Registration Payment Satellite Beach Recreation Dept. will accept cash,

personal checks, credit cards and money orders for

the payment of fees. Unless otherwise noted, make

checks payable to: City of Satellite Beach.

Credit Cards: The Credit Card processing company

adds to the cost of your transaction either $1.95 or

2.5% of the total cost, whichever is greater.

Online Registration is Fast & Easy! If you already have a User Name & Password, just

follow steps 1, 2 & 3 below to log into the system. First

time users, please follow these 5 easy steps:

Step 1: Go to www.playsatellitebeach.org

Step 2: Click on “Register Now”

Step 3: Log in using your family user ID (this is the

e- mail address you have on file with the

Recreation Dept.)

Step 4: Click on “Create Account”

Step 5: Complete the household information. You

must use the email address you have on file

with the Recreation Dept.

Step 6: Click “Create Profile”

You will receive a confirmation via e-mail and may

begin on-line registration.

Walk in Registration You may register in person at the recreation office

during our regular business hours, M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.

Payment may be made by cash, check, credit card

or money order.

Mail in Registration Print a program registration form from our website at

www.satellitebeachrecreation.org fill out completely,

include payment and mail to: Satellite Beach

Recreation 1089 S. Patrick Drive, Satellite Beach FL

32937. Payment of check or money order must be

included.

After Hours Drop Off Registration A registration drop box is available at the recreation

office, in the DRS Community Center Lobby, for after

business hours. Drop off registrations will be handled

in the same manner as mail in registration. Payment

may be made by check, money order or cash.

Class Refund Policy Please review your registrations carefully.

Refund will be automatic if any program is

canceled.

To avoid classes being canceled last minute

due to insufficient enrollment and in order to

accommodate waiting lists in a timely fashion,

refund requests must be made no later than five

(5) business days before the class begins.

Partial refunds may be given within 5 business

days from the start of camp.

No refunds will be given the day of or after a

class begins.

Note: City Financial Policy states that checks must

have 30 days to clear before a refund will be issued.

Refunds back to a credit card are accomplished

usually within 3 business days of the request.

Additional fees will be charged for checks returned

NSF and participation can be suspended until fees

are paid in full. For facility refunds, refer to your rental

contract for refund policy.

Returned Checks Customers will be contacted by the Recreation

Department for any returned or NSF checks. The

complete NSF policy may be viewed online at

www.satellitebeachrecreation.org.

Tiny Tots Gymnastics FULL

Ages: 18-36 months This class allows toddlers to

experience physical activities designed to enhance

and develop gross motor skills, coordination, social

interaction and cooperative play. Caregiver must

stay with child.

Pro-Start Tennis Ages: 4-7yrs This class offers an opportunity to

learn tennis in a fun, positive environment. This

learning format is designed to bring kids into the

game with an emphasis on technique and

sportsmanship. Tennis racquets are available to use

during class time or you can bring your own.

Tiny Tot Tennis Ages: 3-4yrs This class is designed as a fun

introduction to the game with emphasis on basic

fundamentals to prepare kids for advancement to

"Pro-Start Tennis". Class size is extremely limited to

allow for personalized instruction. Tennis racquets are

available to use during class time or you can bring

your own.

Happy Healthy Chefs Ages: 5-12yrs Do you have a budding chef in the

family? This class includes nutrition education and

hands-on preparation of healthy and delicious meals

and snacks. Your little chef will learn about kitchen

safety, proper food handling, how to portion and

balance meals, healthy substitutions for some favorite

foods, and how to choose foods that give us energy

and brain power! Please notify us of any food

allergies or dietary restrictions.

scientific topic and each weekly session is filled with

different lessons.

Super Hero Training (CPR/AED)

Ages: 6-11yrs Showing children that they are not too

young to “save a life” is a great way to give them self

confidence and get them thinking about their role in

the community. Students will learn how to respond in

an emergency, perform hands only CPR, and use an

AED while wearing a superhero cape and mask.

Snacks, prizes and cape included!

Tennis Classes for Beginners This tennis class provides basic instruction for entry

level players. The DeSoto Tennis Complex provides a

variety of activities for youth players once they have

mastered the basic skills. Call the Tennis Hut, at

Kidstuff Guitar & Voice Ages: 7-15yrs A guitar class designed just for kids

that tracks their progress and rewards their efforts.

