New Chamber Committees Seek Volunteers For the 2015 year, the Chamber Board of Directors has revamped our committees. We feel these new committees better suit the needs of our Chamber Businesses and will help us to better serve you. Our five committees are: Membership & Benefits Committee, Tourism Committee, Business Committee, Technology and Communications Committee, and Programing Committee.
Each member of the Board serves on one of the Chambers standing committees. Their committee memberships are noted to the left of the front page. Each Board member also serves on one of the Chambers events committees and one of the festival events. However, these committees are open for all Chamber Businesses to volunteer.
If you have any suggestions to make to these committees, please feel free to contact the chairperson or a committee member. Also if you would like more information or to serve on one of the committees, please contact the Chamber office or the committee chairperson.

The Chamber’s Performing Arts Committee is again scheduling a series of free concerts to be held in Heritage Parkway this summer. As in the past, there will be an opportunity for local non-profit service organizations to raise money at these concerts by hosting the beverage stand selling pop, beer, and water. The profits will be shared between the Chamber and the host organization. Organizations interested in this opportunity to raise some $$$ and have some fun should contact Josh Hines at the Chamber to discuss the host program and receive an application packet. A lottery will be held in March to determine participation and selection of concert date.

Creating an appealing downtown physical environment is
an important goal for Chamber of Commerce, DWP,
WAEDC and the City. The River Corridor committee
worked with landscape architects from Garmann/Miller
Architects to develop a master plan for a new river corridor
park. The plan includes tree plantings, a walk/bike path
along the river, a pedestrian bridge, as well as boat docks at
Belcher Park and near the WaterPark. This new river
corridor park will be an important amenity for
Wapakoneta’s downtown visitors.
