Dear Comrades,

In continuation of Dharna on 11.12.2015 by CBPRO at

New Delhi, we advise that the Delegation of CBPRO

met IBA and submitted memorandum on 10.02.2016.

We are immensely pleased to inform all Bank

Pensioners that quite a few positive developments have

taken place in regard to our issues after our historic

massive above mentioned Dharna. The memorandum

submitted at that time to the Hon'ble Prime Minister,

Finance Minister and Department of Financial Services,

Government of India evoked good response and the

IBA has in turn started collecting data from individual

Banks regarding the number of Pensioners as on

March, 2016 and number of pension optees as well.

The IBA has also asked the Banks to work out the

calculations in regard to 100% DA Neutralisation. Many

of the Banks have already submitted the required

information to IBA. CBPRO requested all the

constituents to ensure from respective Banks the

required data and information, if not furnished already,

to furnish the same immediately. In this regard we also

profusely thank UFBU and their individual constituents

who have put in special efforts by repeatedly reminding

the IBA about Pensioners pending issues. In fact,

AIBOC even served a strike notice in December, 2015

to the IBA in respect of our demands.

2. To give further momentum to our efforts,

CBPRO decided to go in the form of delegation to IBA

and submit a memorandum detailing Pensioners

issues. Accordingly, the delegation of CBPRO met Sh.

M.V. Tanskle, CEO of IBA on 10th February, 2016 in

the office of IBA at Mumbai and submitted the

memorandum.

3. During the submission of our memorandum,

CBPRO explained to the CEO of IBA, the anxiety andanguish of the Bank Pensioners, many of whom have

crossed the age of 80 years, waiting and hoping forjustice. IBA was also requested to resolve the issues

on a note of urgency last quite a good number of

Retirees may not see justice at all during their life time.

4. We are happy to report that C.E.O. of IBAresponded very positively to our submissions and

assured the delegation, the seriousness and sincerityof the IBA to resolve the issues once the required Data

is received from the Banks. He also assured the

delegation that IBA is sympathetic and is in the processof collecting data and information from the member

banks to work out solutions in respect of Pensionersissues. CBPRO is thankful to Sh. Tanskle, CEO of IBA

for the concern he has shown and we are very confident

that Pensioners will have good news from the IBA inthe very near future. So, this is a very notable and

encouraging development for all the pensioners.

PENSIONERS' MEET AND ZONAL COMMITTEE

MEETING AT LUDHIANA ON 21.02.2016

A very successful meeting was organised at

Ludhiana on the said date. Firstly, as desired by

Sh. V.K. Kalia, the Zonal Committee meeting was

held at the first floor Conference Hall of the Zonal

Office, Ludhiana. It was so encouraging that almost

all the Zonal Committee Members numbering 18

to 20 were present and took part in the

deleberations. Sh. V.K. Kalia, Vice President of

the module spoke about the various activities at

their end and shared other views with the central

leaders from the Chandigarh headed by Sh. T.R.

Gupta, the then Offg. Gen. Secretary, Sh. M.S.

Mongia, Organising Secretary and Sh. Tek Chand,

Asstt. Treasurer also took part. The meeting ended

in a very cordial manner. Sh. T.R. Gupta also

apprised about the latest developments at the

federation level, about the Court case in Delhi High

Court viz. W.P. 1875/2013.

At 11.30 a.m., the General House Meeting

was also held in which about 100 Pensioners

(including few lady members) took part. Sh. V.K.

Kalia, Vice President of the Association took

charge of the stage. In the absence of the Deputy

General Manager, Sh. S.K. Sethi, Assistant

General Manager, Ludhiana was the Chief Guest.

Sh. Kalia invited various speakers for their views,

including Sarvshri S.K. Sethi, T.R. Gupta, Amar

Pal, Chief Manager, H.R. Zone Office, Ludhiana.

Sh. Sethi thanked the Pensioners for their coming

to attend the meeting. Sh. Amar Pal, our valuable

member, also spoke and gave some suggestions

to improve the functioning of our Federation. The

Chief Manager talked to the members about the

new Medi-Claim Scheme. Sh. T.R. Gupta apprised

the members of the new developments at the

Association and Federation level and about the

court case i.e. Writ Petition No. 1875/2013

regarding 50% demand of Pension Amount.

The meeting was organised in a very

beffiting manner. All the credit goes to Sh. V.K.

