RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF rule book will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith.

2. The Committee reserves the right to vary or change show officials or judges. To decline any entry and cancel, divide or combine classes if there are less than four entries.

3. Any horse entered and not exhibited shall forfeit fees, unless the committee is presented with a veterinary certificate or in equitation only, a physician’s certificate in the case of the rider. There will be a charge of $25.00 per entry.

4. The committee reserves the right not to delay classes due to conflicts and not allow substitutions of classes or horses.

5. No exhibitor or person shall approach a judge as to a decision or other matters unless they first obtain permission from the Show Steward. Any exhibitor or person disregarding this rule may be asked to cancel all entries and forfeit entry fees. Judges’ decisions are final.

6. Please remember to bring your pony and junior hunter measurement cards and amateur certification. Numbers will not be issued without them.

7. ENTRIES may be faxed to 508-530-3263 until 5:00pm the Friday before the show. After 5:00pm entries will be considered Post Entries. Post entries will be accepted the day of the show, however, there will be a onetime post entry fee of $30.00. No penalty fee will be charged for entering additional classes on the day of the show.

8. USEF testing and a show fee of $23 per horse will be paid for each horse entered and every trainer must affix his signature to the entry blank attesting to his compliance with the USEF drug and medi-cation rule. There will be a $2.00 per horse USHJA Fee.

9. Prize money will be deducted from your horse show bill at the Secretary’s office.

10. Schooling will be permitted in authorized areas only. Anyone found violating these rules shall forfeit all entry fees and not be allowed to show.

11. Course and jumping orders will be posted at the gate all day.

12. A trophy and eight ribbons will be awarded in all classes unless otherwise specified.

13. All horses entered in stake or championship classes must show in one other class in the same division.

14. All dogs must be leashed at all times.

15. The championship and reserve shall be awarded to two of the four horses that have acquired the most points performing over fences in conformation and working classes; only those horses shall receive points for ribbons won in under saddle classes. Champion and reserve in all performance divisions. Points: 10-6-4-2-1-1/2.

16. An insurance fee of $5.00 will be charged to all exhibitors competing.

17. All juniors in hunter, jumper, and hunter seat equitation sections cannot ride anywhere on the show grounds without wearing protective headgear passing testing standards. Harnesses must be secured and if said headgear has a brim, it must be flexible or semi-flexible. Any rider violating this rule at any time must immediately be prohibited from further riding until his headgear is properly in place.

18. Checks returned for any reason will be subject to a $50.00 fine.

19. Entries not paid the day of the show will be subject to a $100.00 fine.

20. A sharps container will be available in the show office.

21. Open check written to SEHA must be left with Entry Blank in order to pick up exhibitor number.

22. Non-SEHA members will be allowed to join and participate in the Finals but the fee is increased to $75.00 for Membership for 2019.

HUNTER SEAT EQUITATION Open and Children’s Equitation Classes $25.00 each

1. MHC MINI MEDAL. Open to members of MHC who have not reached their 15th birthday as of December 1st of the current year and have not competed in classes in which the entry is required to jump higher than 3’. All contestants are to compete over a course not exceeding 8 fences and not less than 6 fences, excluding combination fences, at a height not to exceed 2’6”. One or more indi-vidual tests may be requested at the Judge’s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-5). To fill a class, a least 4 competitors must complete the course. Ten points to qualify for the Finals. Once qualified, riders may not show in this class. (10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1).

2. Two or more tests of the top 4 competitors are required. The same horse must be used in all phases. Only 1 rider per horse. To fill the class, 3 riders must complete the course. The rider must be a member in order for points to count toward qualifying for the Finals. (10, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1/2).

4. MHC JUNIOR MEDAL. Open to junior members of MHC who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current year. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not exceeding 3’. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the Judge’s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-18). To fill a class, at least 4 competitors must complete the course. Ten points required to qualify for the Finals. Once qualified, riders may not show in this class.

5. MHC JUNIOR MEDAL-same specifications as above.

6. NEHC HUNT SEAT MEDAL. Open to junior members of NEHC who have not reached their 18th birthday. All contestants are re-quired to perform over at least 8 fences not exceeding 3’3”. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the Judge’s discretion. (USEF Tests 1-18). To fill a class, at least 4 must complete the course. One win required to qualify for the finals. Once qualified, rider is no longer eligible for the preliminary class. Violation will forfeit eligibility for the finals for that year.

7. THIS NATIONAL CHILDREN’S MEDAL. Entry Fee: $40.00 To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences 2’9 to 3’ in height, spread not to exceed fence height. The course may be either a hunter or jumper type course and must include at least 2 changes of direction and a combination. Water obstacles (i.e.: water jump Liverpool) are not permitted. The top 4 riders or 20% of the first round competitors, whichever is greater, are required to perform at least 2 individual tests. (USEF Tests 1-19). An Open Numerical Scoring System must be used in the first round, with each rider’s score announced at the completion of their round.

8. DOVER SADDLERY /USEF HUNTER SEAT MEDAL. Entry Fee: $45.00 Presented by Dover Saddlery. Open to junior members of USA Equestrian who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current year.. To be shown over a course of not less than 8 obstacles at 3’6” which must include 1 combination including an oxer and 2 changes of direction (change of lead) after the first obstacle. To fill a class, 6 competitors must complete the course. To quali-fy for the final ride off.50 points in NY, NJ, CT .38 points in MA, RI.

