Program Overview
Goal of the Program
With an increasingly competitive global job market, employers are now looking for students
with international work experience, and this is where KNU can help. Based on a diverse
network of Korean companies, including multi-national conglomerates, SMEs, and local
government, KNU offers international students the chance to integrate a part-time
internship into their exchange semester.
Types of Internship
Type A (Spring) 12 hours per week (Part-time), 12 weeks or more
Type B (Summer) 1 or 2 months (Full-time)
Types of Internship are subject to each company
Internship Logistics
The Global Internship Program starts at the beginning of the semester and last for 12 weeks.
The Program is unpaid internship and a certain amount of wage from some internships,
except International Writing Center (IWC), is to cover your transportation fee and a meal.
Credit Options
Receiving credits is up to students and not mandatory for the program. To receive credits
for your internship, you must fulfill the requirements: 1) Must complete the internship at
least more than 140 hours to receive 3 credits and more than 280 hours to receive 6 credits.
2) Submit an evidence-based internship portfolio. 3) Receive a “satisfactory” evaluation by
your internship company.
Instructions for the portfolio and an evaluation form will be provided to the students who
pass the interview.
Things to Know

It is possible to do a semester internship and continue on full-time internship during
a break in the same company, which allow you to get credits from both spring and
summer semesters. However, you cannot receive credits for each semesters if your
