Spirit of the sport and competition
Following two years of exciting beach volleyball competitions, the
Final round will feature 16 national federations per gender.
Europe’s best men’s and women’s beach volleyball teams will play
country vs country matches in a best-of-three format. The eventual
winners of the Continental Cup will be able to participate in the
Beach Volleyball tournament of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de
Janeiro.
For the Men’s tournament the following countries have already
qualified for the Final round: Czech Republic, Norway, Spain, Italy,
Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Turkey, France, Austria, Latvia,
Russia, Greece, Switzerland, Belgium and Estonia.
For the Women’s tournament the following countries will
participate in the Final round: Austria, Russia, Spain, Italy,
Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium,
Lithuania, Sweden, France, Finland, Greece, Poland and Slovakia.

Bringing together 44 national federations, the CEV Beach Volleyball Continental Cup takes place over 3 years and acts as an additional route through which national federations are able to qualify beach volleyball teams for the 2016 Olympic Games. The Final round, taking place in June 2016, is sure to attract many enthusiastic fans.

rights (excluding host country) for the CEV
Beach Volleyball Continental Cup Finals in
2016 and 2020 – the decisive qualifying
competitions for the Olympic Games in the
respective years. Since 1993, the company
has handled the marketing of the worldwide
multimedia rights of the biennial CEV
European Volleyball Championships and
has a long term agreement through to 2021.
Beach volleyball gained popularity in
Europe in the 1930s, and has been an
Olympic sport since 1996. During the last
Summer Olympics, beach volleyball was
one of the most popular sports and
continues to gain in appeal.

The TV production is composed of at least
5 cameras for the Final round and the total
matches produced include at least 18 per
tournament.

networks in each host country.
