"About five years before this, he [Ha'alelea] married Amoe [Amoe Ululani Kapukalakala Ena) the oldest daughter of John Ena of Hilo, Hawaii [on Jan. 21, 1858]." from the Pacific Commercial Advertiser, Oct. 8, 1864: "Another chief dead - October2, 1864 [Kuokoa, above, gives Oct. 3rd] - The Honorable Levi Haalelea died at his residence aged 42 years. 2. to my wife Anderrina Amoe [this is Anaderia Amoe Ena]and her heirs, 1/3 of the ahupuaa of Honouliuli, Ewa; ili aina ofKalawahine in Honolulu; apana aina at Niolopa, Honolulu; pahale inHonolulu called Holani and bounded by Richards St., Palace Walk, and nextto the pahale of H.K. Kapakuhaili [Hakaleleponi Kalama Kapakuhaili] and J.[Joshua] Kaeo. [This is R.P.G. 1653, shown on Greer Map of 1986]3. The pahale at Honolulu next to Queen St., Kuloloia its name, betweenthe pahale called Kaluaokapili and Mokuaikaua to ku'u kahu (my kahu),Pilali, and his [?her] heirs; this pahale not to be sold to pay my debts.4. The remainder to my heirs, ku'u makuakane [his uncle, Charles Kanaina]and kuu kaikuahine (his "sister") Hazaleleponi [Hakaleleponi] and if theydie then to William Lunalilo and other surviving children of Chas. Kanainaand Kapakuhaili[a.k.a. Hakaleleponi]. .

5. It is my desire that kou hoaloha (my friend) J.W.H. Kauwahi [spelledKauahi in original] of Lahaina be Executor of this Will.

From inventory of his estate in Probate File 2415:Pahale of Levi Haalelea [inherited from Kekauonohi; see also

KJA Keliiahonui's Probate #2085]:Lot on Haliimaile corner King & Richards Sts., unleased and not

occupied. [LCA 191 Ap. 2]Lot on Merchant St., a portion of lot called Kauanonoula. The other

part of this lot in award 191 has been sold to C.H. Lewers. This lot wasoccupied many years by Kaopi, now dead, husband of Hooleia, a kahu ofKeliiokalina. The house is partly paid for. [LCA 191 Ap. 4]

Lot and buildings on King St. running through to Merchant St. Themauka part of this lot on King St. was a part of the pin money [sic]allowed to Amoe (his wife at time of his death). She leased it to Mr.Houre August 25, 1864, for two years at $10.00 per month. The makaiportion is occupied by Poohiwa, an old Kahu of Haalelea. [LCA 191 Ap.l]

Lot on beach adjoining the premises of H.R.H. V. Kamehameha (VictoriaKamamalu] given to Pilali. [LCA 191 Ap. 3]

The land of Niolopa in Nuuanu Valley is a lele of Kalawahine but it wasmentioned in the Will for the reason that a portion adjoining was purchasedfrom Pauahi to settle a dispute about boundaries.

Waimalu, leased to J.R. WilliamsHonouliuJi, kula leased to Capt. Meek; fishing privilege makai leased

to Wilcox Richards & Co.Kalawahine comprises Niolopa, the kula above Punchbowl, several pieces

of kalo land and lwilei, beyond and makai of the Prison. The only leaseon this land is that held by Dr. Ford for a kalo patch near his residence.