Melany Perkins has developed a unique approach to

teaching music that gets results. Kids will play the first

day! If you need help getting a guitar, call or text

Babysitting Boot Camp Ages: 11-17yrs Students will learn how to be a safe

and responsible babysitter in a fun and interactive

classroom environment. Program includes pool

safety, American Heart Association CPR/AED and First

Aid Certifications, danger zones, emergency

planning and how to promote your babysitting

business safely. All materials are provided.

Painting & Watercolor Ages: 18yrs and up This class is open for any

medium, but is designed for the artist who already

has a good working knowledge in their medium of

choice. Demos will be given in watercolor and

students may follow along on a class project or work

on their own projects. Students are responsible for

bringing their own art supplies. For more information

Adult Guitar Ages: 16yrs-Adult Do you long to take your playing

to the next level? Come to the Place of the Guitar

Way. We will work on strum and finger picking

patterns, bar and power chords, progressions,

songwriting even a bit of vocal integration. Not a lot

of theory, just playing. You will have the opportunity

to share and collaborate with other serious musicians.

Led by world touring singer-songwriter Melany Perkins.

Ages: 11yrs-Adult This class is designed to help pet

owners provide temporary, urgent care to pets until

they can reach a veterinary or emergency clinic.

Covered topics include a wide array of pet

emergencies such as bleeding & bite wounds,

cardiac arrest, choking, burns, poisoning, trauma and

more.

Hawaiian Dancing for Children/Youth/Adults Ages: 3 yrs to Adult Halau Ilima O Pololika (Brevard

Hawaiian Dancers Florida) is a traditional hula dance

school where students learn and grow in their

knowledge of Polynesian dance and cultures. Enjoy

this lower impact exercise! Classes include programs

for men, women and children as young as 3 yrs old!

Monthly class fees are paid directly to the instructor.

Family discounts available. Classes are held on

Sundays & Wednesdays at the DRS Dance Studios.

Contra Dance

Ages: Youth-Adult Come and learn this much

updated and lively social dance that has its origins in

English country dance, Scottish and French dance

from the 17th century. No partner required. Dancers

form new couples each dance. Each evening begins

with a brief lesson at 7pm. A caller leads the dances

at 7:30pm with a live band. For more information, visit

3. Ongoing Youth/Adult Recreation

Did you know?

Four times around the sidewalk surrounding the

fountain at Desoto Park is roughly a mile! As the

construction portion of the storm water

improvements project is completed, elements are

being added including multi-generational exercise

equipment, benches and trash cans. A floating ADA

accessible kayak launch will be installed this spring

following winter manatee activity.

SATELLITE BEACH SUMMER SWIMMING PROGRAM Satellite Beach Recreation is pleased to offer summer swimming classes and swim team at the Satellite High

School Pool (300 Scorpion Court, S.B. 32937). Our class instructors are trained and certified by the American

Red Cross, so swimmers of all ages and abilities are in very capable hands. The prerequisite for each level is

the successful demonstration of the skills from the preceding level, except for Level 1. The only prerequisite for

Level 1 is that the student must be at least 5 years of age. Club and Recreation Swim are taught by SHS Swim

All classes meet for a 2 week session Monday-Thursday (Friday is a rain out day).

MORNING CLUB SWIM Provides an opportunity for competition swimmers, ages 12-18 years old, to

practice and improve their skills four days a week, with the SHS swim coach. 8-week program runs

June 3-July 25 and the cost is $200 per swimmer (or $100/month).

8:30-9:30am

RECREATION SWIM TEAM Swimmers, ages 16 and under, who have mastered Levels 1-4 and beyond

will benefit from this 8-week swim team program June 3-July 25. Stroke refinement, technique and

efficiency will be the focus. Several swim meets will be scheduled with other local teams. All swimmers will

be assessed the first day. Practice will be four days a week, schedule to be finalized after assessments.

Cost is $100/month.

