Dear Parents and Guardians:

Thanks to a supportive community, highly qualified and committed teachers, dedicated staff, and engaged parents, Erie’s neighborhood schools are more robust and academically rigorous than ever.

In this brochure, you will learn about each of Erie’s five neighborhood schools, their outstanding instructional focus programs and additional resources in career and technical training and online learning available to our students.

You will also learn about numerous state and national recognitions received by Erie schools and the growing number of corporate grants and partnerships that are further enriching our student’s learning experience.

Erie schools also have the distinction of offering a Mandarin Chinese language program at each of its primary and secondary schools.

Since the passage of the 2008 capital improvement bond, St. Vrain has built Erie’s newest neighborhood school, Red Hawk Elementary, and renovated Erie Elementary and Erie Middle Schools.

All St. Vrain neighborhood schools, including those in Erie, are fully wireless and feature cutting edge technology tools such as laptop carts, overhead projectors, SmartBoards and document cameras.

As Superintendent, I am extremely proud of the expanding network of Erie’s high-quality schools and highly engaging instructional programs. Please feel free to contact any of our principals for more information or a school tour.

Sincerely,

Don Haddad, Ed.D.(303) [email protected] Twitter: @SVVSDSupt

Mandarin Chinese

The entire Erie Feeder System offers Mandarin Chinese classes. This opportunity is made possible through a partnership with the Confucious Institute. The goal for elementary students is to develop an understanding of Chinese culture, combined with conversational Chinese.

Skills are developed at the elementary level to create a strong foundation. Once students reach the middle and high school level, Chinese instruction becomes more formalized.
