Dear Friends,

International Interior Design Association Southern California (IIDA SoCal) is the voice of Commercial Interior Design through Education, Advocacy and Outreach. Supporting our Members and promoting excellence and innovation, in this ever-evolving industry is our purpose. Your generosity allows us to serve our Members who are at the core of everything we do.

With that said, our Chapter has reached a “tipping point,” with more than 750 members, five City Centers and seven Campus Centers. As a Board, we are finding strategic ways to collectively advance and elevate the profession of Interior Design. This year, we have plans to expand and maintain our professional networks, recognize design leaders, mentor students and emerging professionals, and support our legislative efforts.

Our main goal for 2015 is to promote the engagement and development of our Professional Members and Principals. The IIDA SoCal Leadership Council, WestEdge Senior Leadership Panel and West Coast Regional Student Charette are some of the new programs that serve the interests of these Members. Through the support of our Chapter Sponsors, we will continue to advocate for excellence and build quality projects, relationships and community.

We anticipate even more success, with your continued support, as we enhance our programs and increase our Members. 2014 was a tremendous year for our Chapter. Not only were we able to fundraise and support the Calibre Awards, Leaders Breakfast, a Fall and Spring Lecture Series, and Student Awards Programs, we also launched a new City Center, defeated the AB2192 bill, participated in the Sunset review of our current law, and hosted sixty events, with over 3,000 in attendance. IIDA SoCal events focus on education, networking, project tours, professional development & philanthropy. We also connect Interior Design students with professionals, recognize their work, and mentor them as they transition into their professional lives. Our purpose is to

CITY CENTER EVENTS

City Center Fashion ShowsEach year, we hold fashion show events throughout Southern California. These couture runway events feature a cohesive theme around which architects, designers and students create custom outfits, created using typical interior design finish materials.

Speakers SeriesWe host a series of lectures twice a year in the spring and fall with a leading design industry luminary speaking about design issues relevant to all. CEU credits are also available.

Membership MixersIIDA member mixers are a chance to network with colleagues and meet new people. We host these events at fun, lively venues with a little food and drink to get the conversation started. To top it off, we raffle off IIDA memberships as a gesture to give back to the design community.

CHAPTER EVENTS

Calibre AwardsThe Calibre Awards is an annual black tie gala and awards presentation with 1000 guests, honoring the excellence of project teams who have exceeded the expectations of our profession to bring interior design to life. We also present the Circle of Excellence Award to someone who exemplifies outstanding dedication to our industry. In May 2013 we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Calibre Awards.

Leaders BreakfastLeaders Breakfast is an annual breakfast event in September. It features a compelling keynote speaker to inspire attendees. During the event, we also honor someone in the local design community for their contributions to the industry.
