Candidate for President-Elect

Jessica Walker, AIAWalker Run Studio

Jessica Walker is the founder and Principal Architect of Walker Run Studio, formed in 2017. Jessica has practiced in New Orleans, starting as an intern at Mathes Brierre Architects in 2007, earning her LEED AP credential in 2009, becoming a licensed architect in 2012, and opening the New Orleans office for Coleman Partners Architects in 2013. Jessica has a Master of Architecture from Tulane University. She was AIAS Vice President 2004-2005, and AIAS President 2006-2007. Jessica was an intern with AIA New Orleans in 2006-2007, team liaison for CANstruction in 2008, the Associate Director on the 2009 AIA New Orleans Executive Board, and the AIA National Convention Committee Co-Chair of the AIA Guide to New Orleans in 2010-2011. Jessica has served as the Secretary of the Coliseum Square Association since 2014 and is an ACE mentor at Warren Easton Charter High School. Jessica looks forward to the opportunity to serve as President-Elect, where she would like to guide developing strategies for AIA New Orleans to provide valuable resources for and represent the small firm architects in our membership.

Benjamin Noble Chadwick, AIA, NCARBLinfield, Hunter & Junius, Inc.

Benjamin Noble Chadwick is the Director of Architecture at Linfield, Hunter & Junius, Inc. and has a diverse range of Architectural experience. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Kentucky in 2005. After graduation he began his working career at Vintage Archonics Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN and in 2007 Benjamin decided to continue his professional growth with SSOE Inc. and relocated to Toledo, Ohio. During his time with SSOE Inc. he became involved with the local AIA Toledo chapter and participated in several programs and events in the greater Toledo area. In 2012 Benjamin relocated to New Orleans, LA to further develop and enhance his professional career. During this time Benjamin has helped the local AIA serving on the AIA New Orleans Golf Tournament committee from 2014-2016. Benjamin is currently enjoying immense personal and professional growth and is excited about the opportunity to serve our professional organization.

Terri Hogan Dreyer, Assoc. AIA, LSBIDNANO LLC

Terri Hogan Dreyer has over 25 years of experience in architecture and interiors. She is one of the Owners and Founding Partners of NANO LLC, a MidCity-based design firm. Terri is the Majority Managing Partner and is responsible for the business management and development for NANO LLC, a proudly woman-owned business. Terri has extensive design and application experience in historic tax credits for building renovations and has given several lectures to New Orleans business community leaders about historic rehabilitation tax credits. Terri was an adjunct professor at Tulane University for four years where she executed and led the second year design studio, as well as taught design theory lectures. She was a full-time interior design professor at Louisiana State University where she taught design studios, construction documents and professional practice courses.She received her Master of Architecture from Tulane University, Bachelor of Interior Design from Louisiana State University and is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program. Terri’s professional awards include an AIA Honor Award, New Orleans City Business Top 40 Under 40 Award, and a Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) Award while working abroad in London for HOK Inc. Recently she has served on AIA Award Juries for both the states of Tennessee and Mississippi.

Anna Ghelase, AIASizeler Thompson Brown Architects

Anna Ghelase, has been with Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects Healthcare Design Group for more than 11 years, and was named an Associate in 2014. She has extensive experience in a variety of healthcare design projects on many local healthcare campuses. Her specialization in Healthcare Architecture has earned her a notable position as one of 6 Louisiana Architects Certified by the American College of Healthcare Architects. Additionally, she has achieved Evidence Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC) from the Center for Health Design. In addition to her project management and Architectural responsibilities, she maintains production standards and the office environment at Sizeler Thompson Brown. Anna is a participating member of the Women in Architecture New Orleans Chapter, and the Louisiana Healthcare Support Alliance. She earned a Master’s of Architecture in 1998 from Tulane University.She donates her time to a variety of charities, including Unity of Greater New Orleans, Habitat for Humanity and Uncommon Construction. She enjoys creating jewelry and furniture from recycled computer parts and building materials.

Beth Jacob, AIAClio Associates LLC

Beth Jacob is a co-founder and principal of Clio Associates LLC, a New Orleans–based historic preservation consulting firm. She is a preservation architect with a particular interest inadaptive reuse, historic preservation planning, and the revitalization of urban districts. Over the past 4 years she has worked on projects ranging from historic district design guidelines and preservation plans to historic tax credit consulting assignments and National Register nominations. Since 2013, she has been the lead technical design consultant for Façade Renew, a storefront improvement grant program operating along four of New Orleans’ historic commercial corridors. Prior to moving to New Orleans, she worked as a project manager in the Urban Design and Planning Studio at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP in Chicago. Beth currently teaches in the Master of Preservation Studies program at the Tulane School of Architecture, and serves on the Architectural Review Committee for the New Orleans Historic District Landmarks Commission. She was recently awarded the 2017 Richard Morris Hunt Fellowship, a prize conferred biennially to one American architect for six months of research, travel, and professional exchange in France. Beth has a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois; a Master of Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley; and a Master of Preservation Studies from the Tulane School of Architecture.

