Welcome Desk at the airport
Upon arrival at the airport, dedicated volun-
teers will meet you in the arrival zone.
Volunteers will escort you to your dedicated
transport bus to the hotel and regatta venue.
If you are bringing your own oars to Sydney and
Penrith, please tell as soon as possible. You
must book a transport with the OC to ensure
that they have suitable vehicles on standby.

tion provided by entering the regatta.

Liability
Participants are responsible for acquiring
insurance for their equipment and persons.
The OC shall not be held liable for any damages
incurred in the regatta venue area.
Team Medical Staff
Team medical staff (Doctors, etc) are required
to fill in the appropriate visiting medical pro-
fessionals forms to be authorised to practice
medicine in Australia. Please contact us imme-
diately if you intend to travel with a team doc-
tor.
OTHER INFORMATION
Reception
The Nations' Dinner will take place on
Saturday, 23 March at 20:00 hrs. Two repre-
sentatives from each federation are invited.
Weigh-in
Coxswains and lightweights have to weigh
in according to the FISA Rules of Racing. The
weighing centre opens two hours before the
start of the first race. The scales are located in
the Bay 3 of the Boathouse.

The timetable for the preliminary heats, repechages and semifinals depends on the number of entries
and therefore modifications are possible.
Please note that the Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) is for the first time ever, a combination of a
National Rowing Championships and a Samsung World Rowing Cup.
World Cup teams may also race in the Australian Open Rowing Championships in preparation for the World
Cup at no cost. Regatta Central entry details will be sent to each National Federation detailing that process.
Hotel rooms of different levels have been
reserved for all World Cup teams at Official
Organising Committee hotels. This informa-
tion has already been sent to Team Managers
from every Federation.
If you are still planning to race in Sydney but
have not contacted the Organising Committee
or FISA, please contact the OC urgently at:

dation options and bookings. Availability for
teams is now very limited.
Transport Service
Transport service will be provided ONLY for the
participants who have booked accommodation
through the organising Committee. It includes:
• Airport transfer to/from the hotels
• Oars/sculls transportation from the
airport to the venue and back will be
offered by booking request only to:
• Shuttle service from the hotels to the
regatta venue and back, operating from
18 March – 24 March
• Price: $20AUD per person
Meal Arrangements
All meals will be served at the OC hotels.
The teams also have an option to have break-
fast and lunch at the SIRC regatta course.
Orders must be placed (and paid) at least 24
hrs in advance.

GENERAL INFORMATION
DIRECTIONS TO THE REGATTA VENUE
The regatta venue address is:

By Airplane
London Heathrow is the nearest airport. It is
a distance of 23km (14 miles) from the course
and is approximately 20 minutes travelling time
by road. London Gatwick and London Luton
airports are also accessible to Dorney Lake.
Gatwick is a distance of 68km (42 miles) and
Luton is 66km (41 miles). Both airports are
approximately 90 minutes from the course by
road.
The official transport service will operate from
London Heathrow Airport only, and must be
booked through the Organising Committee.
By TrainEurostar, a high-speed passenger-only train
service operates from Paris, Brussels and Lille
to London St Pancras train station. The journey
from Paris to London St Pancras takes 2 hr 20
mins. There are connecting trains to Slough
and Taplow Stations from London Paddington
and to Windsor & Eton Riverside Station from
London Waterloo, follow the signs down to the
lake.
By Car
Eton Dorney is 5km (3 miles) from Junction 7
of the M4 motorway. The M4 connects central
London to Bristol in the West of England and
passes Heathrow airport.
From Junction 7 of the M4 motorway, the
venue can be accessed by taking the sliproad
west on the A4 (signposted for Maidenhead).
There will be specific event signage for the
World Cup to direct traffic to the venue.
By Sea
The recommended ferry route for boat trail-
ers is Calais to Dover, which takes 90 min-
utes. Dover has good access to the M20/M26
motorways, which connect directly to the M25/
M4 (journey time of 2 1⁄4 – 2 3⁄4 hours, Dover to
Eton Dorney).
By Tunnel
The Channel Tunnel is also recommended for
boat trailers. Vehicles and trailers are loaded
onto trains, which take 35 minutes from Calais
to Folkestone. Folkestone also has good
access to the M20/M26 motorways, which con-
nect directly to the M25/M4 (journey time of 2
– 21⁄2 hours, Folkestone to Eton Dorney).

All rooms are single rooms (one bed) and have
en-suite bathroom facilities. Both accommo-
dation venues – Royal Holloway University and
Brunel University are University Campuses.
Breakfast and Dinner at the accommodation
are included in the half-board rate and will be
posted on the website shortly, Lunch must be
booked separately and in advance.

the accommodation or the regatta venue,

DIRECTIONS TO THE REGATTA VENUE
By Airplane
Lucerne is easily accessible from the inter-
national airport of Zurich by direct train.
Departures from the airport are every 30 min-
utes as of 05:15 hrs.
Upon arriving at Lucerne’s main station
(Hauptbahnhof), take bus No. 1 in the direction
of “Maihof” and get off at the "Weggismatt”
or "Maihofhöhe" bus stop. On foot from there,
follow the signs down to the lake.
When driving from Zurich airport, take
Motorway A4 (Zurich-Zug-Luzern) and follow
the direction Luzern. Take the “Emmen Sud”
exit and follow the “Rotsee” signs.
By Train
You can reach Lucerne’s main station

The venue is officially open for training daily
from Wednesday, 10 July 2013 from 7:00 until
21:00 hrs. On racing days, training is allowed
from 6:30 hrs until 30 minutes before the first
race.

Low-cost accommodation
We are able to offer a limited number of beds
in low-cost bed & breakfast accommodation
at the Youth Hostel, near the finish area (see
attached application form). The accommo-
dation will be allocated on a “first come, first
served” basis.
Beds and rooms that have been booked but
have not been fully used will be charged.

Order and cleaning
The Team Manager/Coach is responsible for
keeping the accommodation in proper condi-
tion.
It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to
change any electrical and/or sanitary installa-
tions.

tion have to be paid by the user. The OC will
not be held liable.

Validity of Reservation
The reservation is confirmed as soon as the
deposit is registered by the Regatta office.
The Lucerne Regatta is pleased to offer your
athletes lunch and dinner at the Rotsee for the
special price of 16 CHF per meal. The meals are
especially prepared with rowers in mind and will
be served in the Athletes' Restaurant Tent in
the boat area.
• There will be two menus to choose from;
one always includes pasta and salad.
• A half litre of mineral water is included
(free) with each meal.
• Team Managers and coaches should
order the meals in advance - see
enclosed form.
• This form should be sent together with
the entries. The tickets will be available
at the Regatta office (open from 8:00 hrs
to 20:00 hrs).
• There is other food and drink available at
reasonable prices.
Important: the restaurant tent is only open to
rowers and admission will only be possible with
the prepaid tickets.
Orders for these meals must be made before 1
July 2013 on the enclosed form, to be sent to
the Regatta office. For registrations received
after 1 July 2013, meal prices will increase.
The restaurant "Ruderstuebli" will be reserved
and available for rowers as a rest area.
The Organising Committee provides a limited
number of transport possibilities for teams
staying outside Lucerne. Please book your
transfer in advance at
[email protected]. Your transport is
only confirmed when you receive a written
confirmation from the OC.
During racing days you can book your trans-
port directly at the transportation office in the
boating area.
