What is the Compass

Placement Assessment?

Why is it important?

Compass is a computerized placement assessment in writing, reading, and math thathelps advisors place students in the propercourses as they begin their studies at WCCCD. The Compass assessment is designed to facilitatestudent placement.

If a student is placed in a course that is too easy, they may get bored and lose interest. On the otherhand, if they are placed in a course that is too difficult, they may become overwhelmed and loseconfidence in their abilities.
