Understanding Compliance Assurance

SEMS Auditors – Answer these questions: 1. Does the Auditee have a robust SEMS?

All elements covered and in place?

2. Is the SEMS implemented? Each element appropriately addressed and documented across the organization?

- Hazards and risk identified? - Understand the risk presented by their operations? - Sufficient procedures and controls to manage risk?

3. Is the SEMS effective? Are there systemic gaps in performance?