9. NHSAA/ASPCA MACLAY MEDAL Entry Fee: $45.00 Open to junior members of ASPCA who have not reached their 18th birthday as of December 1st of the current year. To be shown over at least 8 fences not exceeding 3’6”. The under saddle perfor-mance of those riders selected to show under saddle shall count 50%. To fill a class 6 competitors must complete the course. 3 Competitors for Half Points.

10. NHS 3’3 EQUITATION MEDAL Open to Junior Members of USEF or Equine Canada who have not reached their 18th birthday in accordance with GR127.

13. AMATEUR ADULT EQUITATION FENCES. Eight fences not to exceed 3’0”.

14. ARIAT NATIONAL ADULT MEDAL. Entry Fee: $40.00 To be shown over a minimum of 8 fences not to exceed 3” in height, spread not to exceed fence height. The course may be either a Jumper or Hunter type course and must include at least 2 changes of direction and a combination. Water obstacle (i.e.: water jump, Liverpool) are not permitted. The top 4 riders, or 20% of the first round competitors, whichever is greater, are required to perform at least 2 individual tests. (USEF Tests 1–19) . 17. NEHC ADULT AMATEUR HUNT SEAT MEDAL. Open to adult amateur members of NEHC. All contestants are required to perform over at least 8 fences not to exceed 3’0”. One or more individual tests of the top 4 contestants may be requested at the discretion of the Judge. (USEF Tests 1-17). To fill a class at least 3 contestants must complete the course. Once a contestant has qualified they are no longer eligible for the preliminary classes. Ten points to qualify for finals (10,6,4,2,1,1/2).

CHILDREN’S EQUITATION DIVISION USEF Unrated, NEHC, MHC”B”, SEHA Rated Division fee 85.00 or 35.00 per class Exhibitors must be eligible for Children’s Hunter. Riders may not enter into any other class at the same show where fences exceed 3”0”. Fences for horses and large ponies: 2’6”; small/medium ponies: 2’0”. 21. Fences may be taken at a trot or canter at the option of the rider.

24. SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION FLAT. Walk, trot & canter. May be asked to halt and back. No more than 8 to canter at one time.

25. SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION FENCES. To be shown at a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 fences not exceeding 18” in height. No combinations.

26. SHORT STIRRUP EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIP. Entry Fee: $35.00 Fences not to exceed 18”. No combinations. Must have shown in class #25 to be eligible.

SHORT STIRRUP HUNTER DIVISION-OPPORTUNITY CLASSES

USEF Unrated, NEHC, MHC ”AA”, SEHA Rated Division Fee: $85.00 or $35.00 per class. Open to riders 12 years and under. 51. WALK TROT PLEASURE HORSE OR PONY. Entry Fee: $25.00 To be shown at a walk, trot or jog ONLY. To be judged on manners, suitability of horse to rider and perfor-mance. Entries may not canter or lope when on show grounds.

52. WALK TROT PLEASURE CHAMPIONSHIP HORSE OR PONY. Entry Fee: $30.00 Same specifications as class #51. Must have entered and shown in Class# 51to be eligible.

53. WALK TROT EQUITATION. Entry Fee: $25.00 Open to riders 10 years of age and under. Shall show at a walk, tort or jog ONLY. No child entered may com-pete in any other class requiring entries to canter or lope at any previous show. Any child entered in these classes is eligible to enter the Walk Trot Pleasure classes.

54. WALK TROT EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIP. Entry Fee: $30.00 Same specifications as class #53. Must have entered and shown in class #53 to be eligible.

56. HUNTER PLEASURE OPEN. NEHC, MHC rated "C" Entry Fee: $25.00 Open to all horses of a hunter type ordinarily used for pleasure purposes with no limitations as to the status of rider. To be shown at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. Light contact with the horses mouth is required. To be judged on manners, performance, suitability to rider, presence, substance and soundness.

57. HUNTER PLEASURE CHAMPIONSHIP NEHC,MHC rated "C Entry Fee: $30.00 Same specifications as class #56. Must have entered and shown in class #56 to be eligible.

58. HUNTER TYPE PET PONY NEHC, MHC rated "A" Entry Fee: $25.00 Open to riders under 14 years of age. To be judged on manners, performance and quality at a walk, trot and canter both ways of the ring. $15, $10, $5, $5

59. HUNTER TYPE PET PONY CHAMPIONSHIP NEHC, MHC rated "A" Entry Fee: $30.00 Same specifications as class #58. Must have entered and shown in class # 58 to be eligible. $20, $15, $10, $5

60. LEADLINE-OPPORTUNITY CLASS MHC Rated "C" Entry Fee: $15.00 Open to riders 6 years of age and under who may not have competed in any other class at any recognized show, except Leadline. To be judged at a walk trot both ways of the ring. To be judged on equitation only. Leader to be on foot and must be over 18 years of age. Handler and rider must be in proper attire.

61. LEADLINE CHAMPIONSHIP-OPPORTUNITY CLASS MHC Rated "C" Entry Fee: $20.00 Must have entered and shown in either class #60 to be eligible.
