This summer will be the beginning of some very exciting new camping traditions as we strive to fulfill the dream of

We have designed many different camping opportunities intended to meet every families schedule as well as providing a quality experience no matter what your camping tradition or expertise.

Whether you are a leader bringing your Pack or Den to experience the excitement of setting up tents and a campsite or a parent that wants your child to experience the fun of camp but wish to just move into a tent that is ready to go, we have the facilities and equipment that you require.

This guide is designed to provide information to Parents, Leaders, and Camp Coordinators to prepare for this exciting camp season. The Staff of Camp Indian Trails welcomes you to your camp for a great time this summer!

The ultimate and complete Cub Scout Camping experience including Climbing

Wall, Aquatics, Archery Range and the BB Gun Range as well as Nature and Scout Skills

programs. Scouts will earn two Belt Loops/Achievements as part of this program.

Day Camp is a three-day program offering with supervised recreational

and craft activities for Cub Scouts at all ranks. Participants have the ability to try a variety of advanced

activities including Archery and BB Gun Ranges along with activities in

building, creating and exploring.

This offering is intended to provide a more compact Cub Scout Camping experience with

shortened program offerings. Scouts will have the opportunity to do some of the other

program offerings including Aquatics. This is a great opportunity for Scouts and families to

try out the Cub Scout Camping program.

Resources for You

REfunds and CampershipsRefunds will only be made if requested in WRITING prior to June 1st. Refund requests must be made by the Pack Coordinator and should be directed to the Glacier’s Edge Council Camping and Support Services Director, Nick Rose at [email protected]. Packs may choose to credit program fees to another camper. Transfer requests must be submitted to the Council Program Specialist, Skylar Fitzgerald, for consideration at [email protected].

Any refunds requested after June 1st are reviewed by the Camping Committee in August and a decision will be made at that time. Approved refunds will be returned to the pack with a minimum cancellation fee of 25% per scout deducted. Refunds re-quested after June 1st are not guaranteed. Packs may appeal any refund decisions to the Glacier’s Edge Camping Committee in WRITING before the start of the registered session.

CAMPERSHIPSA Campership is financial support provided to a Scout to help with the expenses of attending camp. Your Cubmaster or Pack Committee Chair should make the request for a Campership with the help of the Scout applying. Applications can be found on the Glacier’s Edge Council Camping website or at either Council Service Center and must be completely filled out and returned to the Council Service Center no later than March 15th. Those Scouts joining a unit after March 15th may apply as soon as possible, up until June 1st.

CAmp Coordinator Timeline

This checklist is designed to assist your Pack’s Camp Coordinator to deliver a great camp

program! It is also useful to parent’s registering

individual Scouts for camps.

To Do List for December:• Determine the date when the pack will be going to camp.• Gather Camp information and distribute to parents• Schedule a date for a Camp Promotion by contacting Tim Wurgler, Camp Director at [email protected]

Parking Check-In Setup Health FormsWhen you arrive

at camp, proceed down the main

road about 3/4 of a mile to the main parking lot. Staff

will greet you there and assist with

getting you checked-in!

After you find a parking spot, head to Allen Dining Hall, its

the big building at the end of parking lot! At

check in you’ll submit your paper

work, and recieve your patch, schedule, and

campsite assignment.

Once you know where your

campsite is, you’ll have until 11am to get setup. Don’t

worry, we have staff in every campsite to help you get setup and settled for the

week.

Reminderthat all particpants,

ADULTS AND YOUTH are

required to have parts A, B and C of

the health form!

What to Bring

Meals and Food

LeadershipPacks must provide a minimum of 2 leaders, and maintain a ratio of 1 Adult per 4 Scouts. The only exception to this rule is if a parent wishes to attend camp with a Scout individually. Siblings are allowed to attend camp with family members as long as the leadership ratio is maintained. Tiger Scouts must attend with their parent partner.

Camp Indian Trails has a full service dining facility. All menu options offered at Camp Indian Trails are approved by a licensed dietitian and prepared according to state food safety standards. All meals at CIT are served family style. Meals begin at lunch on Day 1 of Camp and conclude at Breakfast on Day 4 of Camp. One meal is prepared at your campsite with the assistance of Camp Staff.

If you have any medical dietary restrictions, please communicate them to the Camp Director, no less than two weeks before your session.

Check-In for Overnight Camps runs 9am-11am on Day 1 of Camp and is held at Allen Hall. To facilitate this process, we encourage leaders to check-in the entire unit once all have arrived at camp.

Individual Scouts registered should check-in with the parent or guardian at Allen Hall.

After Check–In, campers set up in the assigned campsite with Camp Staff available to assist. The Opening Flag Ceremony begins at 11:45 am and the schedule begins immediately after.

Required for all participants, youth and adults. Participants on camp less than 72hours only need parts A-B. NOTE Part C requires a physical exam within the last 12 months

Required for all adults on camp, no exceptions will be made.

Required for all youth. Adults on camp more than 72 hours also must be registered as a leader with the BSA.

All participants who take prescription medication need the prescription medication form found at glaciersedge.org/campindiantrails

The leader in charge needs to bring a complete roster that indicates all youth and adults in camp. A daily schedule of part-time adults is required as well.

The Camp Indian Trails Trading Post is available daily for Scouts, Leaders and Parents and provides snacks, essential camp equipment, Camp T-Shirts, Camp souvenirs, weather gear, campfire chairs, sunglasses, water bottles and of course Slushies! It is recommended that Scouts bring a minimum of $40 for the Trading Post. Parents are welcome to also visit the Trading Post at the beginning and ending of camp. Credit Cards are accepted at the Trading Post.

Upon arrival, you’ll be assigned a campsite. We utilize a group camping model that has packs share campsites and build community.

We do have 1 site that has tents provided. This will be assigned by lottery system and the pack that gets that site will be notified before arrival.

Got some family that wants to send some love to the Scouts while they are at camp?That’s great! We accept mail daily at camp and will get it to the Scout while they are at camp. We do request that you have any mail delivered at camp by the 1st day of the session (before the session is cool too!) Mail to:

Check-In

Packs must provide a minimum of 2 leaders. The only exception to this rule is if a parent wishes to attend camp with a Scout individually. Siblings are allowed to attend camp with family members. Lions and Tigers must attend camp with thier parent part-ner. Camp recommends maintaining a 1:4 ratio where possible.

Check-in for Day Camp begins at 8 am each day and the Opening Ceremony begins at 8:45 am. Program begins at 9 am and concludes at 4 pm daily. Check-in on Day One may take more time. To facilitate this process, we encourage Unit Leaders to take attendance and then check-in the entire unit at the registration table. This is also the best method at the time of check-out. Individual Scouts registered should check-in with the parent or guardian that is also attending the Day Camp at registration table.
