Ever since its inception in 1959, IIT Madras has been at the forefront of innovation and is currently leading the technological sphere, having been ranked 1st in the NIRF rankings by MHRD, GOI for the 4 th consecutive time. With the rising entrepreneurial trends across the globe, there has been an expansion of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India as well. In many ways, this is reflective of the larger trend that we are seeing here at IIT-Madras. Students are continuously engaged intryingtopushtheir ideas beyond their labs, hostels and workspaces.
With centers such as CFI, programs such as Nirmaan and organizations such as the IITM Incubation Cell working at full swing, there is little surprise therefore to see IIT- Madras dominating the university campus entrepreneurial space asis evident by the fact that 4 of the 5 finalists in the recent campus entrepreneurship competition conducted by ET, were from IITM.

Entrepreneurship Cell at IIT Madras believes that entrepreneurship is not just about starting companies, but a pathway towards India’s socio-economic development.
To make students and faculty ‘entrepreneurial’ in every work that they do. To enable them to solve global challenges, to nurture them and provide them with opportunities for excellence.
E-Cell aims to unlock students’ latent inventive potential. Not only do we show them the doors of opportunity but we also equip them to walk through it. Through our conference, social events, lectures, speaker engagements and workshops, we’re hoping to bring together everyone interested in the startup world. and to help students best utilize resources to found or join startups.

E-Summit is a 3-day event which engages all classes of students - right from those who are oblivious to entrepreneurship to those who have been entrepreneurs themselves for quite some time. E-Summit is a platform that brings together a host of passionate mentors and enthusiastic students so as to provide the latter an opportunity to interact and establish a professional network with prominent people through lectures, panel discussions, workshops, mentoring sessions and other exhaustive events to prove their mettle in competitions judged by the same.

We believe that entrepreneurship is not just about ideas, it’s about making them happen. Through Boot-camp-2019, we aim to fuse mentorship with competi-tive spirit to provide students with a real-world experi-ence of cut-throat competition with other ambitious startups, for gaining an opportunity to get incubated and a hefty prize money. The vision behind Bootcamp is to help young minds with a unique ideas, to get men-tored by industry experts, to get their ideas in best shape! This event is mainly crafted for early stage start-ups, who are working on a prototype but need an headstart to start-up. It’s the best opportunity for them to nurture their talent, showcase it and feel the journey of an entrepreneur.

StructureHow it works ?
Submit a short summary of your startup idea and how you plan on being profitable. Applica-tions will be reviewed by the experts in respec-tive fields and the most promising ideas will enter the second round 2.
Round 1 :
Round 2 :The teams shortlisted for this round will be men-tored for a period of around 20 days, by various experts and business personnels in their respec-tive field. Each team will be allotted ONE mentor to interact with and brainstorm. Online interaction will be carried according to mutual convenience between the mentor and the team via mails, Hang-out calls, skype calls and so forth.

The mentors, after going through the idea pro-posed by the teams, will provide their insights and suggestions. Teams that go through to this round will be asked to submit a more detailed executive summary of their business ideas. Based on the executive summaries and inputs from mentors, teams will be shortlisted for round 3.
Round 3 :This is the final round of Bootcamp starting from 8th March 2018 wherein each team will be men-tored one-on-one, by the experts to polish their profiles through the following 3 avenues:
Creating a MVP
Building a sustainable enterprise
Crafting the perfect pitch for investors
These mentoring sessions will be for 40-50 min-utes each, so that the teams can efficiently build their idea. After the on-ground mentoring ends, the teams will pitch their ideas in front of the jury.
