This 6 day trek gives you a real taste of what the Nepalese

Himalaya have to offer. The highlight is a sunrise walk to

the fantastic viewpoint of Poon Hill, where you can watch

the giants of the Himalayas change colour with rising sun.

Taking a quiet route off the beaten track though Muldai Hill,

you will trek through subtropical forest, passing traditional

mountain villages. This challenge offers you time in both the

Pokhara and Kathmandu Valleys, home to UNESCO

Heritage sites and natural wonders.

DAY 1 DEPARTURE

We will meet at the airport and check in together before

boarding our flight to Kathmandu.

DAY 2 ARRIVE KATHMANDU

Arrive & transfer to the hotel. Already we will be blown away

by the sights, sounds and smells of this incredible capital city.

At the hotel we have a briefing from our Action Challenge

leader, head local guide and UK Doctor. In the evening we

have a welcome meal in this iconic city before an early night

and the start of our Annapurna Adventure.

DAY 3 TURKEDHUNGA 1,570m

We depart early for a short flight to Pokhara, from then

transfer to the trail head at Nayapul. Our first day of trekking

takes us through the low altitude sub-tropical forest zone,

passing traditional villages en route. We trek through bamboo

forests and past thundering waterfalls stopping for lunch at the

small village of Sudame. After, the trail climbs steadily up to

Hile, before arriving at Tirkedhunga where we overnight.

DAY 4 GHOREPANI 2,750m

Today we climb from Tirkedhunga and leave the sub-tropical

forest and enter a zone of local farming and cultivation. The

trail to Ulleri village is up a long series of stone steps, then a

gentle climb through pasture and cultivated fields, before

reaching a refreshingly cool oak and rhododendron forest. We

have lunch at Nangethanti before ascending to Ghorepani,

today’s final destination. Today is a varied day, with lots of

opportunities to see the local culture and way of life.

DAY 5 POON HILL & DOBATO 3,465m

This is a real highlight, watching sunrise from Poon Hill!At 5am

we head up the well-marked track by headtorch. The first light

of dawn illuminates Dhaulagiri and Tukuche Peak with a

surreal pink glow. You may be able to buy a coffee from an

enterprising local who has carried his produce up the hill! On

our return to Ghorepani we have breakfast, before trekking

the tough and seldom walked trail to Dobato through

rhododendron forest and then climbing an amazing ridgeline. If

we are lucky we will see langur monkeys climbing through the

trees as well as excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli

and Machha-puchhare from Dobato. Our lodge tonight is far

less visited and more basic than any we have stayed in.

DAY 6 TADAPANI 2,630m

At sunrise we we visit Muldai viewpoint to see a stunning

sunrise. We return for an early breakfast then head off from

Muldai on a very small steep trail that continues south to Ban

Thanti. This gives us a real Himalayan trekking experience,

well away from the main trails and together with the locals in

almost complete solitude. As we descend, we pass an ancient

Gurung temple before coming the little tea house village of

Meshar Danda. From here we descend to Tadapani.

DAY 7 GHANDRUK 1,940m

We continue to Ghandruk with stunning views at each

clearing. Ghandruk is home to the Gurung people, one of

Nepal’s most famous ethnic groups, known for their

distinctive dialect, culture, costume, and life style. Ghandruk is

also home to many soldiers from the famous Gurkha

regiments. This evening we stay at a local teahouse.

DAY 8 POKHARA

A final descent to Nayapul, then transfer by vehicle back to

Pokhara for a shower and relax in this stunning lakeside town!

Tonight we celebrate with a fantastic meal!

DAY 9 KATHMANDU

A morning flight to Kathmandu and a free afternoon to

explore, before a Nepali dinner on our final night in this

fabulous and enchanting country.

DAY 10 DEPART KATHMANDU

Today we catch our flight home to the UK.