Kalia and his Zonal Committee members. Sh. Kalia

and his team honoured about 10 to 12 senior

pensioners with a pack of Blanket each. A very

notable and laudable event with spontanious

response was witnessed in the meeting. A few

members donated a sum of Rs.6400/- (Six

thousand Four hundred only) to the Pensioner's

Association of Chandigarh unit. We are sincerely

thankful to S/Sh. N.K. Bansal, D.K. Goel, S.M.

Nayyar, C.L. Sharma, Smt. Usha Joshi, Tarsem

Lal Sharma & G.R. Deora for their contributions

as mentioned above and very much appreciate

their spirit and feelings towards their organisation.

The meet ended with a sumptous lunch for all the

Pensioners. I once again thank Sh. Kalia for the

nice arrangements and also thank management

for their support. I thank Sh. S.K. Sethi, A.G.M,

Ludhiana for accepting the Chairmanship of the

captioned meeting.

PENSIONERS' MEET OF KARNAL UNIT

A General Body meeting of our above unit was

held on 25th February, 2016. Sh. Kailash Chand,

A.G.M., honoured their few senior-most members

S/Sh. R.P. Arya and P.K. Mehta with suitable gifts.

Tea and snacks were served at the meeting. Sh.

Kailash Chand, A.G.M. assured his best services

to the Pensioners.

JALANDHAR UNIT

A seminar on how to be happy with meditation was

organised by our above unit on 13.02.2016. under

the Baton of 'Sawan Kirpal Rohani Mission,

Mullanpur' at SBI Main Branch. Sh. S.S. Arora,

AGM, Jalandhar Branch took the initiative for

organising the same where advantages of

meditation were told to the senior citizens/

pensioners. A number of 100 pensioners/retirees

attended the seminar and our office-bearers of

Jalandhar Unit thanked Sh. S.S. Arora, Madam

Usha Arora for taking initiative to have such a

wonderful programme. At the same time, Lohri

festival was also celebrated and Tea, Snacks and

traditional "Moongfali Reorian" were served.

Please keep it up for such functions in the future

also.

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING OF

PENSIONERS ASSOCIATION OF CHANDIGARH

CIRCLE HELD AT LHO, CHANIDGARH ON

26.02.2016.

The captioned meeting was held on 26.02.2016

in which the Executive members of all the modules

except J&K were present. The Punjab-I Module

was headed by their Vice President Sh. V.K. Kalia,

the Punjab-II Module headed by Sh. Y.P. Suri, Vice

President, Haryan Module headed by Sh. O.P.

Banga, Vice President and H.P. Module headed

by Sh. U.S. Negi, Vice President. The other

members of the E.C. S/Sh. T.R. Gupta, A.C.

Rambani, S.K. Sharma, M.S. Mongia, Tek Chand,

Jia Lal Sharma, Nirmal Sharma, Mahesh Chander,

Vijay Kumar Gosain, Raj Kumar, Inder Krishan,

Raj Kumar Gupta (Jalandhar), M.R. Vij, S.P.

Agarwal, Ashok Bhatia, B.B. Chaudhry also

participated in the meeting. The details of the

resignation of our former General Secretary were

explained by Sh. T.R. Gupta to the members. It

was unanimously decided by the Committee to give

befitting farewell to Sh. Jai Ram Gupta, our former

General Secretary, on the next meeting of the

General Body. All the members recognised the

services of Sh. J.R. Gupta and appreciated in one

voice, his contribution to the Pensioners'

Association of Chandigarh Circle as well as at the

Federation level. The Committee also decided

unanimously that Sh. T.R. Gupta to serve the circle

association as General Secretary till the next

elections. A vote of thanks was made by the Vice

President Sh. A.C. Rambani in the absence of Sh.

K.K. Puri, our President, who could not join due to

his illness. The meeting was held in a cordial

manner ffollowed by Lunch.

Hearing resumed today, in Division

Bench No.4 of Delhi High Court. Ac-

cordingly to brief reports received by

us, ploy of the Govt. of India to stall

the process of law, by appointing a

Committee, did not succeed. Our

Counsels opposed the arguments of

the Govt. to delay the process of law.

The Bench ordered that the arguments

in the Court would continue indepen-

dent of the functioning of the Com-

mittee. The next date of hearing was

fixed on 28.03.2016.
