The 2013 campaign will be Hassey’s fifth as a manager in the Miami Marlins organization, having skippered the Florida State League’s Jupiter Hammerheads the previous two years. Hassey also led the Marlins’ Double-A affiliate in Carolina to a second-place finish in the Southern League in 2004. Before joining the Marlins in 2004, Hassey spent seven seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks in a variety of roles, including field coordinator, roving catching instructor and special assistant to the GM. Prior to his stint with the Diamondbacks, Hassey was a Major League coach for St. Louis (1996) and Colorado (1993-96), and later enjoyed a two-year stint as bench coach for Seattle (2005-06). Hassey spent 14 seasons in the Majors as a catcher for the Indians, Cubs, Yankees, White Sox, Athletics and Expos, hitting .266 in 1,192 games. He is the only catcher in Major League history to catch two perfect games, working with Cleveland’s Len Barker on May 5, 1981, and with Montreal’s Dennis Martinez on July 28, 1991. Hassey was a part of three consecutive American League pennant winners with Oakland from 1988-90, including the 1989 World Champions. Hassey, a University of Arizona alumnus, still resides in Tucson, Ari- zona with his wife Jennifer and his children Brad, Kimberly and Dana.

leans Zephyrs history on December 19,

2011, Ron Hassey is entering his sec-

ond season at the helm of the Zephyrs,

after leading the Z’s to their fi rst winning

season in fi ve years in 2012. The 2013

campaign will be Hassey’s fi fth as a

manager in the Miami Marlins organization, having skippered the

Florida State League’s Jupiter Hammerheads the previous two

years. Hassey also led the Marlins’ Double-A affi liate in Carolina to a

second-place fi nish in the Southern League in 2004.

Before joining the Marlins in 2004, Hassey spent seven seasons

with the Arizona Diamondbacks in a variety of roles, including fi eld

coordinator, roving catching instructor and special assistant to the

GM. Prior to his stint with the Diamondbacks, Hassey was a Major

League coach for St. Louis (1996) and Colorado (1993-96), and

later enjoyed a two-year stint as bench coach for Seattle (2005-06).

Hassey spent 14 seasons in the Majors as a catcher for the Indians,

Cubs, Yankees, White Sox, Athletics and Expos, hitting .266 in 1,192

games. He is the only catcher in Major League history to catch two

In his second season in the Miami Marlins organization, Olson makes the jump to Triple-

A after spending 2012 with Class A Greensboro, where he handled the trainer’s duties for

the Northern Division All-Stars in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game. Prior to joining

the Marlins, Olson served as the athletic trainer for the Texas Rangers’ Dominican Summer

League affi liate. Olson earned his Master of Science in athletic training from Florida Interna-

tional University.

Minor returns as the Zephyrs hitting instructor for the third straight year. After making his

coaching debut with New Orleans in 2011, Minor presided over a Zephyrs offense that set a

franchise record by hitting 153 home runs in 2012. After playing on the University of Okla-

homa’s national championship squad in 1994, where he blasted a three-run homer in the Col-

lege World Series title game against Georgia Tech, Minor was drafted by the San Francisco

Giants in the 12th round in 1996. He made his Major League debut in 2000, and batted .232

in 136 games over parts of four seasons. Minor established a career high by playing in 83

games and hitting 10 home runs in 2002, helping the Giants to the National League pennant.

Corbell returns to New Orleans for the third consecutive season in his second stint with the

Zephyrs, having also served as pitching coach in 2005. Corbell helped the 2011 Zephyrs set

a new franchise record with a Pacifi c Coast League-leading 13 shutouts, and guided the staff

to a league-best 3.96 ERA in 2012. He is entering his 12th year as a minor league pitching

coach, and his seventh year in the Miami Marlins organization, after a pair of two-year stops

with Jamestown (2007-08) and Greensboro (2009-10). Originally selected by the San Francisco

Giants in the 21st round in 1983, Corbell went 54-42 with a 3.67 ERA in 141 career minor

league appearances (133 starts) in the Giants and Oakland Athletics systems. Upon his retirement, he spent 14 years as

a collegiate coach at Lamar (1989-91) and Galveston College (1991-2002), serving as both Head Coach and Director of

Athletics for his fi nal four years at Galveston. Corbell then joined the Montreal Expos in 2002 as pitching coach at Class A

Vermont. He and his wife, Kathy, reside in Huntsville, Texas.
