Scranton Women's LacrosseScranton Women's LacrosseHead CoachBecky Davis

Becky Davis has been involved with The Univer-sity of Scranton's women's lacrosse team for eight of the program's 12 years.

A native of Aston, Penn-sylvania, Davis joined the Royal coaching staff in

2004 under then head coach Linda Drapeau and served in this capacity for three seasons. In her fi rst season on staff, Scranton won its second straight Middle Atlantic Conference title and advanced to the NCAA Division III championships for the second consecutive year to cap off a school-record 14-win campaign.

In her fi rst year as head coach, in 2007, the Royals won fi ve of their last seven games to qualify for the Middle Atlantic Conference tournament for the sev-enth straight year. In 2008, Scranton fi nished with an 8-8 overall record, including a 1-4 mark in its fi rst year as a member of the Landmark Conference, before posting an 8-7 record and advancing to the Land-mark Conference tournament as the number three seed in 2009.

This past season, the Royals won 10 games--the most for the program since 2006--and advanced to the Landmark Conference tournament for the second time in the league's four-year history.

Upon graduation from Sun Valley High School, where she was a four-year letter-winner and three-year starter on the girls’ lacrosse team, Davis enrolled at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She played two seasons of lacrosse and was the Dukes’ third-leading scorer during the 1998 season. She eventually transferred to West Chester University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and secondary education in May 2002. For two seasons (2000, 2001), she served as assistant coach of the girls’ lacrosse program at Strath Haven High School and was the head girls’ lacrosse coach at Chichester High School for one year, in 2002. She has also served as a volunteer coach for the Swarth-more Youth Lacrosse Program.

Becky and her husband, Jim, reside in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, with their son, Evan, and daughter, Morgan.
