Day 6: Fri, Dec 31 – SOKCHO – BUKCHON – SEOUL. We start the day with a visit to Bukchon Hanok Village, a residential area in Seoul with countless hanoks (traditional Korean houses). Next make a stop at the Bukchon Traditional Crafts Center where you will make your very own wooden mask. Back in Seoul, visit Gwangjang Market, one of Korea's largest traditional markets, renowned for its quality silk goods, linen bedding and hand-made goods. Relax over dinner before transferring to your hotel. From 11:00 pm until 1:00 am, witness The New Year’s Eve – Bosingak Watch – Night Bell Ceremony! Happy New Year!! Day 7: Sat, Jan 01 – SEOUL. After breakfast, travel to Myogaksa Temple for a treat! Spend half the day at the temple, taking part in various Buddhist temple experiences. Start with a brief orientation of your Temple Experience, Stringing a bracelet or necklace, Buddhist monk meal, temple tour, short meditation, and a Tea Ceremony. It’s once again time for SHOPPING! Start with Dongmyo Flea Market. The main items bought and sold here are antiques of every type, including items such as wallets, electronics, old books, film posters etc. Recently vintage clothing and shoes have become the main area of interest. Prices are typically around 1,000 won so you can have fun browsing and shopping without worrying about the cost. Then the famous Namdaemun Market. Opened in 1964, it is the largest traditional market in Korea with over 10,000 retailers, vendors and wholesalers. The market, which is spread out over several blocks, has the largest collection of interesting and traditional Korean items for sale in one place. It has been said: if it is sold in Korea, or anywhere else in the world, then you will most likely find it at one of the many stalls here. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Sun, Jan 02 – SEOUL – HONOLULU. Morning and Afternoon at your leisure today. One last chance for SHOPPING! Depart Seoul via Hawaiian Airlines flt #460 at 9:25 pm and arrive Honolulu at 10:30 am the same day. Aloha and Welcome Home! (B, L)

Day 2: Mon, Dec 27 – SEOUL. Arrive Incheon, South Korea at 7:00 pm. After entry formalities, transfer to your hotel in Seoul. Enjoy a bento for dinner. LOTTE CITY HOTEL MYEONGDONG (2 Nights) (D)

Day 3: Tue, Dec 28 – SEOUL. After breakfast at your hotel, start the day with a drive by Blue House, the executive office and official residence of the president of the Republic of Korea. Blue House literally means “pavilion of blue tiles,” which the house is known for. Then explore Deoksu Palace, a walled compound of palaces in Seoul that was inhabited by members of the Korea’s royal family during the Joseon monarchy until the annexation of Korea by Japan in 1910. It is one of the “Five Grand Palaces” build by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty. The Palaces was intentionally heavily destroyed during the colonial period of Korea and currently only one third of the structures that were standing before occupation remain. After lunch, it’s time for SHOPPING! The traditional culture of Korea is represented in Insadong Antique Street. Stores in Insadong specialize in a wide variety of goods including ceramics, earthenware, calligraphy materials, antique furniture, hanbok (traditional clothing), hanji (traditional paper), traditional teas, souvenirs, cute accessories, and folk crafts. Lotte Department Store is Korea’s #1 Shopping Center – where a wide variety of goods from reasonably priced Korean labels to world-famous luxury brands! Next we visit Cheonggye Plaza, the venue of “Seoul Christmas Festival.” Visitors can enjoy fancy illuminations, a Christmas tree and photo zones. Various events and programs are also prepared for a heartwarming end-of-the-year experience for everybody. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Wed, Dec 29 – SEOUL – CHUNCHEON – NAMI ISLAND - SOKCHO. After breakfast, travel to Chuncheon and nearby Nami Island, the half-moon shaped isle famous for its tree lined roads and being the filming site of the Korean Drama “Winter Sonata.” Enjoy their famous BBQ Chicken for lunch.