Family Fun Night

Bring the whole family to the Satellite High School Pool on June 13, June 27, July 11, July 25 for an evening of

family pool fun! Use the diving board, lap swim, bring your inflatable's. For $5/family each Thursday, you can

enjoy some water fun from 6-8pm. An adult must remain at the pool with their children.

Summer classes run June 17 through July 26, once a week on the days listed for each class below. Registration deadline is

Friday, June 14. Classes may be subject to cancellation if the minimum number of enrolled students is not met. All classes

are held at the DRS Community Center. Classes on Thurs, July 4 will be made up on Friday, July 5.

Jr/Sr Intensive Dance Camp

Summer Intensive Dance Camp caters to any dancer

who has at least 3 years of dance experience.

Dancers wishing to try out for the RIM competition

team are required to take this camp which will include

tap, jazz, ballet variations, musical theatre, lyrical,

leaps and turns, hip hop, and modern dance.

Instructors include Penny Conwell and guest teachers

from throughout the state.

Funtastic Fitness Mini Camp Ages: 3-5yrs Pre-schoolers will enjoy this mini camp

designed just for them! This action-packed, non stop fitness

camp uses obstacle courses, parachutes, balls, streamers,

bean bags, hula hoops and more! Upbeat music, creative

adventures and fun games will keep little ones jumping.

Age-appropriate exercises enhance strength, motor skills,

balance, flexibility and coordination.

Dinosaurs & Dragons Camp FULL

Ages: 3-9yrs Roar! If you can't get enough of all things

prehistoric this camp is for you! Enter the time machine and

explore the world from when dinosaurs and dragons lived.

Learn how to hunt for dinosaurs, make your own dragon

and train it to fly and compete, create your own dinosaur

egg, explode a volcano, and make prehistoric snacks to

eat.

Mermaids & Pirates Mini Camp Ages: 3-9yrs Set sail on this high sea adventure. Enjoy

crafts such as creating your own mermaid, decorating your

own pirate sword and eye patch. Have fun creating edible

arts sure to delight enchanted friends both above and

below deck. Learn sword fighting techniques and protect

the ship in an all out shaving cream water balloon fight.

Additional games such as seaweed limbo, treasure hunts

and much more!

Princess Mini Camp

Ages: 3-9yrs Once upon a time, in a land not so far away

there was a magnificent princess camp. Young princesses

from near and far are invited to come dressed in their most

elegant princess attire to join us in creativity and fun.

Crafts, snacks, games and new friendships will delight your

little princess during this magical adventure that ends with

an elegant tea party.

Dates: July 8-10 Cost: $75

Musical Adventure Camp Ages: 4-6yrs A musical exploration opportunity for the

very young child led by children's singer songwriter Melany

Perkins. Children will do lots of singing and play musical

games with an opportunity to try different instruments.

Camp will end with a mini concert for the families.

Hip Hop Cheer Rock Camp Ages: 4-12yrs Learn fun, high-energy hip hop dances,

cheers, chants, and jumps all in one rockin’ camp! Learn to

work as a team and have fun playing games, making a

craft, and performing in a pep rally. Register by June 1st to

receive a free t-shirt. Family and friends are invited to watch

the BIG pep rally on Wednesday, June 19 at 2:30pm.

Green Kids Mini Camp Ages: 4-6yrs In this fun eco-friendly program, kids will

learn how to use ordinary materials to make art, toys and

games. They will work on building and testing their pieces

while applying their creativity to personalize their projects.

Kids should dress for mess.

Dates: July 8-10 Cost: $35/session or $15 daily

Instructor: Recycle Brevard Location: DRS Concession Area

SHS Cheerleading Camp Ages: 4-14yrs Have a blast while learning cheers and

age appropriate safe stunting and jumps and making

crafts. Snack and drinks will be provided. Register by July

2nd and receive a t-shirt to wear at Friday’s mini pizza party.

Parent/Friend Exhibition show off will be Friday, July 12 at

11:45am.

Gymnastics Camp Ages: 5-11yrs This is an active and exciting program

where campers focus on the fundamentals of tumbling,

dance, jumps, strength, and flexibility. Gym/Cheer combo

week will add cheering and stunts. Students have fun on

small equipment including trampoline, balance beam,

wedge mat, and bar. Kids will also participate in activities

including arts and crafts, movies (PG or G rated) games

and contests. Variety helps ensure the day is broken up into

segments of both energetic activities and necessary

downtime. All camps are Mon-Fri from 10am-3pm and cost

is $95 per week.