Candidate for AIA Louisiana State Delegate (2 Year Term)

Justin Greenleaf, AIA, NCARBGreenleaf Lawson Architects

Justin began his career immediately after graduation from Louisiana State University with a Bachelors in Architecture. After working for multiple firms in the Baton Rouge area, Justin moved back to his hometown in Mandeville, Louisiana. While practicing in the Greater New Orleans Region, Justin received his Architectural Registration for the State of Louisiana. In 2014 Justin and his business partner Michelle Lawson, decided to open Greenleaf Lawson Architects. While the firm’s breadth of work spreads from Florida to Texas, GLA has completed some very notable projects around St. Tammany Parish. Some of these projects include Headquarters Buildings for Florida Marine Transporters, Netchex, and currently, Globalstar. Greenleaf Lawson Architects has grown to nine full time employees and is a honoree for the 2017 “Best Places to Work” by New Orleans City Business.Justin served as Vice President of the Mandeville Northlake Rotary Club in 2014. He is an alum of Leadership St. Tammany and is currently serving on the Board of Trustees. Justin has also been accepted into the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Class and is scheduled to graduate at the end of this semester. Justin has an interest in getting involved with the AIA, and representing our New Orleans Chapter at a State level. He also has interest in increasing the involvement of parishes in the Greater New Orleans Region, such as St. Tammany Parish. Being that he has lived in this community his entire life and has spent time in the Baton Rouge chapter, he can bring the necessary level of enthusiasm to the table to accomplish these goals.

Candidate for YAF Representative

Julie Babin, AIAstudioWTA

A Philadelphia native, Julie came to New Orleans to study architecture. She earned her Master of Architecture from Tulane University where she was awarded The John W. Lawrence Memorial Medal for Design Excellence. When Hurricane Katrina coincided with her final year, Julie committed to rebuilding the city she had grown to love and joined studioWTA. Ten years later, Julie is a partner at studioWTA and was named “Master of Architecture” by New Orleans Homes & Lifestyles Magazine. She believes in empowering students and young professionals and has been a teaching assistant for incoming Masters students at Tulane, the AIA Associates ARE Study Chair, and a mentor to many studioWTA interns on their path towards licensure. In March and November of 2012, Julie’s travel photographs were featured in the Young Architects Forum online magazine – a time before she had two children and travel was much simpler!

Brad McWhirter, AIATrahan Architects

A New Orleans native, Brad left the Crescent City to study architecture at the Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Graduating in 2002, he joined Trahan Architects as an intern and through the years quickly grew into a managerial role, becoming a Partner in 2017. Brad has a keen interest in precision — developing a trained eye for detail at a very young age. He is passionate about process and execution, and takes pride in ensuring that the end product meets and exceeds the conceptualized design.Brad’s expertise includes a wide range of building typologies and scales of projects, designing and executing numerous sports venues, cultural spaces, event centers, hospitality spaces and office buildings to name a few. He oversaw the rebuilding of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome following its devastation by Hurricane Katrina, a $230 million dollar renovation which was designed and constructed in just 9 months, as well as the award winning Louisiana State Museum and Sports Hall of Fame, widely praised for its low construction cost relative to the complexity of the architecture and materiality.Brad thrives on the academic nature of the studio environment Trahan Architects has created, and views each project as a unique opportunity for study, discovery and implementation. As a candidate for YAF Representative on the AIA New Orleans Executive Board, Brad intends to uphold and expand the existing programs such as “Emerging Professionals Happy Hour” and maintain close involvement in the futureNOLA project as a contribution to the 2018 TriCentennial event taking place in New Orleans next year.

Candidate for Associate Director

Bryan Bradshaw, Assoc. AIACampo Architects

Originally from New York City, Bryan Bradshaw moved to New Orleans in the summer of 2014 to attend Tulane University where he received his Master of Architecture degree. While at Tulane, Bryan revitalized and led the student chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS) with the help of his peers in an effort to increase the impact that Tulane students had on the school and New Orleans community. One of the most successful programs was partnering with the Louisiana Children’s Museum to volunteer at schools to help second graders understand what community means to them as well as their role in communities along with designers and architects.

Bryan’s undergraduate degree from Amherst College in Architectural Studies and Art & the History of Art has allowed him to explore interests in both the art and architecture fields where he continues to practice metal fabrication and sculpture. He is currently part of the Campo Architects team as an architectural designer and is beginning the ARE.

Laura Stokley, Assoc. AIAHumphreys & Partners Architects

Laura Stokley moved from Lawrenceville, NJ to New Orleans, LA in 2011 to attend Tulane School of Architecture and graduated from the M.Arch program in May 2016. She currently works for Humphreys & Partners Architects and is completing her IDP/AXP hours while taking her AREs. In her spare time she volunteers with the Young Leadership Council as a Project Leader and helps to plan and organize events for the AIA Associates committee.
