Message from the PresidentOn behalf of the Board of Directors, I am thrilled to invite you to join us at the 2018 IMGMA Annual Conference in wonderful French Lick, Indiana. We selected this venerable Indiana resort conference center for multiple reasons, but before I get into that, let me share some things about the conference.

We are honored to have Indiana Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box open as our keynote speaker. Dr. Box was selected by Governor Holcomb to replace Dr. Jerome Adams who was appointed as US Surgeon General.

In addition, there are so many other great sessions planned for topics that might be off your radar but we feel you will find very relevant in our evolving healthcare arena; Ransomware & Cyber Security, Facility Security/Event De-escalation, active shooter security, physician recruiting techniques by JW Lively, a former TCU Division 1 football coach with years of recruiting, Quality Payment Programs explained by Purdue Health Advisors, Employment Law, Social Media policies and law, and many more important topics.

So now, back to French Lick: Why there? Okay, let’s just get it out there; yes, it will be a long drive for some of you. However, I have talked to hundreds who go there for other conferences, and they all have loved going there, not one complaint. Many attendees bring their

family and stay before or af ter conferences to enjoy the huge pools, luxurious spas, championship golf courses, casino, hiking, or just the history of these magnificent facilities.

The resort is home to two historic hotels, two championship golf courses, two rejuvenating spas, superb meeting venues, and a Vegas-style casino. French Lick is family-friendly and business-competent: an overall perfect location for IMGMA’s annual conference.

While there, be sure to walk or take the shuttle next door to the see the Old World elegance at West Baden Springs Hotel. Relax in the atrium to the sounds of live music, enjoy a quiet cocktail at Ballard’s in the Atrium or dine at Sinclair’s Restaurant, an intimate dining experience with a sophisticated vibe. Take time during the conference to visit this incredible facility and you’ll understand why it’s called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

Your IMGMA leadership team is work ing di l igent ly to br ing you educational resources on the most impactful issues in healthcare today. P l ea se t a ke advan t age o f t h i s opportunity to learn, to be more prepared than ever, and to enjoy the experience of the best business and vacation destination in the state. See you there!

b. “Ransomware – Not If But When . . . Are You Prepared?” (Ford Room) - Pat Spencer, Bluelock

Why? It’s not so much how important the data is to the hackers – it’s how important that information is to you and your patients. That’s why they don’t care if they actually get your data or not. Just locking it up so you can’t get to it accomplishes their mission. We will discuss the more well-known ransomware attacks from 2017 and the devastating results they had on the organizations that were affected. And, attendees will learn how to prevent such attacks through employee training and awareness; how to detect the attacks using state-of-the-art security measures; and how to restore your data from these attacks using the latest recovery technology solutions available.