Fun Dance Camps Ages: 5-11yrs Dance instruction will be taught to songs

and music kids will love! Dance/Gym Combo Camps will

2:30pm, friends and family are invited to view the Camp

Showcase as campers show off their skills learned thru the

Art Through Story Telling Ages: 5-8yrs Calling all young artists! This four-day art

camp introduces young artists to an array of art media and

that engage them in developing their personal creativity

though storytelling. On the final day, family & friends are

invited for a gallery walk in which children will showcase

their artwork.

offer free pony rides for all!

Happy Healthy Chefs Camp Do you have a budding chef in the family? This fun,

hands-on camp will help kids build a strong foundation for

the importance of fueling our bodies for the day, how to

choose foods that give us energy and brain power, and

much more! We’ll prepare and eat nutritious and delicious

used to simulate outdoor obstacles.

Musical Theatre “Moana” Ages: 8-14yrs Join Satellite Beach Summer Musical

Theatre as they present Disney’s Moana. This epic

adventure is about a spirited teen who sets sail on a daring

mission to save her people. Along the way, Moana meets

the one demigod Maui and together they cross the ocean

on a fun-filled, action packed voyage. Participants will

learn the basics of musical theatre while making new

friends and having a lot of fun. Students interested in a lead

part, must be present for auditions on the first day of camp.

Camp Finale performance will be held at the DRS

Community Center Gym on Friday, June 21st at 7pm.

provided the basic building blocks for a solid future.

required by FL State Law to operate a boat. Students MUST

Mr. Science Myth Busters Camp Does jelly toast always land jelly side down? Does a

basketball filled with helium dribble faster than a normal

assumptions by thinking, designing and building CRAZY

design bizarre tests to prove or disprove their hypothesis!

high-tech gadgets of the future. You bring a brain, we’ll

Mr. Science Spy Training Camp FULL Mr. Science is recruiting new Secret Agents and Skilled Spies

for a TOP SECRET MISSION! Camp trainees will learn to sneak

practice and learn the science of espionage, infiltration,

eavesdropping, surveillance, intelligence, and undercover

work. (Camp includes role playing games and mock

engineering needed to plan and execute their mission. A

genuine uplifting model rocketry experience of flying,

flaming, fun!

agility training with the fun of team competition. The last

day will be a track meet allowing campers to compete

against each other. Track meet events will include: long

jump, softball throw, 100m dash, 200m dash, 800m Indian

run, 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays, tug-o-war, and water

bucket relay. Medals will be awarded during the closing

Shoda. Grabbers, buckets, trash bags and gloves

provided. Bring your own drinking water. For

Satellite Beach PAL Summer Fun Camp Looking for fun for your 4-12 year old children, and a

little relief for yourself? Try out the Police Athletic

League’s Summer Fun Camp. Drop your child off at

the Teen Zone weekly or by the day. PAL provides

adult supervised care supplemented by PAL youth

leaders. Campers enjoy videos, crafts and games.

Lunch will be provided or your child may bring their

Sea Turtle Walks The Sea Turtle Preservation Society offers guided Sea

Turtle walks in Satellite Beach beginning in June and

ending in July. Reservations are mandatory and are

April 6 Hook Kids on Fishing

The 8th Annual Hook Kids on Fishing is coming to

Satellite Beach! This event for youth ages 6-16yrs is

sponsored by Anglers For Conservation and is held at

the SB Sports Park pond. Check in begins at 8:30 and

the program ends around 11am. Instruction is given

on casting, fishing techniques, habitat restoration,

conservation, knot tying and more! A parent must

stay with children. Adult volunteers are needed,

please call the Rec Dept if you have fishing

experience and would like to volunteer. Register

April 13 TWLOHA Run For It 5k

Join the non-profit To Write Love on Her Arms for their

6th Annual Run For It 5k. This run is an invitation to

move for something that matters and to challenge

the stigma of mental health issues in our community.

