Keynote Presentation featuring Cisco Systems: “The Experience of Disruptive Innovation to Engage, Empower and Excite Talent”

Today’s market transition to a digital economy is igniting unprecedented opportunities for profitability—and competition. It’s predicted that digitization is a multi-trillion dollar market, but also that this revolutions means 40 percent of Fortune 500 companies won’t exist or be relevant in 10 years.

This mass digitization of business and society is fomenting a new era of challenges, disrupting organizations throughout every industry. All companies face an extraordinary urgency now to be exponentially faster, more agile, and innovative with solutions—market-transitional solutions that change the game. This means nothing short of quickly cultivating an environment where employees at all levels and in every function are inspired and incentivized to think and act more like passionate entrepreneurs in a startup.

Alex Goryachev, Cisco’s Senior Director of Strategic Innovation, addresses disruptive programs, lessons learned and the latest advances in transforming employees into entrepreneurs. He will also focus his insights on igniting a culture of innovation companywide, as well as how this helps companies to win “the war for best talent.” In this session, you will learn:

• How to launch a grassroots innovation disruption across the entire company with the support of the C-Suite and “co-conspirators,” which captures the imagination of the entire workforce, and unleashes their most passionate ideas

• The importance of empowering every employee to co-develop ideas with cross-functional teams, external customers, and mentors both inside and outside the company

• Key lean startup methodologies that can be adapted to big companies that require a combination of creativity, discipline, teamwork, and alignment to corporate goals.

Thought Leadership Spotlight featuring Questback: “Secure the Survival of HR: Transforming People Processes into Strategic Human Capital Management”

The Digital Era and the Internet of Things proliferated the collection and analysis of hard data to enable better business decisions and improve operational efficiency as a result. While hard data is successful in measuring the statistical probability of a situation occurring, it proves insufficient when it comes to fully understanding the situation within context. How can enterprises leverage feedback collected directly from employees to align the employee experience to strategic goals and objectives? To this, big data misses the why.

From SHRM to Bersin by Deloitte, the resounding theme is ‘different by design’ – a transformation of people processes. Deloitte notes HR is now “…the steward and designer of these new people processes.” Forbes predicted that 2017 will see vanishing of silos between HR, marketing and customer experience “…in order to develop experiences.” Historical silos fall as enterprises merge disciplines to form a new complete, strategic view of enterprise interactions with all people – employees, customers, markets. Will you be ready?

Questback President, Carol Lee Andersen, will discuss five emerging trends in the use of technology to align the employee experience to strategic goals and objectives, including:

• Increasing frequency and form of measurement• Reducing time to insight through real-time reporting• Enabling immediate action on insights for management• Providing people with a voice at their own request• Integrating engagement data with customer and financial data

have you taken as an HR team to adapt?• Looking ahead, how will technology create a stronger workforce culture and improve the digital

Many companies agree that employee engagement is a key driver of critical business outcomes like productivity, culture, and retention. But with global engagement rates remaining stagnant, we’re forced to ask: What’s the secret to moving the needle? The answer is an employee experience centered on wellbeing, one that empower individuals to build healthy habits that help them perform at their best, both in and out of this office. In this session, Chris Boyce, CEO of Virgin Pulse, will discuss the science of behavior change, key drivers of healthy habits, and the ways that a corporate strategy that prioritizes wellbeing will drive critical business results.

Thought Leadership Spotlight featuring Fairsail: “Why Delivering Great Workforce Experiences is Key to Improving Employee Engagement”

Recent employee engagement surveys suggest that only 1 in 3 people are fully engaged at work. This presentation will suggest that the key to improving productivity is to recognize that engagement is the outcome of a series of factors, including workforce experiences. Examples of how technology can help in transforming workforce experiences will be shared and some wider implications explored.
