We have over 80 Georgia Southern University graduates in leadership roles, representing and promoting the shared university message.

We employ over 800 Georgia Southern University students and over 300 full-time staff members.

Our internal marketing department handles the graphic design, public relations and marketing needs for all six Auxiliary Services departments.

For many students, living on campus is their first chance

to develop their personal living style. From roommates

to decorating options, University Housing has something

suited for you. Staying in the residence halls gives you

the opportunity to meet lifelong friends, get involved in

activities and enhance your overall first year experience.

Sleep easy at night knowing that each room is equipped

with safety features including key-card access, locked and

bolted doors, panic buttons and emergency call-boxes.

All of the halls are conveniently located near academic

buildings, dining establishments and bus routes.

University Housing prides itself on providing a quality, on campus experience for each individual student. Offering an array of floor plans, community-wide programs and certified Community Leaders, students will have the best residential experience possible. University Housing is more than a temporary stay, with University Housing youre here to stay.

All-inclusive, fully-furnished residence hall rooms: Each room comes with a desk, dresser, nightstand and full or twin sized bed, to accommodate every student. Each residence hall is equipped with Wi-Fi and cable television, and residents do not have to pay overage fees for utilities.

Residence Education: Resident Directors and Community Leaders act as leaders, role models, community builders and resources to on campus students. Count on these teams to provide activities, conflict resolution and other resources as needed.

Around-the-clock maintenance and support: University Housing offers over 150 facilities and maintenance staff members, available to assist students in room repair and general upkeep.

Eagle Dining Services is committed to providing those we serve with excellent food and exceptional customer service, while providing a sense of community for all. We are focused on continually improving dining across Georgia Southern Universitys campus and offering students, faculty, staff and visitors diverse cuisine in friendly environments.

Nutrition First: Eagle Dining Services Nutritional Coordinator assists with students and dining staff to ensure individuals who may have special dietary needs are accommodated in their facilities. Any student can reach out to their Nutritional Coordinator for information or advice.

Student Employment: Eagle Dining Services is one of the largest student employers on campus. Over 500 students gain valuable training and experience while working at Eagle Dining Services locations each year.

UNLIMITED ACCESS TO RESIDENTIAL DININGWith an Eagle Unlimited Dining Plan, students can try a wide range of options in our Residential Dining locations. With your Dining Plan, you have unlimited access to Dining Commons and Lakeside Dining Commons.

GUEST PASSES FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILYGuest Passes allow you to bring friends and family for a visit at either of the Residential Dining facilities at no additional cost. Guest Passes expire at the end of the semester or the term they were issued.

BUDGET BUCkS**Georgia Southern students can easily manage their dining spending through flexible Budget Bucks plans. Each of the two plans credit a predetermined amount of Budget Bucks per week for sixteen (16) weeks throughout the semester. Every Monday, accounts are reloaded with the selected amount, good at any Eagle Dining Services location. If Budget Bucks have not been used by the end of the week, the remaining balance will be credited to the following weeks balance. At the end of each semester, remaining balances are automatically credited to the following semester.

FIRST YEAR STUDENTS LIVING IN A RESIDENCE HALL ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE A DINING PLAN.


NUTRITION & WELLNESS Eagle Dining Services employs a Nutritional Coordinator, Brittany Parham (CDM, CFPP), who works with Executive Chefs and the culinary team to analyze and aid in the development of healthy recipes. Brittany also meets with students, faculty and staff to ensure that any dietary restriction or limitation can be accommodated. Parham also educates students on healthier eating options within dining and promotes dining wellness to our community. Each year, Eagle Dining Services develops a nutrition & wellness program per National Association of College and University Food Services guidelines. Parham has earned national recognition for such programs including a NACUFS Silver Award in 2015 for her Smart Bites program. No Whey! is a Top 9 allergen-friendly station located in Dining Commons. Students with any of the nine most common allergens may eat there to enjoy food free of most common food irritants.

DINING LOCATIONS Our state-of-the-art dining establishments, Dining Commons and Lakeside Dining Commons, are sure to keep you full. With over 15 serveries between the two establishments, there is certainly a wide range of choices.

If youre looking for your favorite retail establishments, we offer those too! Chick-fil-a, Starbucks, Zachs Brews, GUS Mart & Union Deli, Market Street Deli and Wrapsody Grill are all located on campus and all accept Dining Dollars and Eaglexpress!

No matter where you are on campus, the Eagle Card

Program makes everyday campus life convenient and

enjoyable. Your Eagle Card grants access to buildings

and residential facilities and can be used for shopping

at retail locations and getting a bite to eat both off and

on campus. The Eagle Card also acts as your student ID,

giving students access to athletic and student organization

events. Please report lost cards immediately to the Eagle

Card Center; our friendly staff will administer a new card

and cancel previous to avoid fraudulent usage.

