“My daughter has been going to Girls Inc. since she was five; she is now

    12. There is no other place I would want her

to be. I love the activities that she gets to do and the sense of connection to things, people and the community around her.”

“I approached Girls Inc. as a working parent who needed after school care for my daughter. From the beginning, the staff has shown great

planning, organization, compassion, care, and creativity. Everyday, Hailey has positive

experiences to share from the time spent there after school. I appreciate beyond words, the

ability to have a safe place for my daughter to learn, play, and grow. Girls Inc. has given me the peace of mind that every parent should

have when choosing after school care for their children.”

    OUR 2015 DONORS CONTINUED

    Dear Friends,

2015 has been a fantastic year for Girls Inc. of Monroe County. Your support has helped us to grow and expand our program offerings allowing us to serve more girls with quality programming. To be specific, we increased:• The number of girls served by 183• The number of volunteers by 144• The number of national identity programs by 5• The number of families provided financial assistance by 43

In addition, our 40th anniversary Strong, Smart and Bold Luncheon recognized forty women for their contributions to our community. It has been a very suc-cessful year.

Why continue to support Girls Inc. of Monroe County? Research has shown that Girls Inc. programs are as relevant today as they were when we began in 1975. Girls who: • Receive high levels of support from adults• Believe that girls are no less competent than boys• Can name three adults who could help with a problem

Are more likely to be girls who...• Are satisfied with their bodies• Want to go to college• Have a high quality of life• Overcome the effects of gender stereotypes

Your gifts have a direct impact on our ability to serve girls in our community and help them to become Strong, Smart and Bold Women.

    Thank you,Sarah NagyBoard President

  • “I believe Girls Inc. has provided me with the

confidence I needed while growing up. Now I am

making plans for college.”-Girls Inc. Member,

“I am able to make a lot of new friends that make me smile.”

    Girls Inc. Member, Age 6

“I support Girls Inc. because I want, no, I need the next generation of women to be Strong, Smart and Bold. I need future decision makers to have good thinking and reasoning skills, to be courageous,

and at times, outrageous. I don’t want to envision a future world without these women. I’ve seen with my own eyes a quiet, seemingly angry and

misunderstood girl blossom into a confident, scholarship winning, mayoral interning woman

who has no idea how many people she has inspired. Who doesn’t want to live in a world

where every woman inspires? That’s the world I want to live in and that’s why I support Girls Inc.
