Cheerleading Tryouts DatesJV and Varsity:

Tuesday, April 24th & Wednesday, April 25th– 2 hr clinic immediately after school in the cafeteria

Thursday, April 26th – tryouts immediately after school in the dance room **Results (numbers) posted on the LMHS website on Friday, April 27th after school

Freshmen:

Tuesday, May 29th & Wednesday, May 30th – 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. clinic in the field house

Thursday, May 31st –tryouts 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in the field house

**Results (numbers) posted on the LMHS website by Thursday evening

***FIRST MANDATORY FRESHMEN PRACTICE: Friday, 6/1 from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in the field house.

Tryout Information

Following items due Tuesday, April 24th:

Signed Commitment Form, Contact Information Form, Uniform rental agreement

Current School Physical forms

Must have a 2.0 or higher un-weighted GPA

*Rising Freshmen must also provide a copy of their transcripts

Selection Criteria

Judges Sheet – 600 points

Minimum of 2.0 un-weighted GPA

Number of cheerleaders selected for each team will be determined by the greatest point break

Varsity – (Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors)

JV – (Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors)

Freshmen – (Freshmen Only)

* At the conclusion of football season, the coaches may choose to add members to Varsity to compliment the competition team. Both Freshmen and JV members will be eligible if this situation occurs.

Requirements & Responsibilitiesfor Freshmen & JV Teams

Freshmen will cheer for Freshman Football and Basketball, unless added to the comp team after football season

JV will cheer for JV football and JV and Varsity Basketball

Maintain a minimum of 2.0 un-weighted GPA

Participation in ALL cheerleading activities and fundraisers

Attend ALL practices:

▪ JV –Starting the week of April 30th – 2 hr. practices Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays

▪ Freshmen & JV – Fall – 2 hr. practice on Tuesdays

▪ Can NOT be a member of the band half-time show (Band, Color Guard or Marionettes) if on Freshman or JV Cheer

Summer CampsComp Team Stunting Camp:

June 18th and 19th from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at LMHS

JV Stunting Camp:

July 11th and 12th from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. at LMHS

Overnight camp for ALL teams:

When: August 6th and 7th

Where: Daytona Plaza Resort

(Parents will need to provide transportation to and from camp; car-pooling is encouraged)

Summer Practices:

Varsity/Comp Tuesdays and Thursdays, JV/Freshmen Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at LMHS

Cheer for Basketball season (unless on comp team)

Compete in approx. 6 competitions

Participation in ALL cheerleading activities, fundraisers & community events

Attend ALL practices▪ Starting the week of April 30th –Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and

Thursdays directly after school for 2 hours▪ Fall – 2–3 days per week

Maintain 2.0 or higher GPA (unweighted)

Financial ObligationsRequired (due by the first practice):▪ $400 covers uniform rental, camp, practice clothes,

bows, poms, sweatshirt, shoes, bag (Freshmen), miscellaneous needs

Extras (purchased individually – more info to come)

▪ Warm-Up Jacket ▪ Rain Jacket

**COMP team is required to pay an additional $400

Fundraisers

MANDATORY!!

Run/walk in LMHS 5k Saturday, May 12th (JV and Varsity cheerleaders ONLY)

Stadium Cleanup

Parents Night Out

**Several Individual Fundraisers will be made available (e.g. Drive-A-Thon, sale of advertisements for the football program)

LMHS Cheer Ineligibility Guidelines and Citizenship Standards for Athletes

Tryout Results

JV and Varsity/Comp results will be posted on the LMHS website after school on Friday, April 27th.

Freshman results will be posted on Thursday, May 31st in the afternoon.

Results will be posted by number, not name. (Numbers will be assigned to you on the first day of tryouts).
