    From the Directors...Dear Friends,

Here, we make community. Thats probably as briefly as we can describe it. Whether its one of our camp programs, or a retreat group, a family reunion or even a wedding, Skyline is a place where community happens.

Part of that is this place. Its beautiful here: 156 acres of woods and fields, deer and wild turkeys. Hills to climb and trails to wander...

Part of that is the program. We work hard to develop and refine everything we do so that it is enjoyable and safe. Were proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association, and Licensed by the State.

Part of that is the people. We are blessed with long-serving staff throughout the year, and frequently-returning summer staff. We seek and emphasize compassion and creativity as core values in all that we do.

But the most important part is YOU. If youve never been, we look forward to meeting you here. If you have, we look forward to welcoming you back.

    In Peace,

    Matt & Shana HenrySkyline Directors

Skyline was established in 1964 as a summer camp providing Christian Education for children and youth, and is now both a summer camp and a year-around retreat center. For many years Skyline has welcomed both adults and children to its unique environment.

Situated in a rural area in southern Lapeer County, Skylines 156 acres of rolling hills and forests are a haven from the routine and stresses of the work day the perfect four-season venue for retreats, off-site meetings and seminars. Whether your need is for a few hours, one day, overnight or week-long, let Skyline supply the natural beauty as well as all the facilities and tools. Skyline can accommodate 100 at one time in winter and 200 in summer.

Skyline is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, and relies on the generous support of individuals, foundations, churches and businesses. To make a gift to Skyline, please contact our Business Office (details page 2).

Summer Camps are certainly not the only thing we do at Skyline, but it has always been a central piece of our reason for being. We approach summer camp with a great deal of preparation...

Our Focus The safety, welfare and well-being of all our campers.

Our Philosophy Skylines spirituality begins with wonder and gratitude for every blessing; no camper is expected to bring a particular belief background, and all will be welcomed as they are. With Skylines roots in Christian values, we encourage in our campers a sense of compassion, a respect for creation, and an embrace of creativity. Values of fairness, kindness, beauty, diversity and generosity are modeled, expected and celebrated.

Our Intentions That every camper has fun. That every camper feels safe and supported to explore new activities and adventures. That every camper experiences unconditional love and acceptance, and that this grows

beyond camp. That every camper experiences a positive sense of the natural world, a positive sense of

community, and a positive sense of self.

    Why so many prices?

Understandingthatfamilieshavedifferentabilities topay,Skylineoffersavoluntaryfour-tier fee program. You may choose the tier that is most suitable for your family. It is a free-will system; you pick the level thatiscomfortableandaffordableforyourfamily. All campers receive the same experience no matter what they pay. Any gap between the Full Price and the tier you choose is considered a campership that we try to make up for in donations. Tier 1 subtracts $500 for Camp For Me or Camp Far Away. Not available for Camp Joy.This is our historically subsidized rate and doesnotreflect thefullcostofoperatingsummer camp programs. Tier 2 - subtracts $400 for Camp Joy, Camp For Me or Camp Far AwayThis is our partially subsidized rate for those who can pay a little more but may not be able to afford the actual cost ofcamp. Tier 3 - subtracts $300 for Camp Joy, Camp For Me or Camp Far AwayThis rate does not reach the full price of camp, but begins to cover more of the costs. Tier 4 - subtracts $200 for Camp Joy, Camp For Me or Camp Far AwayThis rate gets closer to the full price of camp. Full PriceThis isour rate thatmoreclosely reflectsthe actual cost of camp, including wear and tear of the buildings and grounds. When registering, you will see coupon codes which enable you to choose the tier that is right for you. **Again this program is VOLUNTARY and in no way influences the experience campers will receive. It only offers the opportunity for families to take an active role in supporting the actual cost of their campers Skyline experience.

Skyline welcomes families, foodies, and folks of all kinds to bring bikes (or cars) and good appetites for a day of loving your farmers, your body, your food and the land where it is grown.

Ride the ten mile, the twenty mile, the tiny trip routes or take a car tour linking neighboring farms & artisans. Cyclists ride on dirt & gravel roads around the hills of Almont, Bruce and Dryden, stopping along the route to visit local farms, farm markets & artisans. Those driving will enjoy a scenic Sunday drive on the same beautiful winding roads.

At the most bountiful time of the year, we welcome you to come & marvel at the fruits of the earth brought to us through hard work and passion. Meet growers cultivating delicious produce, their happy chickens, their grazing cattle, and gobbling turkeys. Learn about maple tapping, poultry farming, the artistry of a good apple cider, and more. Buy produce straight from the farm, pick raspberries, apples, grapes and more.

The route is open between 11am and 5pm. Cyclists are welcome to leave purchases at stops to be delivered to Skyline around 6:00pm. Cyclists & drivers may register through the day of the Tour.
