New Student Orientation – Time to Get Started

New Student Orientation is MANDATORY for all first-time freshmen.

What happens at orientation?Orientation is a two-part program that takes place over two separate days. Your program fee includes

attendance at both sessions below, a university catalog, student handbook, orientation resource guide,

orientation materials, plus lunch at each session.

Part 1: New Student Orientation

n Receive general education and major academic advisement (mandatory for all first-time freshmen).

n Learn to navigate your Student Portal, as well as the Titan Online registration system.

n Register for your fall 2012 classes.

n Obtain your official CSUF Student ID – the TitanCard.

You must attend the entire session in order to be eligible to register for fall courses.

Orientation sessions run from 8 a.m. until approximately 5 p.m.

Part 2: Student Life Orientation

n Attend interactive workshops and get tips on how to be successful at Cal State Fullerton.

n Participate in a campuswide text message scavenger hunt.

n Meet other new students and build a network of valuable campus contacts at a resource fair.

n Take a campus tour and purchase your textbooks.

How do I sign up?Visit fullerton.edu/orientation for more information and to sign up for all of our orientation programs.

If you plan to attend Cal State Fullerton in the fall,

you must sign up and pay $85 for a New Student

Orientation session no later than Thursday, May 17,

2012 at 5 p.m. Signing up for orientation finalizes

your intent to attend CSUF. If you do not sign up for

a NSO session date, you risk losing your admission

offer to the university.

What do I need to do?First, you must accept your admission to Cal State

Fullerton, and pay the $250 enrollment deposit by

May 1, 2012. This step must be completed before

you can sign up for New Student Orientation. (Allow

48 hours for processing the enrollment deposit before

signing up for your NSO session.)
