety and anti-dumping. The Trade Policy and Programs organization also develops customs policy guidance for CBP's field personnel and the trade and oversees partnership efforts such as the Account Management and Importer Self Assessment programs.

Since joining the US Customs Service in 1994, Ms. Smith has worked with trade and border enforcement issues in the Office of Policy and Planning, Office of Strategic Trade and Office of Finance. Most recently, she directed CBP's international cooperation policy and program efforts in the Office of International Affairs. Before joining Customs, Ms. Smith worked at the Department of the Treasury and on Capitol Hill. Ms. Smith holds a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Economics from Rutgers University. She is also a graduate of the Customs Leadership Institute and the Federal Executive Institute, and was a Fellow at the Council for Excellence in Government.

Andrew R. Spector Andrew R. Spector, an Emory University graduate, is a partner at Arnall Golden Gregory

LLP and heads its Miami office. Mr. Spector serves as the chair of the Logistics and Transportation Practice and practices in the firm's litigation, international business, and complex insurance services groups. He focuses his practice on international trade litigation and cargo law. His clients include global logistics providers, ocean transportation intermediaries, indirect air carriers, air carriers, non-vessel operating common carriers, property brokers, third party logistics providers, customs brokers and international businesses, as well as cargo legal liability and general liability insurers, errors and omissions insurers and first-party cargo insurers in the transportation and cargo realm.

Mr. Spector has established landmark precedents in the international trade, logistics and transportation arena in cases and coined the phrase "travel agent for cargo," in establishing the bright-line legal standard to define logistics services. Further, Mr. Spector has created cutting edge and cost effective claim strategies and risk management models for insurers and logistics companies. He has utilized his detailed comprehension of the logistics industry in fostering the emergence of precedent setting cases from courts throughout the United States. This experience enables Mr. Spector to also provide proactive planning advice to multinational logistics companies and transport providers in their daily business endeavors to minimize liability and risk.

Anthony Taube Anthony Taube graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1988, majoring in

Microbiology. After a brief stint working in regulated industry as a microbiologist, Mr. Taube started his FDA career as a Field Investigator in Detroit District in August 1988. With more than 23 years of FDA experience, Mr. Taube has served in several capacities. He spent four years as an Investigator, nine years as a Supervisory Investigator, supervising a group of Investigators that included both Import and Domestic personnel in Detroit, three years as a National Field Trainer, and the last six plus years at the Prior Notice Center (PNC).

In June 2004, Mr. Taube accepted a Watch Commander position at the PNC. He held that position for 11 months before accepting the PNC Deputy Director position in May 2005. In August 2010, Mr. Taube became the Director of the PNC.

Domenic J. Veneziano Captain Domenic Veneziano has been with the FDA for 21 years and has a B.S. degree in

Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono. He has been the Director of the Division of Import Operations and Policy since March, 2005. He is responsible for setting policy, providing leadership, guidance, and direction to more than 500 field investigators covering over 320 ports of entry across the country. He provides guidance to all offices within the Agency and has been the spokesperson to the U.S. Congress when called to testify on cases related to import operations.

He co-leads implementation of many of the Food Safety Modernization Act import provisions and provides guidance on all others that impact imported products.

He began his career as a field investigator in the New England District, specializing in Medical Device inspections, where he conducted inspections both in the domestic and international arena. He later became a Supervisory Investigator in New England overseeing the Medical Device and import programs. In August of 2003, Captain Veneziano became the first Director of the Prior Notice Center. As required under the Bioterrorism Act of 2002, he established, staffed and directed FDA's first 24/7/365 operational office.

Michael White Mr. White is the Assistant Director of Cargo Facilitation, Security and Standards for Cargo

Network Services (CNS) and Regional Manager of Cargo for the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Based in Miami, Florida, Mr. White is helping lead the air cargo industry's efforts in Secure Freight, e-freight, data quality and timeliness and government issues related to air cargo in the Americas. He is called upon frequently by industry and government officials for official viewpoints and to speak on behalf of CNS and IATA.

His experience includes COO of SkyLink USA, President of Trade Network Consultants, Head of Cargo at the Air Transport Association of America, Regional VP of Cargo Service Center, Manager of Cargo Services and Product DevelopmentWorldwide for United Airlines.

Mr. White was also a senior representative for the trade during the development of the U.S. known shipper program, the indirect air carrier program, the Customs Trade Partnership program and the Container Security Initiative to help secure the supply chain after the events of TWA 800 and Sept. 11, 2001. He served as an advisor to the U.S. government and the International Civil Aviation Organization on customs, security and other air cargo related issues.

Mr. White was selected in 2011 by US Customs and Border Protection as a Trade Ambassador and also serves on several committees of their Trade Support Network. He also is the air cargo Chair of the Customs Electronic Senior Advisory Committee.

Melzie Wilson Melzie Wilson is Vice President of Compliance for Mallory Alexander International

Logistics. Mallory Alexander is a complete logistics company offering services in customs brokerage, domestic and international freight forwarding, NVOCC, warehousing, FTZ operations and consulting. She is a Licensed Customs Broker, a Certified Customs Specialist, and a Certified Export Specialist. Ms. Wilson is an active member of the National Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of America, Inc., the Customs and Border Protection Trade Support Network, CESAC, and the Memphis World Trade Club. As a member of the NCBFAA, she is Co-Chair of the Ocean Carriers Best Practices Committee under the Customs Committee and Chair of the Freight Forwarding Committee under the Transportation Committee.

An avid fan of University of Memphis Basketball and the New Orleans Saints, Ms. Wilson still finds time to volunteer with the Memphis In May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. A longtime volunteer, she is serving as Vice Chair of the event for 2012. She is also a contest representative of the barbecue sanctioned organization, Memphis Barbecue Network.

Thomas WinkowskiMr. Winkowski was named acting Deputy Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border

Protection (CBP) on Dec. 30, 2011. Acting as a Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Winkowski overseas the daily operations of CBP's 60,000 employees, and to ensure the core mission of the CBP is effectively implemented.

Prior to being named Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Winkowski served as Assistant Commissioner, Office of Field Operations in 2007, serving a number of critical positions prior to that. Having joined U.S. Customs Service as a cooperative education student in 1975, Mr. Winkowski brings decades of experience to the position.

Mr. Winkowski has pushed for changes to CBP operations, from biometrics to inspection imaging systems, and has helped modernize operations using high tech solutions.

Mr. Winkowski was awarded the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award by President Bush in 2004. In 2009, he was awarded the Distinguished Executive Presidential Rank Award by President Obama.
