Annual Letter from the Trustees

The RubinBrown Charitable Foundation enables RubinBrown team members and friends to make a positive impact in our communities through contributions and taking part in fundraising activities. It’s easy to support the Foundation and experience core values of Teamwork, Devotion to our Community and Profession, and Having Fun! We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your great generosity. Together, we have been able to distribute over $120,000 to more than forty deserving organizations since the Foundation’s inception.

A list of donors from July 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013 is included in the annual report. We truly appreciate each and every contribution. Thanks to your support, we are pleased to announce that the Foundation has accumulated $652,463 in assets as of August 31, 2013.

Every donation received helps the Foundation meet our objectives:

• Improve public education by supporting programs that further public education in the Denver, Kansas City and Saint Louis regions.

• Support organizations that improve the infrastructure of the Denver, Kansas City and Saint Louis regions.

• Provide support to programs encouraging minorities to enter the public accounting profession.

• Support entrepreneurism in the Denver, Kansas City and Saint Louis regions.

In June 2013, the Foundation was excited to distribute gifts totaling $29,750 to twenty organizations. We are proud to be in our third year of a 5-year commitment to the Saint Louis Zoo Foundation and the first year of a 2-year commitment to the Urban League. Every organization is carefully selected to ensure its mission coincides with one or more of the Foundation objectives.

Special thanks to the Community Service Committee for hosting very successful events in Denver, Kansas City and Saint Louis to support the Foundation! The CSC contributed more than $5,000 this year through events like RubinBrown’s Run For the Town in Saint Louis, Denver’s Casino Night and the Annual Barbecue in Kansas City. Please join them at their next event! We would also like to acknowledge RubinBrown LLP for its match of contributions from June 2013 through August 2013 totaling $18,479.

Please continue to remember the RubinBrown Charitable Foundation in your giving plans!

Sincerely,

Jim Castellano, Trustee Judy Murphy, Trustee Steve Hays, Trustee
