DESCRIPTION

Bailey Lake's FUN RUN is set for Friday, October 2nd. This will be our school's largest fundraiser for the year. Thank you to some very generous businesses! that helped covered the cost for 'spirit' t-shirts provided to all of our students, for this event and beyond!! We are truly appreciative!Students, please wear your 'spirit' t-shirt! Our first walk/run begins at 9:10am and finishes at 11:30am. Fun Run paperwork should be received this week with all the details.

  • Bailey Lake Elementary PTA introduces Friday, October 2, 2015

    Be INSPIRED To Do Your Best! We are planning our second Fun Run again this year!

    Our FUN RUN fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2015 (rain or shine), during the school day. This will be BLEs largest fundraiser this year. How does it work? Your children will be running/walking for dollars! On October 2nd they will walk/jog/run as many laps as possible around our 1/10 mile asphalt track in the 15 minutes allotted. This will be a fun and exciting day with a DJ, mascot, as well as fellow classmates cheering each other on. We will celebrate our schools accomplishments in an assembly at the end of the day, announcing prizes and offering random drawings. Pledge donations and forms will be due no later than Wednesday, September 30, 2015.

    Our FUN RUN theme is Be INSPIRED To Do Your Best because it MATTERS and we hope you will join our fundraising efforts. Every contribution MATTERS; and everyone MATTERS in making a difference. Whether it is a $2 pledge or a $200 contribution every penny MATTERS and will add up to continue to provide BLE with excellent programs.

    The money raised from this event will support our many fun and educational programs at BLE such as: Family Bingo Night, March Reading, Seuss Fair, Reflex Math and Reading programs online, Field Day, and all the Field Trip excursions geared towards each grade levels curriculum, additionally a specific percentage will go automatically to each classroom to help with extra resources the teachers need throughout the year. These funds offer our students a much richer educational experience, plus they provide for many fun and spirit filled BLE activities and events.

    Based on our projected budget for the 2015 2016 school year, our goal is to raise $24,000. If we reach this goal, it spares us from having to implement numerous small fundraisers throughout the year, i.e., candy sales, bake sales, pizza kits, magazine sales, etc.

    Each child participant that submits a pledge will receive a t-shirt! Should we reach our goal of $24,000, our principal, Mr. Gualtieri, has agreed to die his hair blue for the day and allow himself to be duct-taped to a wall by our students throughout the afternoon of the Fun Run!

    We know these are difficult times, but we hope that your family will be able to help us raise some funds. BLE has always been blessed to have such generous households.   • Each student may record pledges on his/her Pledge Form. Donations are a flat base and are not based

    on how many laps your child has successfully completed. Everyone is a winner! *****(For increased safety, pledges should be requested FROM FAMILY & FRIENDS ONLY and a parent should always accompany children when requesting pledges.) *****

    The Pledge Sheets along with donations should be returned to your childs teacher on or before Wednesday, September 30.

    No matter what amount, each child will receive a spirit t-shirt. These shirts can be worn for many other school events throughout the year.

    It would be greatly appreciated if you would write a personal check for your childs total pledges collected. Make checks payable to: Bailey Lake PTA ***All retuned checks due to insufficient funds will require immediate reimbursement from the responsible party via cash or money order and may be subject to a service charge.

    The day of the FUN RUN, Friday, October 2n , please have your child bring in a water bottle (re-usable is great!) with their name on the bottle. Those students that do not have water bottles will be provided with water at the event. Listed below are the teachers/grades and their scheduled time to run/walk. Children are asked to wear their grade-colored spirit t-shirts they will receive for turning in their pledge forms prior to the day of this event.

    (T-shirts are compliments of some generous sponsors, supporting our school!) Please feel free to join us and cheer for your child during their scheduled run time.

    School Assembly: 3 -3:30 p.m.

    Please remember that everyone is a winner, no matter how fast or slow, 10 laps, or 1 lap

    If we are lucky enough to receive donations, than all of us will win! Should we reach our goal of $24,000,

    our principal has agreed to die his hair blue for the day and allow himself to be duct-taped to the wall by all our students that afternoon!!

    Children will also receive a bracelet for each lap they complete. Students will be given a snack and the chance to cheer on another grade after their run.

    Following 1st Prize selection, ONE CLASS from each grade (besides winning grade) will be rewarded one prize based on the next highest class donations total.

    Also, all students who raise $100 or more will be entered in a drawing to win: 2 General Admission Tickets to The Adventure Park in Frankenmuth or

    1- $100 gift certificate to Stars & Stripes

    Students who raise $60 or more will be entered in drawings to win:

    One- Free Ticket to Michigan Sea Life Aquarium (with a paying adult ticket purchase)

    Many random drawings and raffles will take place at our assembly, including rewards for top number of laps.

    Prizes from Rainforest Caf, Zap Zone, Culvers tokens, 7-Eleven, Hungry Howies, and Cooks Dairy Farm!