EAGLEXPRESSEaglexpress is a stored value plan that can be used both off and on campus. Whether you need a physical, an annual checkup or

treatment for illness and injury, Health Services can

accommodate your health needs. Health Services employs

Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants, a

Radiologic Technologist, a Medical Technologist, a Health

Educator, a Pharmacist, an Optometrist and numerous

clinical support and administrative staff.

Georgia Southern University Health Services mission is to meet or exceed the student patients full range of needs and expectations that relate to the delivery of healthcare services medical, counseling, educational, and wellness while providing them with cost-effective, high quality care in an efficient manner with a focus on educating students on how to be knowledgeable healthcare consumers.

Youre Covered: The student health fee provides the opportunity to receive quality, multi-disciplinary health care, wellness and health maintenance within a few steps of campus classes from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

Knowledgeable and Trained Staff: Students have access to Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, a Radiologic Technologist, a Pharmacist, a Health Educator and many other highly trained and qualified staff.

Health Education: Health Services provides educational and informative programs on a wide range of health issues and awareness topics. Throughout each semester, Health Education assists students in learning about disease prevention and promotion of wellness & good health practices.

Eagle Eye Care is your on campus eye care facility. Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. We offer many services to our students,

faculty and staff. We can fill prescriptions (RXs) for glasses as well as contact lenses. We also offer adjustments and repair to glasses as a courtesy to our patients. Schedule an appointment with our on-site optometrist today by calling (912) GSU-EYES.

Georgia Southern Health Services operates by advanced appointments. For your convenience, appointments are self-scheduled using the Online Student Health (OSH) Patient Portal. You can access OSH by clicking the OSH link after logging into your WINGS or mygeorgiasouthern page. This system allows you to enter in appointment dates and time ranges to review what appointments are available over various days and time slots.

Same day appointments are available on a limited basis. Students who come to Health Services without an appointment will be evaluated and given an appointment depending on their health needs.


SERVICE CHARGES

Any student taking 4 credit hours or more is charged the semester health fee as part of their tuition and fees. If you are taking less than 4 credit hours or are an online student, you may pay the student health fee to be eligible for our services. Our website at GeorgiaSouthern.edu/health includes an explanation of the services covered by the semester health fee and the services that are provided at discounted rates. Health Services has become a contracted network provider with most of the national and regional health insurance plans and will file your claims to your insurance plan.

CONFIDENTIALITY

The relationship between patients and Health Services staff is confidential, and we strictly practice this rule of medical ethics. Students are entitled to privacy, within the capacity of Health Services, and confidentiality to the extent of the law.

NURSE RESPONSE AFTER-HOURS CALL SERVICE Georgia Southern Health Services offers an after-hours and weekend Nurse Response telephone service to provide Georgia Southern students with continuity of care when Health Services is closed. Nurse Response can be used for valuable health care information, finding local health care, or to be triaged via phone by Registered Nurses by calling 1-855-779-7185.

EMERGENCY AND AFTER-HOURS CARE

For medical emergencies, contact Bulloch County EMS, regardless of the time of day or night. Dial 9-911 if using a campus telephone, or 911 if using an off campus phone. The East Georgia Regional Medical Center E.R. is located on Fair Road. All expenses related to services of other medical providers are the responsibility of the student.

HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE

Health Services provides its services, programs and products regardless of a students insurance plan or lack of insurance. Students are encouraged to maintain health insurance coverage while attending Georgia Southern to avoid catastrophic financial loss due to accident or sickness.

A system-wide Student Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan (USG SHIP) is available for students

within the University System of Georgia who are uninsured or underinsured. The plan is designed to provide affordable coverage, and students may purchase the plan to cover themselves as well as their spouse and dependent children.

Graduate students and students in specific degree fields are required to participate in the mandatory University System of Georgia student health insurance plan, unless they waive out through an online waiver process before the waiver deadline each semester.

Applications and information about the plan benefits, and the waiver process, may be obtained by accessing the USG SHIP information via the Health Services website link: GeorgiaSouthern.edu/health.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Health Services works with the Georgia Southern University Counseling & Career Development Center (CCDC) to provide professional individual and group counseling for a variety of difficulties: low self esteem, depression, sexual identity, relationship conflicts, eating disorders and problems associated with dysfunctional families. The CCDC is staffed with Counselors, Psychologists and a Psychiatrist.The CCDC is located on Forest Drive. EAGLE ONLINE HEALTH AND IMMUNIzATIONS

Eagle Online Health is a secure online access system to Health Services, which includes the following features: patient information, appointment requests and confirmations, prescription refills, secure messaging with providers, access to immunization and medical record information, patient education literature, and laboratory results.

