PLANNING STRATEGICALLYTogether with over 100 stakeholders, our new 2018-2020 strategic plan outlines an inclusive vision for programming and cultivates arts ambassadors as champions for our work to drive attendance and engagement. Our plan acknowledges the roles of our artists, educators, community members, Board, staff, volunteers, and interns.
DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, AND EQUITYOur free and accessible location provides high-quality arts experiences and educational opportunities that highlight Michigan artists. We can do more. We want to increase exposure and accessibility to the visual arts for ALL people with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and equity.
FINANCIAL STABILITYEach fiscal year we celebrate financial achievements. We are becoming increasingly financially stable, increasing artwork sales, and compensating staff with fairer wages. Our Fund Development Committee is driving support with vehicles for sponsorships, scholarships, membership, donor circles, and legacy giving.
EXPANDED PUBLIC RELATIONSDespite a changing landscape for fundraising in our community, we have raised visibility for Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center through expanded public relations initiatives; increased social media engagement; and a strengthened brand focused on Michigan artists, our talented staff, and our educational programming.
MAKING OUR MISSION REALITYOur dedicated stakeholders truly make our mission a reality, helping us provide “public awareness, education, and enjoyment of the visual arts by promoting the works of Michigan artists.”
Sincerely,
Barb Whitney Rich SnearyExecutive Director Board President

Public Art ExhibitionsDuring the Summer of 2018, Lansing Art Gallery &
Education Center partnered with the City of Lansing’s Parks and Recreation Department to provide a public art display in 10 sites featured along our historic Lansing River Trail.
This temporary, site-specific public art project will connect 3.5 miles of artwork by Michigan artists from Old Town
to R.E.O. Town.
“Art is a tremendous part, economically, and
culturally, and visually of a community. So, we’re trying to maximize that. We have
great partners like the Lansing Art Gallery who are doing the ARTpath and so many others,
So, we’re really excited.”Lansing Mayor Andy Schor