April 18 Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

Children in 1st-6th grades hunt unassisted at this fun

night time event. Bags will be provided for your eggs,

bring your own flashlight. Cost is $7/child and tickets

must be purchased online or at the SB Recreation

Dept by 5pm April 17. Arrive at DeSoto Baseball Field

by 8:45pm. The hunt begins promptly at 9pm. Buy

your tickets early, this event sells out!

April 20 Breakfast with the Easter Bunny

Infants through 1st grade will enjoy snack and juice,

hunt for eggs, and watch the Easter Bunny arrive on

the Fire Truck. This event is held at 10am at Pelican

Beach Park. The cost is $7/child, and tickets are

purchased online or in advance at the SB Recreation

Department. Don’t wait, this event sells out !

April 27 3rd Annual Garden & Earth Day Fair

Satellite Beach Beautification & Sustainability Boards

host this annual event at the DRS Community Center

from 9am-2pm. This family friendly, outdoor fair

promotes nature and nurturing our environment while

beautifying our surroundings. Vendors will be on hand

showcasing garden related products and

educational displays. Board members will be there to

answer questions. Funds raised benefit city

improvements.

May 25 PAL Mini Bunko Night

This is an Adults Only game of dice. Teen Zone doors

open at 6pm for dinner and dice roll begins at 7pm.

Advance tickets are $15 per person or $20/person at

June 8 FREE Dance Day Rhythm in Motion Dance is hosting a FREE Dance Day

for children ages 3-12yrs at the DRS Community

Center. Have your child come ready to move in

comfortable clothing to try a class! Schedule is as

follows: Ballet, Tap, Tumbling for ages 3-5yrs begins at

11am, Gymnastics for ages 4-9yrs at 10am,

Gymnastics for ages 10-12yrs at 11am, Ballet for ages

6-12yrs at 10am, Hip Hop for ages 6-12yrs at 12:15pm.

A parent must remain on site. Ms. Lanore, Rhythm In

Motion Director, will be available to answer questions

regarding summer and fall classes. No experience is

necessary but you must RSVP by June 6th as spaces

Family Fun Swim Nights at SHS Pool Bring the whole family to the Satellite High School

Pool on June 13, June 27, July 11 and July 25 for an

evening of family pool fun! Use the diving board, lap

swim and bring your inflatables. For $5/family each

Thursday, you can enjoy some water fun from 6-8pm.

A parent must remain at the pool with their children.

Tennis Classes for Beginners-Teens & Adults The tennis program starts with classes & then provides

opportunities for recreation & competitive play. Tennis

classes are offered Monday nights from 6-7pm for ages 13yrs

through adult. Cost is $65/month per person and meets at

the Desoto Courts. Instruction is provided by Jane

Heintzman, USPTA, Certified Elite Pro. Pre-register online at

Basic Line Dancing For those new to line dancing, students will be taught the

very basics in a fun one hour class! Meets on Thursdays each

week at 1pm at the DRS Community Center. Cost is

PILOXING®

PILOXING® is an exciting fitness program that blends the

best of Pilates, Boxing and Dance into a high-energy interval

workout! PILOXING® uniquely blends the power, speed and

agility of boxing with the targeted sculpting and flexibility of

Pilates, which combines to provide a muscle-toning

workout. Join instructor, Terry Gerken, for an hour workout

Saturday mornings at 8:30am in the DRS Dance Studio, for

this empowering workout for teens and adults! Cost is

QiGong/Tai Chi An ancient Chinese healing art, QiGong is a gentle form of

exercise that can prevent or ease many ills. Often described

as “meditation in motion” this mind-body practice is known

to reduce stress, relieve pain, promote flexibility, and aid in

relaxation. Students can participate as they stand or sit.

Class meets on Wednesdays in the SB Civic Center

Breezeway from 12:15-1pm Monthly cost is based on the

number of weeks the class meets at $5 per session. Class is

taught by Laura Parsons, Certified in the art of QiGong.

3 H's Exercise Class for Adults and Seniors The Happy, Healthy Heart program covers all the elements

that keep you strong, energetic and flexible. Work out with

weights, do a bit of cardio, and stretch it all out in a fun-filled

45 minutes. Class uses chairs and weights. No getting down

on the floor.
