The Canary Islands 20th January to 30th March 2020
Located 100km off the West African coast the
Canaries are already known by many for their
warm winter climate but are usually overlooked for
their culture and heritage interests; on this tour
you can enjoy both.
Along with all the major sights and plenty of time
for relaxation you will be escorted to places seldom
reached by others whilst enjoying the very best
European winter weather.
With an eternal spring expect blue skies and
daytime temperatures of low 20’s, evening of 15,
considerably warmer than Southern Spain.
Whilst being Spanish the islands retain a strong
individual identity with many islanders considering
themselves Canarian and only secondly Spanish.
Maintaining a duty free status, the islands are
exceptionally good value for shopping and eating
out, and with fuel well below European prices you
won’t be spending much on Diesel.
Get away from the after Christmas cold, take
yourself and your motorhome away for 70 nights
of warmth and exploration.
A mix of campsite, camper stops and private parking
is used throughout the tour requiring the use of your
motorhomes facilities on occasions. The trip will
take you to some wonderful places requiring a
confident driving approach at times and will be best
enjoyed by those with a sense of adventure & open
mind to camping.
70 nights of winter warmth, exploration and relaxation

campsite near the port of Cadiz where we will have a welcome
drinks reception so that you can meet your fellow travellers.
Day 2 and Day 3—We board the ferry for our voyage to the
islands. On board we’ve included en-suite cabins and the ships
full board menu, it’s only drinks you’ll pay for.
Day 4 to Day 13 (Saturday 1st February)—We arrive in Tenerife and
settle in to our first campsite in the south which boasts good
facilities including swimming pool, tennis court, shop & bar. During
our time here we will visit many of the local attractions but we also
allow you the necessary time to relax and enjoy your surrounding.
Our Group tours will include an excursion to Masca and Garachico
including a group lunch, Visit to a Banana Plantation, The UNESCO
world heritage site of Park National del Teide.
Day 14 to Day 25 (Thursday 13th February) -La Palma is our
destination for the next 11 days. La Palma is affectionately known
as ‘Isla Bonita’ (The Pretty Island) and you will soon see why as we
journey around the island to our varied camping locations. During
our time on the island we will visit a wine cellar with a wine & tapas
evening, traditional salt pans with a group dinner plus plenty of time
to walk and take in the exceptional beauty of the island.
Day 26 (Friday 14th February) - Our ferry this morning takes us to
the smaller island of La Gomera, where you can take the 55 mile
circular road with its stunning views before catching our evening
ferry to Tenerife.
Day 27 to 29 (Monday 17th February) - Back to our first campsite to
allow us time to prepare for the next stage of our journey.
Day 30 to 32(Thursday 20th February) - Our journey continues as
we move on around the west coast to Puerto de la Cruz. Our camp-
ing is a dedicated motorhome parking area right in the heart of the
resort. You will have time to explore this lovely resort and we will
take the local bus to visit La Orotava with a group lunch included.
Day 33 to Day 36 ( Monday 24th February) — The north of the
island is our destination where we can chill out with the locals; it is
unlikely that you will hear anything other than Spanish around here.
Day 37 to Day 41 (Saturday 29th March) - We return to Puerto to
attend the Carnival, the largest Fiesta in the Canarian calendar.
Followed by free days to relax, catch up on the chores and sightsee
before we move to Gran Canaria
Day 42 to Day 69 (Saturday 28th March) - The ferry takes us to
Gran Canaria (2 hrs) where we have the most dramatic drive on all
the islands, 25 miles of simply stunning coastal scenery to our camp-
site. During our time on this island we will have a ‘glass bottom’
boat trip, visit the Maspalomas Dunes National Park, a group excur-
sion to the interior of the island with lunch, Visit to Las Palmas, Aru-
cas with its rum distillery, Excursion to Aguimes and Barranco de
Guayadeque where we have dinner, a day trip to Galdar and Peurto
de las Neives and our Farewell Dinner. There is also plenty of time
for relaxation and to soak up the sun.

beauty and none more so than on its southern

in the classical sights of Olympia,

Sunday Lunch in a local Taverna.

