The OPERATION JUMPSTART (OJS) multicultural scholarship program was created toassist talented multicultural art direction and copywriting students with tuition to attend4A's-selected portfolio schools and colleges. The scholarship is underwritten by theAmerican Association of Advertising Agencies (aA's) Foundation with contributions frommember agencies. Scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 (dispersed in twoannual installments) are awarded to students, who exhibit extreme financial need andcreative talent. Applicants will be considered for a scholarship if they meet all of thefollowing criteria:

To be el igible, an applicant must:

. Be registered as an incoming graduate or portfolio school student at one of thesix designated OJS lV portfolio schools (Creative Circus, MiamiAd School,Portfolio Center, Pratt lnstitute, University of Texas at Austin, VCU Brandcenter)or a full-time junior at one of the two designated OJS lV colleges (MinneapolisCollege of Art & Design and Aft Center College of Design at Pasadena)

. Be American lndian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanicor Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific lslander, or Two or More Races (Seefollowing pages for descriptions of racial/ethnic categories,)

. Have extreme financial need

. Show creative talent and promise

. Be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.

. Maintain satisfactory academic and creative progress as determined by one'sschool, lf the scholarship recipient leaves the school by transferring or notcompleting the program, the scholarship will be revoked.
