Energy efficiency reduces our carbon footprint. Improving it gives us an opportunity to ensure that our impact on the environment is minimized, and our team members, guests, and community will be able to use and sustain these resources in the future. Here are some examples of energy efficiency measures we have implemented:

Water is a finite resource, critical to human survival. As a large consumer of water, it is important that we implement reduction measures and drive efficiencies around water use to sustain our operations and our community. Here are some examples of water efficiency measures we have implemented:

Waste impacts our communities with landfills and methane emissions. Because waste reduction is heavily driven by human behavior, we engage our team members and guests in our reduction efforts. Here are some examples of waste reduction measures we have implemented:

• Energy efficient lighting upgrades• HVAC: Install variable frequency

drives (VFDs) on pumps and fans• Installation of lighting sensors or

timers in low occupancy areas

• Water Efficient Showers in guest rooms

• Water Efficient Lavatory Faucets in guest rooms

• Water Efficient Water Closets in guest rooms

• Recycling of waste including Aluminum/metal cans, Cardboard and Food/wet waste

• At the buffets, take only portions you can finish, this will diminish food waste• Turn off all lights and the television when leaving your guest room, this lowers energy use and therefor carbon emissions• Hang your towel in your bathroom and we won’t replace it, saving the energy and water needed to wash and dry it• If possible, keep a shower under 10 minutes and do not leave the water running when shaving or brushing your teeth• Use our HHonors app for digital check-in and enquire about e-check out to reduce the need for printing and paper• Finally, ask our staff questions and give us your suggestions!
