Camp Molly Laumanat
Want to have the most awesome summer ever? This guide has everything you need to know to plan your adventure!
Camp Molly Lauman is in Scioto County in southern Ohio. We’ve been running Girl Scout summer camp there since 1929, so we have a rich heritage of encouraging girls to try new things, practice newfound skills, and make lifelong memories. Resident camp (i.e. sleepaway camp) gives you the opportunity to do something special this summer. You’ll make new friends and have a lot of fun, all while gaining independence and building character within a safe andsupportive environment.
Come camp with us
If you’ve completed grades K-12, Camp Molly Lauman has a camp program for you. (If you’re not a Girl Scout, all you have to do is pay a $15 membership fee.) We offer programs for all interests – like horseback riding, high adventure, cooking, superhero training, and spa camps – just to name a few. Most girls come to camp by themselves, but you can sign up to bunk with one of your friends, too.
We know you’ll have the experience of a lifetime exploring the woods, tackling challenges, trying new activities, and hanging out with old and new friends. We can’t wait to see you at camp this summer!

Camp Molly Lauman is located in Lucasville, Ohio, about 1 ½
hours from Columbus.
You don’t have to be in a
Girl Scout troop to come to camp!
Each camp program has a theme that activities will focus around (check the descriptions on the following pages), but ALL campers will have plenty of time to do traditional camp activities like:
• Swimming• Craft projects• Naturalist programs• Gardening• Cookouts
• Campfires and s’mores• Hanging out with new and old friends• Badge activities
Plus, tons of free-choice activities are available for each group to do together. Camp counselors will help girls plan their schedule on the first night of camp. Girls can pick group activities such as:

• Sleeping under the stars• Hiking• Sports and games• Night games• Yoga• Spa mixology• Geocaching• Gourmet s’mores

Camp Molly Lauman, my home in the woods...
SLEEPINGOne of the things that makes camp stand out is our connection to the outdoor environment. Camp is definitely rustic, but totally awesome. Living outdoors provides you a chance to disconnect, unwind, and refocus on what matters most: YOU.
You’ll stay in a platform tent, cabin, or yurt with other girls who have all signed up for the same camp program.
Platform tents are heavy canvas structures with wooden floors andfour beds. Open flaps allow for lightand a breeze.
Yurts are a cool cross between tents and cabins with ceiling fans, lights, screened windows, and four sets of bunk beds.
MEALSMost meals are served family style in the camp dining hall. We also do campfire cookouts where you’ll help plan and prepare the meal. Meals are delicious and healthy. We prepare many dishes from scratch, which allows us to easily accommodate most common allergies and dietary restrictions.
Typical meals include homemade pizza, cheese quesadillas with tomato soup, and breakfast burritos. If you’re a picky eater, don’t worry! We always have a salad bar and sandwich station available.
YOUR COUNSELORSOur staff members go through an intense screening, selection, and training process. Many staff members are aspiring teachers, outdoor educators, and former campers. They come from all over Ohio, the United States, and the world to work here! Many come back year after year. Want to see who’s been hired this year? We post introductions and photos on our Facebook page.
Are you interested in working at camp some day? Check out our Leader in Action camp to take the first steps toward becoming a camp counselor!
BRING A FRIEND!You can request ONE buddy to bunk with at camp. Requests for multiple buddies will not be honored. To be bunk buddies you and your friend must be registered for the same program and you must request each other by name, not troop number. Why just one buddy? Most campers stay in four-person tents or cabins. We do not allow groups of three to request each other because that leaves one girl in the tent/cabin who feels left out by not knowing everyone else. Besides, part of the fun of camp is making new friends, and that’s hard to do when you’re just hanging out with girls that you already know.
If you have more than one friend coming to camp with you, don’t worry. You can hang out with all of your friends, new and old, during most of the day time activities, like swimming, meals, and game time.
…I would stay all year if I could.

Superhero AcademyIt's a bird! It's a plane! It's a Girl Scout?! At the academy, you'll create an alternate persona and design your own superhero logo. At camp, you'll hone your super powers by participating in activities like our team challenge course and poolside rock wall at camp. Then, head out on TWO academy fieldtrips: a Superman-style zipline flying lesson and practice leaping tall buildings in a single bound at a trampoline park. Evil doers beware!
Paddle/Pedal We're headed to Ohiopyle, Pa., for a rockin' and rollin' good time. We'll hop on bikes and pedal the Great Allegheny Passage (a flat, wide, easy bike trail) to our rafting put-in site where we'll have a picnic lunch before boarding the boats to paddle back to town for ice cream cones. We'll camp for two nights in Ohiopyle to have plenty of time to hike, wade, shop for souvenirs, and if you're feeling brave, try out the natural rock waterslide! Bikes are provided.
Leader in ActionThink it might be cool to be a camp counselor some day? This camp will give you a taste of what it takes to be a good mentor for younger girls. You'll learn leadership and communication skills, but still have plenty of time to enjoy the awesomeness of camp for yourself. You'll get to pick which of the three LiA Awards you'd like to earn, then help lead Brownie campers in fun activities. This is the perfect blend of hanging out with your friends and trying out a new leadership role at camp.
