Questions1. Will stamped concrete crack? Stamped concrete is like any other concrete and must be installed by experienced and knowledgeable professionals who adhere to the standard specifications for A. a sub-base on which the concrete is placed, B. saw cuts at least 1/3 the depth of the concrete placed every 15 feet, C.expansion joints, and D. fiberglass strands added to the mix which is the most state of the art option for reducing cracks. If the customer chooses they may substitute wire mesh which is the second best method.2. Will the colors fade? The pigment used to color the concrete (synthetic metal oxide) is mixed into the wet concrete and is the same process for making bricks, which do not noticeably fade. National manufacturers who have been leading the pigment industry with consistent quality and excellence for many years produce the pigments we use. 3. How long will stamped concrete last? Stamped concrete lasts many years, just as long as regular concrete. If there is excessive wear the customer may want to have the concrete resealed. 4. How much does stamped concrete cost A typical job may range from $9-13 per sq foot depending on the amount of square feet needed. A 200 sq ft patio will run about $13 per sq ft; whereas, a 900 sq ft patio will run closer to $9 per sq ft. 5. Why choose stamped concrete over brick or pavers A. Cost- stamped concrete costs about 30% less than brick or brick pavers. B. Level surface- Freezing and thawing and the elements in general can cause the surface beneath bricks to change causing the bricks to settle, pop up, or separate. This does not occur with stamped concrete C. No weeds- there are no spaces or cracks for weeds to grow.
About the Process
Stamping concrete is basically a 5 step and 3 day processin most applications
Step 1: Day One- Removing old concrete and laying the form work
Step 2: Day Two- Pouring new concrete and leveling
Step 3: Day Two- Stamping with release agent
Step 4: Day Two- Pressure washing
Step 5: Day Three- 2 coats of sealant
Step One: Day OneDemolition and framework
Old concrete is broken and removed. Framework for the new driveway, walkway, or patio is built and installed.
Step Two: Day TwoPouring and leveling
Base color is chosen and mixed into the concrete. The concrete is poured into the framework and leveled with a steel straightedge.
Step Three: Day TwoRelease agent and stamping
Release agent color is chosen. When complete this color will only appear in the low laying cracks and impressions left by the stamps, making up about 10% of the finished look. It is dusted over the entire surface of the wet concrete and the stamping begins. The set of stamps interlock and are laid in a continuous pattern before the concrete sets.
Step Four & Five: Day ThreePressure washing and sealant
Pressure washing removes the majority of release agent to reveal the finished job. The driveway is then coated with 2 coats of weatherproof sealant.
What choices must the customer make?1. Choose a base color.*Remember this makes up 90% of the color of the finished job. Actual colors may vary

2. Choose a release agent color.*This color only accounts for 10% of the finished job and will be seen in the low-laying cracks