Greece—Northern Highlights 29th April - 13th May 2020
Micro climates, Islands and not to be missed sights Continuing on from ‘Greece – The Peloponnese’ this tour takes in the other half of the country and extends your holiday for a further 14 nights.
We mix stays on the coast of the Pelion Peninsular and the charming island of Corfu with time inland. During our stay at Meteroa we have a guided tour around this wonderful area where the Greeks famously built their Monasteries precariously perched atop the local rock formations, a sight not to be missed.
In Ioannina we see Greece’s city of mixed traditions, from its well preserved Turkish quarter and ancient silver production through to its Lake Island and modern restaurants.
Then in Corfu we take an island tour including a visit to ‘Mon Repos’ villa, birth place of Prince Philip and the picturesquely rugged resort of Paleokastritsa.

Serbia, Slovenia & Southern Hungary
Explore very contrasting countries as we
travel through regions of the Balkans.
Slovenia is a country with many famous
sights; Lake Bled, Postojna Caves, beautiful

Lipizzaner white horses of the Vienna riding
school, these are all included in our tour

locations of Ptuj and Catez; we also have

Serbia is a complete unknown for most
people but don’t expect to be disappointed
by a visit or to feel unsafe, and do get there
before too many others discover its charms.
We mix the unspoilt nature of the Serbian
Zasavica Reserve with the wonder of the
Mokra Gora National Park along with
discovering the old & modern history of
vibrant Belgrade.
Intermixed between Slovenia and Serbia are
some specially selected stops in
undiscovered parts of southern Hungary to
give an alternative aspect of a visit to this
fascinating country.
Throughout the tour an above average
number of group meals are included to
enjoy the varied cuisine of all three
countries.

Delightful Denmark 6th to 25th June 2020
Danish Delight—The Land of Intriguing Experiences
Jutting into the North and Baltic seas, Denmark is a beautiful land of over 400 islands with great destinations and where you are never more that 50km away from the sea. Thanks to the Danes fondness for green open areas nature will envelop you as you travel through this wonderful land. Our tour starts on the Jutland peninsula where we visit Ribe, Denmarks Oldest Town and Aarhus, its cultural centre; both of which will bring alive the Danes legendary sense for design and architecture.
The islands of Zealand and Funen are now linked to Jutland by bridges, including the 18km stretch of the Storebælt Bridges; opened in 1998 having taken 10 years to build they consist of 2 bridges and a tunnel, these are crossed as we move towards Denmark's capital.
In Copenhagen we have excursions arranged for a tour of the city and to Roskilde city for a visit to the wonderful Viking museum and a walk alongside the Baltic Sea Fjord.
We finish our tour with an amazing evening entertainment at the world famous Tivoli Gardens.
Travelling in Scandinavia at this time of year is very special, enjoying the long days that being this far north provides, with darkness not arrriving until very late in the evening.
Add all this together with some Danish pastries and you begin to understand why Denmark is an intriguing holiday destination. ‘This was our 24th tour with GB Motorhome Tours and as always, we found ourselves going to places we would never have found on our own. Our leaders Liz and Dave took good care of us all.’ Geoff and Margaret Cotton – Delightful Denmark - June 2018 ‘An excellent introduction to a new country for us with a good variety of excursions to places of interest. Liz and Dave are very attentive leaders who work hard to enhance the holiday.’ Hilary and Andrew Wilson – Delightful Denmark - June 2018

“Italy Down to the Heel — South” as
we continue to the Puglia region,
forming the heel of Italy’s Boot
Italy Down to the Heel The South 19th June—9th July 2020
www.GBMotorhomeTours.com
We take it leisurely & discover Italy’s South
Puglia, the southern Italy region forming the heel of Italy’s “Boot”, is known for its whitewashed hill towns, centuries old farmlands and hundres of miles of Medi-terranean coastline. Lecce known as the ‘Florence of the South’ has the baroque architecture and Alberobello is where the grey-roofed conical trulli houses are clustered together.
Cuisine plays an important role throughout Apulia and we will take the opportunity to taste the locally produced products including the olive oils, pastas, cheeses and the local wines.
Whilst in the region we visit Matera, a rocky outcrop in the vicinity of Basilicata. It included the Sassi area, a complex of cave dwellings carved into the mountain-side. Evacuated in 1952 due to poor living conditions, the Sassi now houses museums, restaurants and shops. Nearby rock churches include St. Lucia alle Malve with its 13th century frescoes.
This tour commences in Pompeii and will take you all the way to the ‘Heel’. To enjoy a leisurely trip to Pompeii our ‘Italy—Down to the Heel—The North’ tour starts on Lake Maggiore and runs down to Rome to link up with the start of this tour. Campsites throughout the south of Italy are variable so this southern tour will be best enjoyed by those with an open mind to camping

