All entries are to be made on July 20, 2019 from 8 a.m.–4 p.m. All mail entries are to be received by this time. All needlework exhibits are to be in the Art Hall on Sunday, August 4, 2019 by 12:00 p.m. JUDGING WILL BE ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 4, 2019 No purchased articles may compete for a premium. Soiled articles will not be considered by the judge. Any article entered out of a class will be disqualified. Entry tags must be attached to the exhibit by the exhibitor. Superintendent and Assistants will not tag entries. Exhibits containing more than one article must be fastened together. All exhibits will be hung, taken down and otherwise displayed by the Department Superintendent and Assistant. Any article without competition will be awarded a prize only if the judge warrants it to be worthy of a prize. Also no “Best of Show” will be given. All needlework exhibited will be released on Sunday, August 11, 2019; NOTHING IS RELEASED UNTIL SUNDAY FROM 8:00 am-11:00 am. Members of the Attica Fair Board, superintendents and assistants are not responsible for articles left after 12:00PM. All items displayed at the Attica Fair are at the owner’s risk. Safety of the items is not guaranteed, however, each item will be treated with the utmost care. Exhibitor is limited to two entries in each item. CLUBS AND ORGANIZATION EXHIBITS CLASS 1

GARDEN CLUB EXHIBITS Becky Manning

Any exhibitor who is a member of a club/organization who chooses to show

away from their club / organization booth is required to purchase an

individual membership or season pass to display.

All entries must be in place the day before the opening day of the fair. The purpose is to create more interest and raise the standards of horticulture and floriculture in the community. Each club is to name their own theme and place the theme in their booth. All Garden Club exhibits must be placed the day before the opening day of the fair. Judging will take place on the first day of the fair. Booths must be taken down on Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 8 am-11 am. Garden clubs will furnish their own materials. Care of the items of the booth must be cared for daily during the fair to assure freshness. All items displayed at the Attica Fair are not guaranteed, however, each item will be treated with the up most care. Entries and season passes are to be made with the fair secretary. Each Garden Club must purchase one season pass when entries are made. Chairman of booth committee must purchase a season pass. Judging will be guided by the following point system.

CLASS 10

WINES Premiums

1st - $3.50 2nd - $2.50

ENTRY RULES 1. Wines may be made from

grapes, other fruits, berries, vegetables, grains, other suitable ingredients or blends of these.

2. Ingredients may be fresh, canned, dried. Concentrate or otherwise preserved.

3. Wines should be amateur – homemade by the process of fermentation and must not be blended with commercial wines.

4. Each bottle will be opened for judging and re-corked and left on display.

5. Wines should be clear and free of flotation particles (not Cloudy)

6. Table wines should be free of effervescence.

7. All wine entered must be made by the exhibitor named on the entry.

8. Bottles should be filled within 1” to 2” of the fully installed top or cork and must not be over-filled.

9. All wines are to be marked as the year in which they were made and the main ingredient used.

10. NO COLORED BOTTLES EXCEPT FOR THE SPARKLING WINES OR COOLERS.

11. Any wine considered to be unfit will not be judged.

All entries are to be made on July 20, 2019 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. All mail entries are to be received by this time. NO double entries are permitted in the department. All baked goods must be in the Entertainment Building by 12:00 Noon, Tuesday August 6, 2019 Please pull in the east gate drive and drive up to the back of the Entertainment Building and we will have people helping to take your baked goods. All articles will be released Sunday August 11, 2019 from 8am – 11am. Unless spoilage warrants early removal, all baked goods, except pie, must be removed from the pan.

Exhibitor must exhibit a whole cake – 8”- 9” or 9”x13”. All pies

must be in a 9” pie tin. Judged Baked Goods Auction will be Tuesday August 6, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. at the Social Hall.

FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE

• 2 cups Flour

• 2 cups Sugar

• 2 tsp Baking Soda

• 2 Eggs

• 2 cans of Fruit Cocktail (15.25 oz. each) with juice/syrup

Combine the ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix by hand.

Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 pan. Top with 1/2 cup brown sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