The required immunization compliance form, which must be submitted in a timely manner prior to SOAR, is available on the Health Services website at the Immunization (Requirements) section. These records can be submitted through the Eagle OnLine system once you have registered for SOAR.

The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia has mandated immunization requirements for students entering the University. All required vaccines are available at Health Services. The required vaccines include: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Tetanus, Diphtheria, Hepatitis B and Meningococcal (signed documentation required if living in University Housing).

Health Services also recommends and encourages students to be immunized against: HPV (Human Papillomavirus), Polio, Hepatitis A and to be tested for TB (Tuberculosis).


Printing and Postal Services

Printing and Postal Services offers quality printing as well

as departmental and international mail service all in one

easy, on campus location. Every student living on campus

can have his or her own personal, locked P.O. Box and

has the ability accept mail and packages at the office. The

department is conveniently located in Dining Commons so

students can easily check mail or pick up print jobs coming

to and from breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Printing and Postal Services provides Georgia Southern Universitys campus with exceptional printing solutions as well as departmental, local and international mail service. Our many products and services, such as making copies of a report, shipping packages overnight or faxing important documents will help simplify your life.

Print Like A Pro: Never waste ink printing another organization flyer again. Printing and Postal Services offers a multitude of professional-grade prints and can assist with printing everything from resums and thesis papers to banners and graduation announcements.

Mail Service: Keep in touch with relatives and friends, receive a long-awaited online shopping package or send copies of your resum and cover letter to potential employers all at once! Printing and Postal Services manages over 5,000 student P.O. Boxes and is the Georgia Southern campus mailing and package delivery hub.

Trained Staff: Printing and Postal Services employs knowledgeable staff who are well-trained on instructing customers in methods of creating cost effective and quality mailings and print pieces. Trust our staff to help your ideas come to life at the lowest possible cost.

Transit

Parking and Transportation offers over 12,000 parking

spaces for students, faculty and staff. Additionally,

commuter lots are available for those coming to and

from campus on a daily basis. The Southern Express runs

several routes throughout the day across campus and

can be conveniently monitored on any smart device via

the Smart Traxx app! Services such as the Zipcar rental

program allow licensed driving students to rent a car for

use at their convenience.

Parking and Transportation Services supports the University by ensuring students have an enjoyable, flexible and accessible campus commute. Our goal is to ensure campus traffic safety, distribute student, faculty, staff and visitor parking permits and operate the Southern Express bus transit system. Were constantly adapting to the needs of our growing campus and diverse student body.

Designated Lots: Never worry about having to search for a place to park on campus. Permits are available to purchase each year for on campus residents and commuters alike. Parking is available in lots next to academic buildings, offices, residence halls and other popular areas on campus.

Travel in Style: Dont trek to class in the rain again; use the Southern Express! Our bus transit system runs throughout campus daily and has several convenient stops to make your trip smooth and easy. Southern Express is also available during home football game days and Spring Commencement to accommodate more convenient off-site parking.

Personalization: If driving around in your own car isnt for you, Parking and Transportation offers alternatives to fit your preferred mode of transportation. Zipcar allows students a way to get around town and beyond by renting a car for occasional transportation.

PARkING 101

To park on campus, you must have a valid parking permit.

You can purchase your parking permit at the start of each semester.

If you live on campus in a residence hall, you are required to have a residential parking permit.

Non-commuter students cannot purchase a parking pass until the fourth week of classes. All other students can purchase permits for other lots throughout campus.

Parking at Paulson Stadium is free, and a bus stop is conveniently located at the stadium.

Always make sure to park in your designated parking lot or space to avoid fines and tickets.

ZIPCARParking and Transportation partnered with Zipcar to provide students the opportunity to rent a vehicle for occasional transportation without any hassle. The car-sharing service includes access to on campus vehicles, gas and insurance. Drivers who are 18+ are eligible to use the service limited to Georgia Southern students, faculty and staff.

Members can reserve cars for as little as an hour or up to four days via smart phone or online. Enjoy the freedom of having a car without needing your own.

Southern Express

Parking and Transportation operates 12 buses on three different routes to provide convenient transportation throughout Georgia Southerns campus. Buses travel to and from residence halls, many of the most popular academic buildings, the Recreation Activity Center (or the R.A.C.) and Paulson Stadium. Southern Express operates when classes are in session throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters.