Rhine in Flames 26th June to 6th July 2020
Fireworks, Flames and Romantic Flair
Enjoy a picturesque summer getaway along the River Rhine. The highlight of this tour will be an evening cruise with supper to see the magnificent Rhine in Flames, which is the collective name given to a series of spectacular firework displays that take place each year on the River Rhine. Before that we start the tour in the charming town of Valkenburg in the Netherlands, where our campsite is next to the countries only hilltop castle, and sits above the caves and galleries created by the town’s long history of quarrying. Our drive from Holland Into Germany, takes us first to Bernkastel-Kues, nestled on the banks of the Mosel River. Here we have a vintage bus tour of the historic centre and visit a winery where we taste some of the famous wines the town is renowned for. Then we move to Rüdesheim am Rhine, an attractive town laying in the rivers gorge and renowned for its wonderful views. The narrow cobbled lanes of the Old Town, lined with wine taverns and gardens are certainly not to be missed. We have included a visit to the fascinating museum of mechanical musical instruments, and you will also see the Germania Monument and get a bird’s eye view of the vineyards that cling to the sides of the Gorge as we return to the river by cable car.
It is from Rüdesheim that we board the river cruiser where dinner will be served whilst enjoying a leisurely cruise along the river. Then we join a flotilla of illuminated riverboats to take in the spectacle of the fireworks, pyrotechnics and experience the riverbanks and landmarks as they change into a magical red glow – an unforgettable experience.

Croatian Highlights 26th August to 21st September 2020
Explore the Adriatic stunning coastline
A country of stunning natural beauty and possibly Europe’s finest coastline! Rugged limestone mountains, crystal clear water and over a thousand islands await you on this tour.
Croatia shows very few signs of its turbulent history and has found a place on the boundary between Central Europe and the Mediterranean.
We will be hugging the wonderful coastline for most of the tour and visiting many of the natural beauties that make the country so appealing. September is an ideal month to visit, when the sea is warm to swim in, the beaches are peaceful and the temperatures not too hot.
English is widely spoken and there is a very comfortable feeling whilst travelling throughout the country. We will visit many of the Croatian highlights, including Dubrovnik, Split, Trogir, Porec and Plitvice National Park.
During our tour, we will also visit Kotor & Budva in Montenegro and Mostar & Blagaj in Bosnia Herzegovina.

Sicily 15th September to 16th October 2020
Mediterranean warmth and 25 centuries of mixed rule
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean and much bigger than most people realise. The Mafia and Inspector Montalbano spring to mind, whilst you’re unlikely to spot either of these, a visit to Sicily is rewarded with stunning architecture and traditions from 2,500 years of mixed Spanish, Roman, Greek, African and Italian occupation. If you’re expecting something much the same as Italy you’ll be disappointed, if you’re looking for surprises Sicily will deliver.
Our tour covers the whole island and throughout you’re never far from the sea. We stay in the islands two major cities, capital Palermo and second city Catania; see the geographical phenomenon of Mount Etna, Europe’s most active volcano; the nature of San Vito lo Capo peninsular, the ancient monuments at the Valley of Temples and Salinunte, the wonderful architecture in Syracuse and Cefalù, the UNESCO towns of Noto and Taormina, and the amazing mosaics of Villa Romana.
Add to this rich local cuisine, great wines, an opportunity to travel in your own motorhome
with like minded people and this tour has all the content of a great holiday.
Sue & Derek Davies Sicily—2018
‘Fantastic Tour of Sicily visiting many interesting
sites and sampling plenty of Sicilian food and
wine. Tour Directors looked after us very well,
always on hand to help if needed.’
Kath & Roy Tipping – Sicily 2018
‘This tour was a real eye-opener to travellers who
thought they knew Italy. Very different culture
from the mainland with really good local food and
wine. Many superb historical sites. Tour
Directors were excellent leaders with a very good
knowledge of the island. A thoroughly good tour
from begining to end’
