Spring has definitely arrived here in the Pa-cific Northwest! Kick starting our spring celebration was ShowCase Lakewood – Another Bloomin’ Trade Show at the Great American Casino. If you didn’t attend, you missed a great networking opportu-nity. Based on the responses of question-naires our vendors submitted, it was one of our best table-top trade shows ever.

The Chamber staff and volunteers are defi-nitely in high gear working to create net-working opportunities designed to develop relationships and help you increase your bottom line. I would like to cover the many terrific opportunities you and your business should get involved in over the next several months.

June’s General Membership Luncheon will honor the Business Students of the Year with the scholarship program funded

through the Chamber’s Annual Chili Cook-Off. The Luncheon is scheduled for June 5th, 11:30 a.m. and will be held at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club Club.

Our recent Blue Ribbon Cutting at Lakewold Gardens, celebrated 25 years of being open to the public! We commemorated this mile-stone and ushered in the new Don & Mary Williams Garden Room! We cherish our part-nership with this crown jewel in our own back yard!

Particularly popular with our early bird risers, is AM Chamber Network. The format is not your typical 30 second elevator speech an-nouncement. This program has been de-signed for Relationship Building, which will in turn, give you more opportunities to cross promote each other! Another opportunity to casually network is Dish Mob at LaPalma Mexican Restau-rant! What's a Dish Mob you ask? Chamber Members and friends converge at a locally owned restaurant to show our support for our small business owners and to help strengthen our local economy. We nosh, we network and have a great time! Meet us at LaPalma on May 21st at 5:00 p.m.

The Chamber is also gearing up for our an-nual Golf Classic on June 20th at the RMG Club - Oakbrook. If you’ve participated in the past, you’ll recall it’s one of the most enjoy-able events of the season. Sign up early to be a sponsor, for a team, provide donations for the raffle drawings, or sign up to volun-teer. The Golf Classic provides opportunities to get in front of the most influential business leaders in the region - and have fun doing it!

I encourage you to get involved in any of these exciting upcoming events – take advan-tage of everything the Chamber has to offer to help you take your business to the next level!

Tourist Season is Near! Do You Want to be a VIP?

The spacious lobby of the Chamber of Commerce is a terrific venue to welcome locals, newcomers and the visit-

ing public to Lakewood!

We need the help of Very Influential People (VIP’s) ~ volunteers to help meet, greet and assist visitors who are looking for places to visit, eat, shop, as well as for general directions seven days a week. Volunteers will also interface with our fabulous Chamber Members who stop by to visit. It’s a great way to be of service, learn

about all of the terrific things to see and do in our region, network and make new friends.

Do you know anyone who would be interested in volunteering for a four hour shift? In-house training will be

provided. For details, please contact Scott Jonson at 253-582-9400.
