For most people, the new year evokes many different emotions. For some, anxiety and stress follow the busy holidays. But for many, a sense of wonder and hope builds for what lies ahead. We have heard many stories about the Club as a place for hope, inspiration, and meaningful relationships. Our team is busy planning and excitement is in the air. Like you, we are not sure when that will occur, but we are developing the necessary plans that would allow us to do so when it does. Our plan for 2021 is to retain our key staff and maintain our infrastructure so we can “flip a switch” and return programming to 2019 levels. We will be prepared when the pandemic breaks. There are songs, poems, quotes, and stories not knowing what you had until it was gone. What events did you miss most over the last year? Was it the live music at Happy Hours with friends and family? Or the games and activities that let our kids be themselves, laughing and staying active? Did you miss the fun energy of the Fourth of July celebration, one of our biggest events, and of course the awesome fireworks? For some it was the small, intimate gatherings like the Book Club, cribbage and bridge in the lobby, or the Third Tuesday Tastings with our favorite local restaurants. For others, it was the possibility of private parties at the Adult-Only Pool. Whatever activity it was, we look forward to hosting everyone again in 2021. The new year also allows us to reflect. It’s been a crazy year for our children too, and they deserve a reset for getting through it with us. The programs below will help kids learn, grow, and play at the Club in different ways, so pick a few to try and let’s have some fun together. Contact Jill Cordonnier for info and registration. 1 Meet new friends at Kidsports Camp. January 18th and February 15th from 9am-4pm. The CSC is the place to be when school is out, because Kidsports Camp fills the day with activities to help kids stay active and build lifelong fitness habits. In this one-day program for children aged 5-12, we swim every day, explore different exercises, learn about science, and grow our teamwork skills through games and sports together. The next Kidsports Camps are set for Martin Luther King Jr. Day in January and President’s Day in February. Space is limited, register online. 2 Learn to play tennis with Junior Indoor Clinics. Tuesdays at 4pm for ages 3-5 and 4:45pm for ages 6-10. High-energy tennis classes are back on the indoor field for the fall season. It’s a good way to learn the ropes of the game and build skills through the winter. Plus, it’s a ton of fun to play inside. Contact: Jeff Roman

Even in the midst of this awful pandemic, we learned

a few things. Our touchless check-in, hands-free doors, and cashless transactions have all been successful additions. We learned that reservations gave some members peace of mind, while others prefer the spontaneity of just showing up and hoping there’s an opening. We learned distance is good for some things, while closeness is a human necessity for other things. We learned that virtual training classes are a good option when you can’t make it to the Club, whether for traveling, taking care of someone, or a little under the weather yourself. We learned more about safety, that cleaning is about discipline, systems, and solutions our members want to be part of. And we learned how much Cincinnatians love the outdoors, and we all feel better when we can spend some time outside every day. That’s why we have an expanded pool season, and will have more outdoor activities for everyone this year. We look forward to a new year of endless possibilities, new memories and hoping 2021 is better than 2020. The Club’s management and staff wish you and your family a very Happy New Year! Sincerely,

Heather Luttrull, Club Manager
