RESULTS
Fort Saskatchewan Municipal Census 2015
Introduction The 2015 Municipal Census was conducted by the City of Fort Saskatchewan, Corporate and Protective Services Division, Legislative Services Department.
This report provides data collected between April 20, 2015 and June 3, 2015 on the number of residents in the home, the age and gender of each, employment status, employment location, and length of residence in this municipality as well as other information. More information on the 2015 Municipal Census can be obtained from:

Methods Under the supervision of the Legislative Services Department of the Corporate and Protective Services Division, residents were able to complete the census online.
Enumerators only visited households that did not submit an electronic census by May 11, 2015 and entered the information electronically right at their door.
This report presents the results of the census in tables and figures. Where possible, census data from 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2010 are provided for comparison and to identify population trends.

Results
Total Population The total population of Fort Saskatchewan as of April 20, 2015 was 24,040 (Table 1). This includes 539 residents of the Fort Saskatchewan Correctional Centre. The population has increased by 1,232 residents in 2015 from 2014, which represents an increase of 5.4% (Table 2).

Population by Gender The proportion of males in Fort Saskatchewan has decreased over the past three years. In 2015, 46.3% of the population is male, while 44.3% is female (Table 3).

Population by Age and Gender Table 4 and Figure 1 show that the 30-34 age group includes the most number of residents, followed closely by the 25-29 age group.

Profile of Dwellings The total number of Fort Saskatchewan dwellings in 2015 was 10,669. The occupancy rate is 84.8% and the vacancy rate is 4.5% as shown in Table 6. There were also 758 vacant lots (not shown in table).

Dwelling Type Single detached houses remain the predominant type of dwelling in Fort Saskatchewan (Table 7). Apartment, duplex, and row house are the next popular dwelling types for Fort Saskatchewan. Vacant dwellings were recorded at 477 (Table 6) and there was a total of 935 no responses for this question.

Employment Status The Employment Status results show that 40.7% of respondents are employed full time and that Fort Saskatchewan has a 2.0% unemployment rate.
