2012 Lenovo Server Client Performs All Steps from ISP Machine

1. Check the ISP CD/DVD drive and remove any disks that are currently loaded.

2. Log onto the Windows side of the ISP and go to the QsrSoft website (either use the Whitelist page and click on QsrSoft, or double-click on the Internet Explorer icon and go to QsrSoft).

a. If you are unable to log onto the ISP or access the internet, please contact your ISP Support (Xerox - 800-515-3636) to have them give you a password and/or get your internet connection working.

3. Once logged into QsrSoft, please go to Support >> Backup/Recovery.

a. If you do not see this page, you do not have access. Please contact your top QsrSoft-User in your organization and have them allow access in your profile.

4. Click on the link to View/Print Recovery Steps.

a. You may select print or you can then leave the pop-up window with the Recovery steps open while you proceed.

5. Select the national store number from the location drop-down.

6. Write down the "Backup Date" from the backup you have chosen to recover (the most recent/closest dates will be on top).

Date of Backup: (Write the date of the backup in this box)

7. Click on DOWNLOAD next to the date you have selected.

8. A pop-up will appear that will ask you to confirm your National Store Number that you are downloading. Type in that store number and click "Continue"

a. If you type the National Store Number incorrectly, a prompt will inform you. You will click on "OK" and go back to step 7 to start download again.

9. If at any time you see the following message or any error message displays, you MUST click OK .

10. Click the Save drop down arrow (arrow next to Save)

This will bring up the “Save As” option.

Now click on “Save As”

11. A pop-up box will appear where you can choose to save the file to a specific location. If you click the drop-down arrow in the "Save in" area at the top, you can then scroll down and select "Recover on 10.0.0.51\Ispconfig (S:)".

a. If you are unable to save the file to this s: drive location, please contact ISP Support (Xerox – 800-515-3636).

12. After you have selected the correct location, do NOT rename the file or file type. Simply click "Save" in the lower right.

13. When the "Download Complete" message appears click "Close". Before starting the ISP Recovery in the next step wait for 2-3 minutes to allow downloaded file to be recognized by the ISP.

14. The remaining steps are performed on the ISP. IF AT ANY TIME FROM THIS POINT FORWARD YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR ISSUES, PLEASE CONTACT ISP SUPPORT (XEROX) FOR ASSISTANCE AT 800-515-3636.

15. Log onto the ISP.

16. From the main menu, select <Option G>, ISP Malfunction/Backup/Recovery.

17. Select <Option E>, Backup/Recovery.

18. Select <Option B>, Recovery.

19. The process will begin and a message will say "Please Wait Recovering the most recent ISP backup". If the ISP fails and does not find the file please confirm the file is saved in "Recover on 10.0.0.51\Ispconfig (S:)" and named correctly and then restart the process.

20. A message will appear that says "The system files will be restored to the following..."

a. Look at the "Backup Date" at the bottom….it should within a day of (or match) the date you wrote down in step 6 from the QsrSoft website.

i. If it does, type "C" to continue and enter. Then go to step 20.

b. If it does not match that date, hit "R" to restart and search for the date you wrote down. Continue to do this until you pull up the date you are looking for from step 6 and once found, hit "C" to continue.

21. A message will then appear that says "Recovery in Progress. Please wait..."

22. A message will then appear that says "Files between Registers and the ISP are being compared and

copied..."

a. If you see a message that says "!Unsuccessful Recovery! The registers/ISP copy compare has not completed…."

i. Simply select "E" to exit.

23. If you then get a "!System Error! A system error was detected..."

a. Simply hit "ESC" to move past this screen message.

24. You may see a message that says "Files restored are in a Store Open Status... Do You want to run Clear Open Date Y/N".

a. Always select "Y" for yes.

25. You may see a message that says "Warning the store is open for <date> - if you continue... Are you sure you want to clear all system activity for <date> Y/N".

a. Always select "Y".

26. You may see a screen that says "Clear Open Date Purge Report... save for your records..."

a. Simply hit <ESC> on your keyboard and when asked "Do you want to print the report before it is deleted Y/N"...select "N".

27. A message will then appear that says "Recovery Successful".

a. Type "E" to exit.

28. A message will appear that says "!Warning! Your user ID and (or) SSN was not in the data recovered....you will be automatically logged off when you exit..."

a. Hit "ESC" to exit this screen.

29. The ISP reboot process will then begin. Do NOT do anything at this time.

30. A pop-up message will appear from "Message from Support..." and will say "The system must be rebooted to complete the configuration change..."

a. This is normal and you do not need to click OK or do anything as the system will continue on its own.

31. As the ISP is going through the reboot process, the Windows side will shut down as well. If any messages or pop-ups come up, you do not need to take action. The ISP will complete the reboot on its own.

32. Once the ISP reboot has completed, you can log in. The ISP may complete a few reboot steps at this time as well. Then you will be at the main menu.

33. Please look at the green dates on the main menu. Pay particular attention to the Store Open Date, POS Close Date, and Daily Close Date.

a. The dates there are the state the ISP is in at this time. It should be recovered to the date you wrote down in step 6, or the previous day.

b. If you see that you are at Store Open for a date after the Daily Close date and POS Close date, you will want to perform a "Clear Open Date" (Option G, ISP Malfunction/Backup/Recovery >> Option C, Clear Open Date).

34. The ISP is now recovered.

NOTE: Step 35 must be completed to finish the recovery!

35. It is very important to set store indicator if it was not set on the new ISP during recovery to indicate Y

(Yes) this is a store machine. Check this on the ISP by typing Set Store Indicator. It will take you to the screen

below and the first question must be Y (Yes). If it is not set change it now to yes.

Congratulations your recovery is complete!

QsrSoft Client Instructions ISP Recovery Instructions

Select the instructions based on the type of ISP: 2003 Dak Tech Server Perform All Steps:

1. Check the QsrSoft website to ensure you know the date of the backup you want to recover:

5. Check the ISP CD/DVD drive and remove any disks that are currently loaded. Confirm they are removed from

the CD/DVD before submitting a recovery support ticket.

7. Then Login and click on the <Support> tab and then click <Submit Support Ticket>. Enter the information that

you need a recovery and click <Save Changes> to submit. Be sure to include store number and the date of the

backup you want to recover which you noted in step 4.
